37 The Teenager

On the other hand Vivi grew up to be a very silent and reserved type of girl. Over the years she totally forgot about Inir. When she joined the school at first, she was kind of relaxed and thought it was good to be away from home. But after some time she got to know that this school was boring even subjects were boring as she has already learned few things with Inir. After one year she complained about the school being boring and she already learned these things to her mother who went to her school to check on the same.

She also had another reason because she learnt from David that Nina will also join in this school this year and she didn't want that to happen. David seems to be happy with Nina's arrival at school and she didn't mind them being together but she didn't want to be with Nina. But it was true that she learnt everything before and this school was indeed boring. But she didn't mention the other reason to anyone.

So her mother took her to another school, after checking her abilities the school principal said she can be double promoted and can be admitted directly to the third grade. Both mother and daughter went around and checked the school. It was indeed better school in terms of studies. They were very strict with the studies and sports. But the one which David is studying is very lively and had a friendly environment. But Vivi was not interested in being friends with anyone. So she asked to go to this school.

After Samuel heard that his daughter got double promoted in her school he was doing a mental dance in his mind. But was calm outside. He accepted immediately for new school. Whatever his daughter wanted she will get. Jasmine understood that and was sighing at the corner. How good it would be if Vivi understood her parents love for her. But she always kept a distance with everyone.

Nina also wanted to go to the school her sister went to but when she came to visit her brother's school she like it more and she wanted go there. Without any further ado Samuel accepted it. He also didn't want to make his lucky star upset.

Thus the kids grew together but away from each other. As they grew they had different set of friends, hobbies and even behavior. Nina was very outgoing and friendly. David was very careless but responsible. But Vivi was very silent, mysterious. She doesn't talk much. She had only 2 friends since her 4th grade. But they were also not so close. Mostly like a study group. She doesn't smile much. But she was a Beauty when she smiles but someone has to pay to make her smile. It easy to say that she didn't have anything worth smiling. So just ignored everything.

If she was not really needed she wont even be present in many occasions.

Samuel was very strict to everyone that no one should disturb Vivi in any of her decision so she always grew like silent and aloof person. only he knows that she is still his sunshine who always clutch to the corner of her bedsheet when she sleeps. He will always go to her room after she sleep and kiss her on her forehead and then only he can sleep.

Nina also knew that her father liked her sister but never showed it to her but she felt very sorry for her sister. She came to know from her brother about her father scolding her sister in their childhood and also that her sister stayed away from their home until she was five. She even felt guilty when she heard how her sister used to be afraid of her. She also liked her sister very much but her sister become more and more distant from her family members so she didn't want to disturb her peaceful life. But she has also noticed how protective oh her Vivi was since she remembers. She never let any neighborhood children bully her and will always protect her. But will not stick to her. So she was happy and content to have such a sister.

When Vivi was in her 9th grade, during her finals she was suddenly affected from dengue and got admitted in hospital. When Samuel went to bade goodnight to his daughter he noticed that she was looking very tired and her body temperature was too much. Immediately he tried to wake her. But she was unconscious and was not responding. He immediately carried her in his hands and went to hospital without informing anyone.

The doctors checked her and said it was definitely fever and also fatigue. But they have run blood test then only can give accurate results. So after test they concluded that her blood cell count was very less and chances of Dengue is there. That is when he noticed that he didn't bring his mobile phone. He went to the reception and informed Jasmine. As it was midnight he told her to stay put at home and watch over the kids.

Jasmine came along with David early in the morning. when they heard that Dengue was confirmed and she will be admitted in the hospital until she recovers, Jasmine was devastated. She always felt guilty for Vivi's low immunity. Over the years Vivi always involved in many sports activities but her body will feel very week after every sports meet.

"Don't cry mom. It's not your fault. She was preparing for her finals. She was getting up early in the morning and studying. She might have gotten bit by the mosquito. Dengue does not come from air. don't worry. She will be alright" David tried to comfort her.

"You get ready and go to college. Also watch out for your sister. She will try to get lazy and not study for her finals. I will stay here with Vivi. Dad has to go to work" Jasmine is not someone who will collapse easily.

"I will stay with my daughter. I can't work when she is in the hospital fighting for her life" Samuel was not ready to leave his daughter's side now.

David look at the two people and then left the hospital. When he reached home, Nina was still sleeping. He went over and woke her up. "Get up . get up you sleepy cat. Vivi is not feeling well so mom and dad will be at hospital taking care of her for few days. come let's get you to school"

When she heard Vivi was ill, she shot up from the bed "What happened to sister?"

David smiled at her. He knew her better than anyone else. She was always close to him. She also loved Vivi just like how she loves him. But Vivi never understood her. She was also not at fault it was all because something happened at the childhood but she way too much affected by it.

"She got dengue so has to be hospitalized. So you too be careful. Always close your room windows and be covered all the time"

"Okay mother hen. Now let me get ready"

She also wanted see her sister but she didn't want to disturb her at the same time.

Vivi was hospitalized for more than a month to fully recover from Dengue. But she was still week. So when she returned home, she was always resting at home. She knew that more than a month has passed and she has repeat her 9th grade with her juniors. She didn't have a choice. She was gloomy and always sitting near the window looking outside. She was missing something. She always knew that something was missing from her. That is why she always kept herself busy to fulfill the void. She will either study, play or do some sports. But now as she was resting she felt even more sad.

Inir got to know about Vivi's illness on second day. He immediately came to the hospital from the college. He saw her through the glass door. She looked tired and pale. When Samuel came back from canteen after having a coffee, first thing he saw was Inir standing at the door and watching Vivi with face full of longing and love. All the adults knew that Inir always kept tabs on Vivi's life. He use to visit her from afar but never come in front of her or disturbed her life. So they also never had a chance to confront him. He was also doing well with his studies and other activities so they can't even question him. After few years they all came to know that Vivi has become his motivation so they also didn't say anything.

Samuel went to him "She is still in critical stage. I will call you once she recovers. You can come and visit her. No one will stop you"

"No uncle. I will not come to her yet. I am still the same Inir when you took her away from me. I haven't become strong yet to keep her by my side. Until that I will never interfere in her life. Even as a friend. Let her enjoy her single life to the fullest" Once she comes to me, no one can take her away from me. He didn't want to be too domineering In front of her father so kept the last words to himself.
