48 The Truth

"She came for me!" A voice was heard from behind as she turned to see who it was...

...a blue-eyed beast, its mouth couldn't contain the fangs as it poked out from the creature's mouth. A straight mark across its left eye and his cheek.

Ariel gazed closely at the vampiric-looking beast but it didn't spare her a glance, as the creature was after the water demon, who has a smile plastered on her face.

"Well, well, look who is here to rescue my princess." The water demon said, clapping her watery transparent hand.

"She's my princess, not yours." Came the creature's audible voice.

The princess in question was behind the hideous monster. The creature comes to rescue her, in her dreams. She remembered he once told her that his name was Vlad.

A beautiful name for an ugly monster. Ariel thought.

Yes, she have heard and read about vampires but this...this creature...she didn't know how to describe it.

But why would it describe her as his princess? Why did he call her that?

Her thoughts were cut short by the voice of the water demon.

"Your princess? Does she know your true individuality...huh?" The water demon turned to Ariel with a threatening look. "I'm gonna tell her everything if you don't let her go with me." The water demon threatened.

What does this demon have to tell her?

"The truth!" Came the demon's voice as if she read Ariel's mind.

Truth?!

"Don't listen to this crazy demon?" The creature named Vlad worriedly said.

Ariel could see another being inside of the creature talking through him but she couldn't point a finger at who it was.

"Worried now?" The demon smirked...

"She'll know the truth once the time comes but for now I'm not going to let you take my princess," Vlad said with an angry tone.

Ariel was lost in the dark once again. She didn't know about the damn truth they were arguing on.

"Follow me and I'll tell you the meanings of your dreams." The water demon said with a hypnotic voice, facing Ariel, stretching her watery transparent hand towards her.

Ariel was hypnotized by her voice and didn't know how she started walking in the demon's direction like a zombie. Meanwhile, Vlad was furious. He pounced on the water demon but she was made of water so he didn't get through to her.

The demon let out an evil laugh.

"Don't push me..." She warned with a straight face and she focused her attention on the hypnotized princess.

"The aura of the river is not conducive for her." Vlad panicked.

He didn't want the princess to die for his selfish reasoning.

"I'm here, she won't die. Besides, the aura of the river doesn't affect her that much." The water demon said as she backed up her assertion with proof. Princess Ariel was standing by the shore of the river. The breeze blew heavily, lifting her gown.

Vlad was tight-lipped. Why did the aura of the river not affect Ariel?

If it was to be human or a mere being. They would have slumped before the blink of an eye. The person might be feasible to die.

Since the ambiance of the river wasn't affecting Princess Ariel, Vlad was curious to know who she was. Her hidden identity. What was she hiding from him?

The water demon chortle evilly as she was able to deviate his thought to thinking about Ariel's other identity. She instantly grabbed the princess's hand, even though her hand was made of water, her grip was tight.

Vlad saw the scene and came back to his connotations.

"You dare not take her with you!" Vlad imperiled. As he sauntered towards their direction and grabbed the princess's hand, putting her behind him, far from the demon's reach.

He must get rid of her, or else...

...things might get worst for him.

"You can't get rid of me, Vlad. I'm going to tell her the truth." The water demon angrily said.

But Vlad was quick to make a move. By the shore of the river, he took some fine sand with his large palms and poured it on the demon's body.

The demon was taken aback by his sudden actions because she was busy persuading Ariel that had gotten over her hypnotized state to follow her.

A loud cry was heard. The demon's body separated as it returned to the evil water. Where it belonged to.

Vlad heaved a sigh of relief as this was already tiring for him. He remembered Princess Ariel's predicament and turned to face her.

He held her arms, but she was stiff. Her body was cold and pale.

This woman has suffered a lot.

He shook off the cold from her body, but she was still unmovable. There was no difference between her and a statue now.

It took a long while before she forced her eyes open. Thinking about what happened made her head hurt. She searched around looking for Vlad and the water demon but all that she was seeing was a painted block and well-arranged cupboard. An arranged like of books and her clothes before her. She was also lying on top of a comfy bed. Her maids were also present. It was like she had woken up in another realm.

Unfortunately for her, she woke up in her room.

Ariel caused her stars for bringing her this kind of bad luck. Her dreams were getting creepy and she didn't understand why the so-called water demon wanted her. And Vlad....where was that beast that saved and frightened her.

Fear was body written on her face as she hugged herself tightly. Sabre noticed the look on her mistress's face and went on to confront her. What right does she have to do that though? The princess looks like a frightened kitty.

"Milady, it's just a nightmare."

Of course, Sabre knew she had a nightmare. It was obvious. Waking up with a loud cry with sweats all over her body is enough to tell that the princess had a bad dream.

But someone was keeping a close eye on the frightened princess without any of them noticing.
