Horrible life (Edited)

With the help of a temporary nurse, Amy watched over grandpa. He was slowly regaining his strength and she was ecstatic, watching over him deprived her of much-needed time.

She would have to wake up, check on him, go to school, rush back home and check on him and if she didn't have class, she would check on him every five hours. It was as if she was babysitting him.

The only good thing was Jeff's absence in the house for a week, she could finally breathe without restriction, running around and being the leader with no one to question her. Even Stephanie hadn't set foot in the villa or maybe they went together, it didn't even concern her.

She had just finished checking up on the old man and was about to step away from the house and go work on her assignment with her group in a local library when she met Oliver in the living room.

She rolled her eyes and was about to pass him when he spoke. "Amy,"

"What?" she snapped. Having Jeff as a nuisance was already enough, having his three friends were just terrible.

"Why are you always edgy?"

"What do you want me to do, smile?" she used her hands to stretch her lips in a curve. "Satisfied?" she stared at him hard and walked away.

These people were surely going to be the death of her one day. The study session took a long while as they perfected their assignments for the next class' presentation. By the time she drove back to the villa, the sun was setting.

She dragged her feet inside the house and stopped when the familiar annoying voice hit her ears making her eardrums screech. "Amy, breath in and out," she comforted herself before setting foot in the house.

Quietly and as if he didn't exist, she walked past him but as usual, he had something to say. "Wait, Amy?"

She turned swiftly as if she was programmed. "Hmm?"

He smiled at her for the first time. And thou she hated him; she had to admit that he was good looking and that smile just looked perfect on his face. "I am your husband and I just got from a business trip, shouldn't you as my wife welcome me?"

"Welcome." She turned to leave; sometimes playing to his tune saved her the energy she would have wasted on arguing with him.

"Hey, that didn't sound warm."

That's it! The little patience she had vanished into thin air. "Are you mistaking me for Stephanie? Look I have dreadlocks and she doesn't, I am black and she is white, I don't know what you took before coming here but bro, I don't want to argue with you today."

Jeff's face turned ashen. Did anything ever work on this woman? Why was she hell-bent on hating him? Were they enemies in their past life?
