19 Is today visiting day? (Edited)

After Lucy left, Amy was about to stretch herself on the sofa when the doorbell rang. "Are you kidding me?" she mumbled to herself when she went to open the screen door and saw a middle-aged woman.

She opened the door and stepped aside to let her in. Something about her looked familiar, she had blond hair…Oliver! After ruining her life, they had now settled for their mothers. Amy shut the door and folded her hands to her chest, her eyes half closed in disinterest.

"I am Oliver's mother; since we haven't met I also act like Jeff's mother. Once I heard he had gotten married I came to check out for myself."

Wow, even their moms were as annoying as them. "Then I am sure that your son told you how bad I am."

"Yes, he did." Bold and honest, she liked it.

"And you still came?"

The woman nodded. "I like to see people for myself," she gave her a brief but honest smile.

Amy shifted her weight to the other leg. "I am just warning you that I can be a little very rude."

"No problem, if I may ask, why is that?"

Amy looked at the woman's face and noticed her clear blue eyes; she didn't seem the type to flatter anyone. "Be specific with your question."

"Why are you so cold to everyone around you is it because you were forced into this marriage?"

Amy walked to the sofa and sat down, the woman did the same. "My attitude has nothing to do with this marriage and it is f****n tiring that everyone thinks that way."

"Is it my son Jeff? I understand he can be cold and aloof, he's like a block of ice and doesn't even talk a lot to me." Doesn't talk a lot, then who was she living with, the Jeff she knew couldn't even keep his lips closed for a second?

"To be honest, everything in this place is awesome, it's," she sighed. "It is way better than the house I came from. I am peaceful here, at least I am not insulted based on my color and everything, at least not by Jason and his grandfather, and thou Jeff likes to pick on me he never discriminates against me. I have a card for my shopping, each car at my disposal, a great house to put my head under, awesome food, and mostly I am not monitored and treated like trash although he had every right to. He treats me better as compared to my own family."

"But he doesn't love you; he loves someone else are you okay with that?"

Amy laughed softly. "Do I have any right to be loved by him? Look at him, he is a powerful CEO, I am only a musician, not even a qualified one, am I even half worth of his love beside it would be creepy if he starts loving me…" she shuddered trying to imagine the chibi version of the annoying Jeff with little red horns acting romantic.

"But you're trapped here forever? Don't you wish for someone to love you and raise kids with you?"

Amy rubbed her hands together. "To be honest, I used to but right now I am not sure I want that. Besides the world isn't what we always imagine it to be."

"Jeff has his relationship outside this villa, don't you have any?"

"What is this, an interview?" she answered the question anyway. "Why should I, why would I let someone's child fall in love with me knowing well that I couldn't marry them? That would be cruel and for Jeff's relationships, I am totally fine with them, if he decides to bring his girlfriends to live here, I won't have a problem, after all, it is his house and I am thankful to him for sheltering me, even thou I am unbearable. If he gets kids, I will treat them nicely because I know how it feels to have an evil stepmother. And besides, it wouldn't be the kids' problem, in fact, I would be my problem for existing because if I wouldn't have existed maybe their father and mother would have been happily married."

"Have you thought about having your own kids?"

"No, really, no, if I can't do it for their sake or Jeff's then I will remain chaste for the sake of grandpa, that man made sure I am comfortable and I will respect myself and this marriage for him at least. Now, did you come here to ask me questions?"

The woman smiled. "I came to know you more; actually, I think you're a nice person inside, only that few people will be privileged to find that out."

Amy smiled faintly a little annoyance slipping at the end. "You know you have overstayed right?"

She nodded and got up. "I will not take any more of your time; I only hope you find the happiness that you deserve."

Amy waved her off. "I don't think I deserve that, I am just comfortable with my life, it's how I am used to it."
