166 Christmas party for the rich.

Yu Yan felt a certain lethargy as she walked into the ballroom with Li Jun.

She glanced down at her rarely worn wedding ring and felt heavier. This particular wedding ring was exorbitantly costly to say the least, She heard from Shiny that the ring was insanely expensive. The blue diamond was the purest form of sky blue in the world and the sparkle in it was really no joke. The size was a little heavy too. She felt the weight Everytime she had to move her hand and it was a little scary and bothersome. She always got blinded by the stone and the other several natural green diamonds surrounding the "Sky diamond ".

Yes, the diamond even had a name. Apparently, the diamond had been mined in Australia a long time ago by Li Jun's great grandmother's family and was used as a centre-show piece for their famous jewelry company for more than a century. It was a diamond with a legacy .The diamond ring was later locked up in an intensive security unit and disappeared from the public eye for a long time. It's cost due to it's history and fame was valued at around 80 million dollars in the past but was deemed to be priceless later on. Li Jun had said he had politely asked his grandfather for the ring and received it but she knew that that was the furthest from the truth. Yu Yan didn't bother to think about the messy details because she knew that she would only get upset after hearing the truth.

Shiny had joked, scaring Yu Yan to no end saying that if she wore the ring, many thieves would try to cut off her finger to get to it and If she lost it then only the angels could help her.

Yu Yan glanced to check on the ring and again touched her millions worth of diamond necklaces and earrings to check if it was still safe on her body. It was a burden really but for a party of this scale, a necessity.

" I am an expert ,aren't I?" A sexy voice gloated from her side as they walked hand in hand towards the crowd.

" huh?" Yu Yan looked up at her husband's face in confusion.

" I told you that we will be here on time, didn't I?" Li Jun winked.

Yu Yan made a face and looked away from Li Jun who had tossed her around in bed until she had to physically wrestle with him to let her go.

Li Jun was not perturbed on being ignored.

"Making love and eating and bathing and making love again. We came exactly on time. Am I a genius or what? Hahaha.. I always keep my mind in complete order and discipline even when I am... so deep in you..." The last part was said in a seductive whisper near Yu Yan's ear

Yu Yan chose to ignore him still, But her ears were red.

"I see mother in law over there. Let's go over before you talk more nonsense ." Yu Yan guided herself stoically towards Li Jun's mother and sister and Li Jun followed after giving a helpless chuckle.

"Oh! A surprise to see you so early for a change. We expected you only after 10 pm." Meng Hua teased twirling her glass of champagne. It seemed like she was not on her first cup of wine, if the dazed and flushed cheeks were of any indications.

" I am a disciplined man mother." Li Jun said smiling politely. "I was just telling Yu Yan about it."

Yu Yan gave a forced smile while pinching Li Jun a little for always teasing her.

Meng Hua looked at the smile on Li Jun's face and smiled slightly as well.

" Of course. And also Li Jun.... Hmm.. A few old friends of your grandpa will be here today. You need to reintroduce yourself to the old folks. Li Jianguo has gone to meet them from the ports and will arrive with them. As the host you need to be on your best tonight and welcome them on behalf of your grandfather." Meng Hua stopped and swallowed whatever she wanted to say at first and instead reminded Li Jun. Then she emptied her glass. Soon another glass was picked up.

Li Jun was well aware of the implications of her words; impress them and show them who the real heir is.

That's what she really meant.

Li Jun calmly nodded. He knew that his mother didn't want Li Jianguo to inherit the entirety of the Li Empire. What an unfortunate husband Li Jianguo was , he mused.

The Li's Christmas Party.

The Christmas party would always be organized by the Li Family most years in China, unless a special case came forth. And only a few of the richest and most powerful people would be invited to this party.

Even if they said that it was only a Christmas Party, the truth was that it was only a business meeting.

This party's invite list showed who was the real deal in China and who were only paper tigers. This party was for the wealthy to show off their wealth and to cement the status of each family worthy to attend such a grand party.

It was not far off to say that in this party it would be strange to see even a single millionaire - they just were just not worthy in the eyes of these multi billionaires. Powerful politicians, and the biggest names in business and military. Everyone would be here.

It was a very formal setting. Waiters were suit up to the nines and lined around the bungalow to cater to all the guest's needs. The whole venue was glowing in a golden light and light Chinese classical music was performed by the world's most famous musicians to entertain. Tables were assigned for each family but very few sat on it at this time, most chose to used this opportunity to connect with each other and see if the connection would bring some worth.

The women especially were dressed to show luxury.

Yu Yan swallowed her saliva as she tried not to stare at the beautiful women. She had previously attended tons of party where deep cleavages and shows of full legs where prevalent and she was really impressed with that beauty but today was on a whole other level. The women today were dressed more conservatively, some though had tight body hugging dresses on but no overly show of legs or cleavages. But what awed her so much where the luxurious items they wore. The jewellery!

She saw women wearing jewelleries way more than her. She saw a woman wearing a huge headpiece shaped like an elaborate headband which covered her entire head and she had a suspicion that it was made entirely from small diamonds from the way it excessively sparkled. Another lady had a dress fully covered with stones which Yu Yan could only assume were not fake diamonds. Another women's whole neck just could not be seen due to all the sparkles around her neck. Even the men has chains and sparkly brooches and neck ties on. In short everyone was sparkling.

Yu Yan gulped and touched her own precious stones again to make sure it was still there on her body.

Later, Li Jun rushed off somewhere towards a group of old men arriving and Yu Yan became a wall flower again as usual.

She just followed Meng Hua and Li Jun's step sister around and sat on the side as the two women chatted with the other ladies.

Soon ladies came over one after another to talk and their small group grew.
