9 I should have married someone else (Edited)

When Amandla's eyes and Jason's met, he raised his brow in question. "The ice cream girl?" he asked as he took the seat next to her and sipped water. "What are you doing here?"

Amandla couldn't believe her luck, seriously another one! "Well, it happens that I got married to your brother."

"The mysterious bride?" He choked out.

She shrugged. "I wasn't aware I had a nickname." She scooped rice and chewed it, she wasn't interested in another Jeff at least not today, she had had a long day.

"Whoa, good to have you in our lives." He then leaned and whispered in her ear. "There's never any fun around here."

Amandla nodded and smiled just to get him off her back, besides that wasn't hard to notice. "I can tell," she whispered back. They ate in silence before she spoke again. "Why didn't I at least marry Jason?"

Everyone at the table paused eating before Jason found his voice and spoke. "You wanted to marry me? I mean it was the eldest son that was getting married."

"The eldest?" she clicked her tongue. "You would have been the eldest Jason!" she whined.

Jason smiled pleased as he placed a pea in his mouth while she subconsciously gulped, well two cute guys, this couldn't be that bad. "You wanted to get married to me?"

Amandla stopped eating and shrugged. "Anyone else but not that monster, even grandpa would be okay."

It was grandpa's time to watch her in shock. "You're…interesting," he finally said and continued eating.

"I mean I would have been fine even getting married to the house butler." She spoke as she ate her food surprised that Jeff said nothing.

When the meal was over, the richer ones indulged in wine as Amandla settled for water. "Don't worry Amandla, right?" the grandfather asked.

Whoa, even the one who proposed the wedding didn't even know her name. "Call me Amy."

"Amy, I will make sure that you never lack anything in this lifetime." Amandla smiled faintly. She hopes so, something major had to compensate for getting married at twenty! To a man she hated!

"So, sister-in-law are you done with college?" Jason asked. She couldn't blame him though; he looked friendly and talkative; at least he could be a lot of amusement in this damn house.

"Final year." She answered him.

"What course?"

"Music."

Jeff laughed sarcastically from his side, so he found his voice finally? "Music!" he laughed again. "How worthless."

She ignored him, closed her eyes, and opened them with a smile for Jason. "So, you sing or something?"

That was what she kept a secret in her life and she wasn't about to let anyone know. "Let's not talk about that."

Jason nodded and Amandla couldn't be any more grateful.

After they were done with drinks Jeff proposed to leave since it was getting late. "We will leave now." He looked at Amandla signaling her to follow him.

"Wait, what, I am not using the same car with you, I cannot guarantee my mental health after that."

Jess stopped and turned to her not bothering to hide his anger, which made his face red. "Use whatever you want, it doesn't even concern me." Amandla rolled her eyes and walked out first brushing past him.
