9 Mind drifting on her.

I woke up with and my mind drifted right to that arrogant model, her face and the memory of our last fight. I clicked my tongue shaking my head to get out of her thoughts. The smile she gives whenever she's doing what she likes....... and........ her lips.... they were softer than a cotton candy...I can still feel the kiss I gave her that day. I didn't realize when my hands shifted to my lips and when did my lips start smiling.

"Ugh..." I shook my head, strong enough to make me feel dizzy.

I went inside the bathroom to freshen up. I came out and did my daily workout and sat at the dining table for breakfast. I didn't find Martin in the house. He's of 6 feet but still vanishes like a mouse. I thought of calling him after breakfast and started having it.

"Adam....." Dad called.

"Hmm?" I said looking at him.

"There are only 4 days left for your marriage and I think we should start the arrangements," Dad said hesitantly.

"Oh, I'll take care of everything," I said in a cold tone and continued eating my breakfast.

Dad opened his mouth to say something but shut it right after that. He too knows his words will be useless if they are to change my mind.

I had my breakfast and went back to my room. I took my phone from the bedside and dialed Martin's number to call. He answered after few rings.

"Yeah, buddy." He said in a cool tone.

"Where are you? I didn't find you at the breakfast." I asked, grabbing my iPad from the bedside table.

"Yeah... I just came out to run some errands. I'll be home by 15 minutes." He answered in a rather busy tone.

"Okkay." I ended the call.

There are literally 10 people working in this house and dad got only Martin to run errands?. I wasn't wrong to call them dicks. I sighed and started going through the paperwork and the progress.

There was a reason why we shouldn't keep too much weight on old people's shoulders. They are too weak to hold them.

Going through Lawrenson's financial statements made me realize how inefficient their management is. No wonder the companies are doomed. I was checking them, again and again, the more I scrutinize the more flaws pop out. It was my third time checking when I heard my bedroom door open.

I turned my gaze towards the door and saw Martin coming with a disposable coffee cup from star bucks.

"Where did you really go? To run errands at star bucks?" I asked raising one of my eyebrows.

"Buddy. I went out for work and found star bucks on my way...so, I thought you need one." He said while sitting on the couch next to me and placed the disposable coffee cup on the table.

"Did dad sent you out?" I asked and took the coffee cup.

"Mine or yours?" He asked with a teasing smile.

"Forget it," I said while sipping the coffee from the coffee cup.

"You sulk on small things, bud. My dad sent me and I also ran errands for Master too." He answered with a smile.

"Hmm. What did you find out from yesterday's work? Did you find anything unusual?" I asked after taking a deep breath.

"Like I said. I didn't find any new purchase of assets. I have checked every asset, both long-term and short-term. There are no new assets, but I found some receipts of new assets while going through the hard copy of ledgers from the accountant's office." Martin explained.

"Must be fake ones. Do you have a copy of those receipts?" I asked.

"Yeah. I took a pic of each, here" Martin said showing me his phone. I gave my coffee cup to him and took the phone from his hands. I was going through the receipts while Martin was drinking the coffee from my cup.

"Found something?" He asked while taking another sip from the coffee cup.

"I think so," I said hesitantly.

"What is it?" He asked leaning towards me.

"These receipts are from the new industries."

"What do you mean?" He asked scrunching his eyebrows in confusion.

"We normally buy any asset from Bluepoint industries since the time grandpa started this business.

We had an agreement with them regarding the purchases, but.....these receipts show that we purchased the assets from Blue dart industries. The name and logo look similar to the Bluepoint so no one found the change." I explained.

"So, if we go to blue dart we will get our answers, right?" Martin asked.

"Yeah," I said taking the coffee cup from his hands.

"Go and find out about this industry, use every way to find the person behind this," I said with a stern face and bossy voice and took a sip from the coffee cup.

"Okkay. I'll get our minions to work." Martin said while taking his phone.

"No. Martin go along with them. I trust no one in this situation, except you." I said looking at him.

"Okkay." Martin nodded his head while keeping his phone back in his pocket.

"And.... bring me Evelyn Lawrenson's phone number," I said after a big sigh and took the last sip of my coffee.

"Evelyn? Why?" Martin asked with half surprising half shocked face.

"Dad wants to start the marriage arrangements," I replied.

"I will arrange everything you need, don't bother about these things," Martin said with a scoff.

"It's fine. Taking care of marriage arrangements and finding the culprit will be a lot of burdens. I don't want you to stress about two things at the same time. Just give me her number I will take care of this marriage thing." I said and started continued checking Lawrenson's audit report.

"Such a caring gentleman." Martin smiled and left the room.

Going through the audit report and balance sheet of Lawrenson's taught me how not to run a company. I mean who in the fucking hell will spend billions on advertising?. I should check their marketing too. I sighed my head and started checking the marketing data.

After 15 minutes Martin came into my room and placed a stick note on the table beside the laptop I'm working on.

"Don't give her chills." He said with a smile and left the room taking out his phone to call his minions for the work I gave him.

I worked for some more time. I got a call from my secretary that the merging is going on and the contract will be available to sign after 6 days, which is on the next day of my marriage. I ended the call and searched for the wedding planners and got the best one out of it. I took off my glasses looking at the stick note Martin kept. I kept them on the table beside the laptop.

"At least I'm benefiting with something by marrying that arrogant," I said to myself sighing and dialed her number. The phone was ringing and I can't help but think of my unluckiest day.

"I can't believe, I'm pulling time for this nonsense," I said to myself while shaking my head.

"Why are you calling me?" Was the first question she asked as soon as she answered the call with the same arrogant tone as if I have called willingly. She's lucky that I don't hit girls or else she would be in ICU fighting for life.

"Don't overreact. No one wants to talk to you willingly." I replied with a cold tone.

"Then why the hell you have my number?" She asked. This woman doesn't even have the slightest amount of manners. I can't take my time out to teach her, such a pain.

"Then why the fuck you have mine?" I responded with a bit of an angry tone. I tried to stay so calm but this stupid girl never stops annoying me.

I was about to curse her and tell her the reason for the fucking phone call when I heard some familiar voice telling her to shut up.

"Lyn, try to listen to him. Don't use your hothead everywhere."

I scoffed after listening to that. I stayed silent for some time and after a minute I heard an exhaling sound and Evelyn spoke.

"Hello?"

"Hmm," I said controlling my laughter. She really is a hothead and a mess. This made me realize an incident that happened when were met for the first time.

"What 'Hmm'? Why did you call me?" She asked with an annoyed tone.

"I'm sending you a location. Meet me there at 3'O clock." I said with a cold tone and ended the call, without waiting for her reply. I know what will happen if I don't cut it now, I don't wanna end up cursing her.

I sent her the location of one of the wedding planners. I went inside the bathroom to take a shower. I came out and wore blue torn jeans with a white hooded t-shirt and accompanied it with a red bomber jacket that had thin white stips at the neckline, cuffs, and waistline and as a final touch, I wore red and white checked sneakers.

I took my car keys and on my way out I informed the wedding planner that I'm coming with my fiancee. Yeah, I hate saying that word but have to do it for the ruthless society that blindly follows the 'I believe in what I see' slogan.

I got into the car and drove to the place. I got off and went inside and the wedding planner greeted me. I knew it, that arrogant idiot doesn't have any time-sense. I waited for her for almost 30 minutes and then that stupid girl came along with a familiar face. I did saw that girl somewhere but I can't quite recognize her, I don't like to waste my memory on unnecessary things.
