19 His personal Assistant

"Please," said Devin as he bend slightly, his hand currently stretched out as he directed her in. Taking one last deep breath, Aviana walked forward confidently before entering the office of the highest-paid CEO in the world. As the door closed behind her, Aviana finally laid her eyes on Mr Ethan Urkel. Standing on the window, his back to her, Aviana sighed as she slowed her pace. With his striking icy-blue eyes which reminded her of the beautiful sight of sun rays brilliantly reflecting off of the surface of the sea, he turned and looked deep into her eyes. His fair face looked almost pale, but his athletic body which could be seen due to his perfectly fitting 3-piece suit signified that this was a man whose body was at the peak of human condition.

His glossy black hair was combed back neatly, while his high cheekbones and sharp jaw gave his face a musculine look that would make anyone turn back to take a second glance. The straight, thin lips and the slightly sharp-pointed nose only served to enhance the image that Ethan Urkel represented:that of a perfect human male specimen which could take anyone's breath away, simply by looking at them. It wasn't any different with Aviana. This sight made her stop in her tracks as she stared at him for a second, wondering why such a man hadn't taken up modeling as a life career.

"Sit," he said, in a deep voice that seemed to resonate for a few seconds in Aviana's ears before registering its message in her mind.

"Thank you Sir," replied Aviana, unable to find other words to say to break the arkward silence, as she sat down as instructed by him.

Clearing his voice, he continued, "I've arranged everything. From today henceforth you'll be working as my personal assistant . Your work is to attend meetings with me, writing minutes and all that. Here is the document. Everything you need to know about your work is in there. About the salary, it's still in that document. Devin will guide you through the document incase you don't understand."

Taking the document into her hands, Aviana perused it, and he was right after all because she couldn't understand a word in the document. Seeing her creasing her eyebrows, he knew she couldn't understand. Taking his phone he dialed devin's number. "Hello Devin, come to my office now!" he spoke in a deep voice.

A moment later, Devin walked in, "Sir."

"Take her through the document," said Ethan. "Make sure she gets everything. And after that, tell Jenny to show her where she would be working from. When you're done, come to my office immediately. You can leave now." As he pushed out these words, he indulged himself in his work. Aviana stood to her feet as she walked side by side with Devin, and out of the office.

Immediately the door closed behind him, Ethan raised his head as he sighed deeply. Only God knows how hard he had been trying to keep himself calm, how hard he had been trying to control his heart which beat uncontrollably. She was the only woman who could take his breath away by just taking a look at her even for seconds.

Meanwhile, Devin was done explaining everything to Aviana and had left her in the hands of Jenny to guide her through the different rooms in the building. And to Jenny, it felt like she were being mocked. How could they assign to her this woman who had no class at all? she thought. Aviana knew very well the woman wasn't pleased at all. But she had to get used to it, because she would be seeing her more often. As they walked up the stairs, to the second floor, Jenny continued to explain to her as she showed her the various offices that belonged to various shareholders. "This is where the meeting is usually held," said Jenny as she pointed to the large and spacious room. "And this other room belongs to, Kelvin Urkel," she continued.

Hearing the name, Aviana was surprised. He has a brother? she thought. Her curiosity took the better of her. She so much wanted to know this brother of their boss. Whether he had the same feature as him, and was as good looking as him. But who could she ask? She couldn't ask, Jenny, who seemed not to like her from the beginning. Further more, she couldn't ask the man himself. She was no one to him.

'Anyways, we work in the same company, so eventually I will meet him,' she thought. With that in mind, she walked behind Jenny, like a slave following her master. "Why are you following me about? I'm already done with you. You can help yourself," said Jenny, in an irritated manner. Aviana couldn't believe it. She hadn't even shown her where she would be working from? Choosing not to argue with her, she asked politely,

"Please, can you show me my office?" Actually, jenny knew she hadn't shown her, her office. And she did it on purpose. With an evil grin, Jenny responded, in a tone that indicated she had forgotten, "Oops, my bad! I guess I just forgot! Now, if you really want to know where your office is, beg me to show you!" Aviana wasn't surprised at all. She had met people like her. Rather than arguing with her, she chose to beg her. "please show me my office?".

"Now that seems like it," replied Jenny who seemed to be satisfied. "The room opposite the ceo's office, that's your office," she continued. As soon as Aviana walked to her office, Jenny took her cell phone and made a call.

"Hello ma'am, she's now working in the company," she revealed before she hung up the phone, and glanced to the sides to make sure that no one had heard her. At the same time, Aviana had walked back. As soon as Jenny cut the call, and turned back, there eyes met. Jenny became nervous all of a sudden.

"I'm sorry to disturb you. I just came to pick up my bag." said Aviana as she picked her bag and walked away. She had heard what Jenny said, but didn't give much thought to it as she didn't understand what she were talking about.
