"Madam we don't have clearance. We cannot allow you to go out". One of Yu Yan's usual bodyguards told her in a sober voice.

Yu Yan and Ling Ling were standing, all dressed up, in front of Yu Yan's front door.

They had told the guards about their plans to go out and the guard had made a call to the commander and apparently she was not allowed to go out.

Yu Yan felt like the guard had slapped her with his words.

'Allow me ?' Yu Yan was shocked at those words. 'wasn't she the madam of the entire house?'

"Brother Chien, I am not asking to go out by myself. You and the rest of the bodyguards can go with us.. what's the problem?" Yu Yan tried to reason.

"Madam, we don't have clearance from the higher ups. I am sorry please return to your room" The guard said gruffly. Gesturing towards the door like she didn't know where it was.

Yu Yan was incensed.

"Higher ups? Isn't my husband the highest up?" Yu Yan couldn't help sneering.

"Um..yes..well" The guard confirmed.
