{Chapter 6}:

"Okay that was fun, but I think it's time for bed." I say as I switch off the TV after our fourth Doctor Who episode finished.

I start to grab all the empty cutlery and pizza boxes, while Peter neatens up the living room. I head to our room again to change into some pajamas.

I exit the closet as Peter joins me looking at the bed uncomfortably.

"There's only one bed." He points out.

"Yeah, so? We've shared a bed tons of times before, what's so different about it this time?" I ask.

He shrugs; "Well we are married, so this kinda changes things for us a bit. I mean this isn't exactly a sleep over." Peter replies as he scratches the back of his neck.

"Sure it is!" I say to him and he looks really confused for a second. "All marriage really is, is a life time sleep over with your best friend or just a really official way of making a buddy system." I tell him walking a little closer.

He nods, impressed; "Well when you put it like that. It kinda makes sense I guess." I smile at him and hop onto the bed.

"This is soooo soft!" I say spreading out like a starfish. I grab Peter's hand and pull him down next to me on the bed. Both of us were lying starfish style and didn't even touch, that's how big the bed is.

I look at him. "See there's more than enough room for the both of us."

He gets up and goes to change into his pajamas, which, consists of bright pink pajama pants and a black shirt. I burst out laughing at the sight of him.

"What? Don't I look sexy to you?" He asks as he strikes a pose and pulls a duck face. I laugh even harder and fall off of the bed on the other side, making Peter almost pee his pants from laughing.

After more laughing we finally flop down onto the bed, tired and still giggling.

I roll over and look at Peter. "That was fun." I notice that our faces are really close, so with a sudden burst of courage I lean forward and kiss him on the lips. I pull away quickly and turn away, climbing under the covers. I switch off my bedside lamp with a quick 'goodnight' to Peter and I pretend to fall asleep.

Peter doesn't move for a good minute or two, but when he does he also climbs under the covers on his side and switches of the lamp with a soft 'goodnight' in response.

I wake up when my alarm on my phone goes off. 6:00 a.m.

I groan and sit up, looking over my shoulder at Peter. He's so cute when he sleeps. I think back to what I did last night and I lightly touch my lips at the memory.

I get up and stretch. I decide to make breakfast. Pancakes and coffee.

I head to the kitchen and get all the ingredients I need for the delicious breakfast.

Peter finally joins me an hour later, when the breakfast is almost ready.

He leans with his forearms on the island counter and smiles at me.

"What?" I smile over my shoulder as I look at him.

"Nothing," he sighs, "Just I never thought that something like this would ever happen. Now it happened, albeit in one of the most unusual ways possible, that I'm married and to my best friend nonetheless."

I smile and put a plate of pancakes and a mug of coffee in front of him.

"Aaaw. For that little speech, I think you deserve an extra pancake." I grab my own plate and coffee as I go to sit next to him to eat.

"By the way, good morning." I say as I lean in to peck his cheek. Peter did not get the message though as he turned his head and I accidentally kiss him smack dab on the lips. This time, he kisses back.

I pull away after a few seconds. "Woah. Where did you learn to kiss like that? I mean I don't remember you ever having a girlfriend."

Peter laughs. "I'm a natural I guess," he smiles cockily taking a huge bite of his breakfast, "And as for the girlfriend. I don't have one, I have a wife." He points at me with his fork.

I blush a glowing red and I pick up my coffee mug to take a sip and avoid eye contact. I just hear Peter chuckling at my reaction.

"Oh shut up." I try and push him off of his chair. This lightens the mood and the rest of our morning was spent joking around and enjoying each other's company.

Peter and I meet up with Ned at the subway, ready for our daily commute to school.

"Hey lovebirds." He greets us. "How was your weekend? How was the party?" Peter and I look at each other.

"It was..." Peter begins

"Interesting." I finish for him. "There was a lot of people that we didn't know, so we mostly stuck by each other most of the night."

Ned nods and then squints at us. "Something's different between you two." We just stare at him.

I suddenly realize that I hadn't taken off my ring and neither had Peter. I grab his left hand with my right one to hide his ring, as I hold onto the railing by my head, effectively hiding mine.

Ned looks at our hands and squeals loudly. "No way! You two FINALLY got together. Yesss my ship has sailed!"

Peter and I just stare at him dumbfounded. Peter lets out a nervous giggle. "Yeah, together." I give his hand a squeeze. He and Ned continue to chat excitedly about the new Star Wars movie that came out and I stand and smile at those two nerds.

Suddenly my phone vibrates in my pocket. I look down to see another missed call from my dad. I just ignore it. My parents have been trying to contact me all weekend, even Tony gave it a go. I only answered his call long enough to tell him to 'piss off' and that was it.

I am very mad with my parents and I will try and avoid them for as long as I possibly can.

Peter notices my change in mood leans in to kiss my temple, earning an even louder squeal from Ned.

"You guys are so cute!"

I smile as I see Peter waiting by my locker as usual. When he sees me he smiles and leans in to greet me with a quick kiss on the lips.

"Hey. How was your day?" I ask as I open my locker to pack my bag for the afternoon.

"It was good. Flash didn't bother me at all today. You?" I nod and close my locker.

"Same. Wanna go to Delmar's to grab some lunch on the way home?"

Peter smile and grabs my hand. "Sure my treat."

With that we walk out of the front doors and off of the school premises.
