DID SHE TAKE SOMETHING FROM MY BODY

"You made me see ghost?? Do you have any idea how it almost drove me to insanity???"

Aiden rebuked Nathalia who did not seem to feel any remorse about what she just did to him.

"What is wrong with that? How could you fulfill your role as my husband and help me rule the underworld if you are just any other normal mortals out there? I know that you humans had the tendency of doubting everything that you cannot see. So I made you see them. Besides---"

Nathalia tried to explain her point but Aiden cut her off.

"First of all, it is not my choice that I became your groom in that shotgun marriage. And just so you know, I did not ask to be your king or anything. I certainly do not want to rule that world of yours. All I wanted is to be normal and to live an ordinary life. But you ruined it!"

Aiden was starting to hate the direction of their conversation because he was not someone who used to speak to someone with such harsh words.

Yet he felt the need to say those words in this situation.

So that he could at least make her know how he felt.

A moment of silence followed after Aiden's sudden outburst.

Nathalia wanted to rebut at him but for some reason, she can not.

She was lost in words.

Which was so unlike her, because she was someone who would never allow anyone to have the last say in a conversation.

Yet right now, a queen like her was tongue-tied after being yelled at by a mere mortal.

"Take back this gift that you are referring to. I don't want my sixth sense opened nor I don't need a third eye. I am more than happy and contented to just have a single pair of eyes."

Aiden said with a calm tone this time. But Nathalia just gave him a brief answer

"I can't..."

She said in a flat tone.

"What do you mean???!"

Aiden asked back and his voice started to raise another octave again.

"I mean it at it is. A Goddess cannot take back a gift that she willingly gave to someone. It is yours now. As you said, it is your third eye. Why don't you try to close it for yourself and see if it will work? Although I am not so sure how you could do that because I have never seen a third eye yet."

Aiden was not sure if Nathalia was purposely making fun of him when she said that but somehow he could feel that the other party was telling the truth when she said that she cannot take her gift back.

The thought of Aiden being mad at her made Nathalia uneasy and made her feel like someone was gripping her heart tight.

Rendering her weak from the inside.

But she did not want to appear weak nor affected in front of Aiden. Her pride won't allow that.

So before Aiden could even notice the tears that were threatening to fall from her eyes, Nathalia already turned around.

Her back was now facing Aiden.

"When are you going to come with me to the Underworld?"

She said as she tried her best not to show any kind of emotion in her voice when she asked her fated husband about finally coming home with her.

She had waited for this opportunity for more than a century.

She had anticipated for this moment to come ever since the Moira of future promised her a fated husband that would going to love her for all eternity.

But this was not how she imagined it to be.

She could not say that she was disappointed but more like, heartbroken that this was how their first conversation was heading to.

"Let me just check my calendar...alright, how about the 7th of Never throughout the 15 of ain't gonna happen??? How was that work???"

Aiden replied in spite as he also turned his back to the other party. He lied on his side and covered himself underneath the blanket.

He closed his eyes trying to fall asleep. Hoping that once he opened her eyes again, he would realize that everything that happened was just part of his wild absurd dream.

"I know, that I should not have gone to this place at all. But I just wanted to check on you. I'm glad to see that you're fine. If ever you need me, just call my name and I'll be there. By the way, don't look straight in their eyes or they might get attached to you."

Nathalia's voice was slowly fading in the background while saying that. Until everything around Aiden started to fell silent again.

The room was once again plunged into a deafening silence.

Aiden waited for a few more minutes before he lifted the blanket away from him.

Then he sat on his hospital bed and looked around his room.

That was when he confirmed that Nathalia was already gone and she already left him.

With the absence of the infamous Queen of Darkness, Aiden felt like he could now finally heaved a sigh of relief.

Yet something felt wrong.

He felt like something was missing and he felt empty inside.

There was this void inside him but he could not exactly put a finger what had gone wrong to him

"I felt weird and empty. Did she take something from my body???"

Aiden suddenly thought to himself as he tried to do a full-body check to see if there was any sign of one of his kidneys or any other internal organs being taken away.
