138 Evil man

Yu Yan watched helplessly as she watched uncle Kao on the floor being tended by his assistant. Some servants were in the process of cutting the cloth wrapped around uncle Kao's body with scissors .

Uncle Kao was not responding.

Yu Yan was sweating in fright.

Had someone enter her home at night to do this to uncle Kao?. The people had not killed uncle Kao. So was it a warning to Li Jun? Yu Yan gasped. Was Li Jun still in danger ?

Her body began to shake.

"Ma'am. Water," A maid gave her the glass of water.

Yu Yan tried to shake away her wayward thoughts and rushed to give uncle Kao a drink of water.

"Ah Yu Yan..." Uncle Kao moaned tiredly.

"What happened , uncle?" Yu Yan cried out, feeling drops of tears on her face.

Uncle Kao did not open his eyes to see her tears. He laid back down weakly unable to answer.

Yu Yan was more worried now.

"Where? where is my husband? We need to take uncle to a hospital quick"

" Madam, Master is in a meeting right now in his study. We were told not to disturb him" Answered a servant.

" Okay, Okay. Then, Get the driver fast. We are going to the hospital right now" Yu Yan ordered uncle Kao to be carried out.

At Li Jun's Study. A crisp knock sounded and The Butler poked his head in excusing himself.

"Master, " The butler said expressionlessly.

Li Jun looked up, raised an eyebrow and calmly stood up.

"Excuse me for a while gentlemen. I wouldn't be long." Li Jun told his Vice president and his assistant, who nodded.

Closing the door behind him, Li Jun faced his butler.

"Master. Madam found Mr Kao" The butler began.

"What? How did she wake up so early?"

Last night after he came back from his office, Li Jun had woken her up and used her body again and again to tire her out. He only let her go back to sleep around 5 in the morning.

Usually Yu Yan woke up only after 12 on days like these. He had noticed this habit of hers every time. Why did she have to wake up so early before he could bring down uncle Kao from his punishment?.

This was bad.

Will uncle Kao tell on him?

Obviously, he would.

Li Jun ran towards the library but the butler stopped him.

"Madam is planning to take uncle Kao to the hospital. Please head this way"

Li Jun changed direction fast.

Damn! it was all uncle Kao's fault. Why did he have to give him medicines that was unknown to him? and try to keep Yu Yan away from him.

Li Jun hated these kind of dishonest actions from people he trusted.

Li Jun had been nearly poisoned to dead many times by his own people and had to switched staff members so many times to avoid such actions. He could never relax.

Li Jun kept antedotes in his home for fear of being poisoned and even tasted some poisons for immunity build up. His research team had to work around the clock to come up with poisons and antidotes to save him and his loved ones many times in the past.

In his life he had always being careful about what he ate and what he drank.

But with uncle Kao, he never did that- not that he could. Uncle Kao could hide the tastes of anything with his herbs, even poisons. If ever uncle wanted to poison him, he would never be able to avoid death.But Li Jun never doubted uncle and drank his medicines as told and followed his advices.

He even trusted him with Yu Yan's health and he instead, tried to keep her away from him. That was the last straw.

The thought of being betrayed was too strong to take it as a harmless joke. A lesson was called for but he very well could not actually harm the old man.

He had ordered his men to tie up Uncle Kao for a night on the ceiling given his acrophobia, it would be an adequate lesson.

The plan was to untie him after his meeting and also ask him what the new herb in the medicine was for?. BUT.. Yu Yan had got to him first. This was bad.

"Yu Yan!" Li Jun yelled towards her before she could go out the front door. Uncle Kao was being carried out the door by servants followed by his assistant.

"Jun". Yu Yan breathe a sigh of relief and rushed to him. "Look at what they did to uncle" She started to cry. " Poor uncle". She wailed loudly flinging herself into Li Jun's opened arms.

"It's okay. It's okay" He patted. "He will be fine. It has not even been 12 hours since he was up there. Nothing will happen to him." Li Jun comforted her. He never knew that Yu Yan had gotten so close to uncle.

Slowly Yu Yan looked up at him. Tears still dripping from her eyes.

"How would you know, how many hours he has been up there?" She whispered.

Li Jun sighed. It was better to tell her anyways since uncle Kao would do it later.

"Because I put him up there" Li Jun tried to smile but failed.

Yu Yan took a step back away from him.

"Why would you do that?" She whispered.

Li Jun did not answer. What would he say anyways? She would not understand his thinking.

He shrugged instead.

A dismissive shrug in Yu Yan's eyes.

" You evil man! He is only an old man. Even if, he did something mean. Couldn't you just talk it out with him? Do you have to bully him so much just because you are stronger?" She was so angry that she had not realised that she had screamed at him in front of his servants.

Li Jun did not notice it either. He had only zoomed in on one sentence.. 'You evil man' She had said.

Li Jun crossed his arms and stared down at her. Intimidating her with his height and strength. He was towering and Yu Yan had to craned up her neck to look him in the eyes.

The stress of hiding his reality from Yu Yan made Li Jun more defensive.

He snarled at her.

"Yes. I am an evil man. It would be best if you remember that in the future,my dear wife and not cross me. I am not an angel of mercy nor do I have compassion for anyone else but you. Anyone who stands in my way will be rid off..." He was about to say more when he suddenly caught himself. Yu Yan's eyes looked at him shocked with a tinge of fear and confusion. What had he done?

Yu Yan saw his eyes were blacker than usual. The light had gone from it. The indulging love was gone from his eyes. She had seen his dangerous side in the past but it was never directed on her. She knew he was not an ordinary man but he had never shown this side of himself before. And now that she saw it, she was scared. She stepped back a bit.

She didn't know what happened.

Li Jun caught her body. His eyes giving out his usual light.

"Listen, Yu Yan..I am joking. I am joking alright? Calm down!" He spoke to her like she was a child. " Breathe. okay. breathe , my love" he cooed.

Yu Yan was confused. Why was he telling her to calm down when he was the one who should calm down.

Just then, she noticed her body had lost all its strength and she was limp.

She tried to say something, anything but her tongue was unmoving.

Distinctly she heard a maid screaming.

"Blood! Blood! Madam is bleeding. Madam is bleeding"

Yu Yan closed her eyes when it became too heavy for her to keep them open. She heard her husband scream her name loudly.

" Yu Yan! Yu Yan! Don't close your eyes. What's happening?" The voice was filled with agony?

Yu Yan wanted to tell him to relax because she was fine. But she had no strength to do that.

She finally lost consciousness in Li Jun's arms.

" Help! Someone help! Uncle. Uncle!!" Li Jun was screaming in anguish as he held a bloody and lifeless Yu Yan close to his body. His mind completely scattered.

"What happened to her?" Uncle Kao peered in from outside the door with a confused look.
