I hummed as the crimson doors of the palace opened. My nephew Hideyoshi walked in. His eyebrows rose, evidently surprised to see me waiting for him.

"Heh, Auntie Cy. Were you waiting for me?" he asked, smiling.

"Yes," I said, pushing against the wooden pillar I had been leaning against. "I was wondering if you know what happened to my two ghouls."

He blinked. "You mean the two ladies you used to free father?"

She nodded. "I asked your father, but he seemed to have no idea. He just said they disappeared, likely with my mother's friend."

"Well, that's all I know too. I realized too late when they were gone."

Right. Shortly after my brother was freed, I had lost control of them. My mother's friend must've done something to override my control over them. Normally, I wouldn't care about two insignificant nurses, but what I hated was that someone had cut my control.
