Lilian heard her phone ringing and checked the caller ID. She hissed and decided not to answer. It was him—had he already divorced Isabel? His divorces were usually quick.
She knew he was eager to marry her again instead of Isabel, but only foolish women like Isabel would marry a man who had divorced her sister.
Alex must think she was still the same naive woman he married before, someone he could manipulate. Despite Alex's persistent calls, Lilian ignored him, and he felt a bit discouraged.
After work, she decided to visit Aiden's Mansion for the first time. She arrived just as Katie was getting home from the office. Katie was thrilled to see Lilian, feeling like she finally had someone to confide in, and hugged her tightly for a long time.
"How are you, Katie? And the baby?" Lilian asked, pulling back to touch Katie's still-flat belly.
