35 The possessive Inir

At the village, Inir was living his life in heaven, with Vivi always beside him. The schools in the village are not as strict, so Vivi use to tag along with Inir to his school and sit with him. Don't know why but she liked the place. Inir will take his school bag on his bcak and Vivi's bag in one hand and her hand in another. They both will go to school. Though the teachers knew there was a 2 years kid sitting in the class room they didn't mind much. James family was a well known family in the village so they left the two kids to their wishes.

The village was not so big, so everyone in the village knew that Vivi was Inir's little bride. Whenever they go outside together the old people use to tease them about how good they look together and everything. Vivi didn't understand anything. But without any reason Inir felt happy and proud.

Vivi usually sits beside him. Inir's bag was full of his books and school item, while Vivi's bag was filled with snacks. She was a cute little girl, with a small bag filled with snacks. She immediately attracted so many kids in the class. Nancy was a great cook, she has seen many snacks in the shops of the T town and she use to try them in house, which ever turns good she will pack it specially for Vivi, who will bring that obediently to the school and even share with other kids. When Nancy come to the school in the afternoon to deliver lunch for Inir, she will pick up Vivi with her take her back to home. Nancy and James always hoped to have a daughter so they were fond of her and Vivi being their future daughter in law made Nancy love her to her heart's content.

Inir was also very good with his studies. But there was something wrong with him that the parents didn't know if it is good or bad. For the whole year Vivi kept going to T town and coming back after few days as she was not comfortable with Nina's presence. Even though James and Nancy were happy to have Vivi in their house, but they were worried about the sisters. Eventually she has to accept her sister and get along with her.

When left alone Vivi was a bright and obedient kid, but when she saw Nina she will become very afraid and run away. Even after so many months passed, she was still reacting the same. So without any further ado they kept her to stay in the village.

Again came the next summer holidays, this time Samuel decided to send both the kids along with Jasmine to the village so as to spend the holidays. Vivi was very happy to meet her family, but this time she didn't run away after watching Nina, but totally ignored her presence. Nina was already a toddler, she was also running behind the kids but she was still small so she was always left behind and Vivi never even acknowledge her.

Nina was actually very happy to meet Vivi. She was very much fond of her in just two days. She always runs behind her and copy whatever Vivi was doing. Vivi also didn't mind her so nothing big was happening. But the elder instructed the boys to watch over the girls as they are still small. David being the big brother always watch behind him for his sisters and he was quite annoyed with that as well. All the boys will run past him and he will be left behind because of his sisters. So turned and told Vivi

"Vivi, see Nina is also our sister, so watch her and don't miss her"

But Vivi didn't even give him a face and ran past him. Those little legs were quite fast, she was actually little fast but she always runs slower because Nina was coming behind her always. She was afraid that if something happens to Nina, her father and mother will only scold her. But now as David was looking behind him so she didn't care and ran after Inir, who was waiting for her.

Inir took her hand and went find other kids. He was really annoyed with Nina, because of her only Vivi was having so many problems. So he didn't have any positive thoughts about Nina. But still she is Vivi's sister so he didn't mind her.

After this summer holidays also Vivi didn't want to leave the village and her parents also didn't mind her because her emotional stability is important. But for everyone's surprise, Nina was the one who was very adamant that she want to stay with her sister. She can already talk, but she can only call Jasmine as Ma and Samuel as Da but she was clearly calling Vivi as Vivi. She didn't call her sister as no one taught her so. But as everyone was calling her Vivi baby, she also called her Vivi. So when Jasmine came to take, Nina was holding Vivi's hand and crying "Vivi.. Vivi.. Vivi baby".

David started laughing when she called Vivi as baby. Vivi was afraid as Nina was crying because of her, she suddenly looked at her father who came to pick them "Sorry father. I didn't do anything". Samuel was really sad when he noticed how she was thinking that they are going to scold her, especially himself. He smiled bitterly and took Nina and gave her to Jasmine and left he house.

Inir was very angry on Nina as she was trying to take Vivi from his house, so when Samuel left the house he took Vivi's hands and pulled her towards him, afraid that she might leave. Jasmine just ruffled his hair and left with Nina. David said good bye to everyone and left the house as well.

This was same for next two years. Every time they come to see Vivi, Nina was getting more and more fond of her but Vivi was always afraid of her. But she was also very protective of her. She didn't acknowledge her as her own sister but she took her as one of their family's important asset.

If she had anything she will first give to Nina, only if she doesn't want it she will take it for her, except for the things Inir gives her. Without her notice, she was quite possessive of Inir. She will never let Inir and Nina get close to each other. He was her only person, she didn't want to lose him to Nina. Who knows what will happen in the future. But Nina was not at all concerned about Inir, her only concern was her sister.

As Vivi was going to School with Inir she already started to write watching Inir. She can even read few words. She can recite some poems. So the adults were happy with her.

Years went, Vivi has become five years and this year she has to go to school. James and Nancy suggested that Vivi can join in Inir's school itself. Even though they were saying that but Nancy was a little reluctant. Samuel noticed it immediately and asked her " What happened Nancy? Is Vivi giving any troubles here? Anyway I am planning to take her with me. so please be frank. You know we not in formal relationship. You can tell us anything"

"No no.. It's not about Vivi. She is such a wonderful child. Actually it is Inir. His behavior is not normal. Specially around Vivi. I think it would be better if he and Vivi stayed apart from each other, time to time" Nancy always thought Inir was behaving properly.

"What happened Nancy?" Jasmine was not happy with the way she said. "Did Vivi do anything? I know she is a little possessive about him. It was because we, as parents didn't let her properly in our care"

"No no.. Vivi can never be a better kid. She was perfect, but Inir was becoming an adult already. I think it is better if the kids can be away from each other until they can at least understand about everything. Inir does not have any friends from either school or neighborhood. Same for Vivi. Even after school he come directly home. Viv is only one in his world. It was also my fault because when he started to take Vivi to his school I thought it was better for her to get along with other kids. But nowadays it is getting more and more trouble as Inir is not allowing any other kid to get close to her even in school. But Vivi doesn't mind at all. She will follow his words as if they are mantras. If he tells her not to come to school, he will give her some work to do and go to school. She will be home obediently and do the works. And in the evening he will come back immediately after school. Never leaves her side. I don't think it is healthy for the kids at this age to live like this. So why don't we put Vivi in a school in T town along with David?" Nancy explained everything and put a suggestion as well.

Jasmine and Samuel also felt that it was better to keep them apart for few years. Everyone knows that Vivi was emotionally dependent on Inir, she doesn't want him to leave her side, so she will follow his words.

"You don't need to feel bad to tell these things. It not just about Inir but also Vivi. She is more obedient because she feels that Inir might leave her if she didn't follow his words. It is indeed not good for them to behave like that now. I will better take her home and put her in a school there" Samuel replied.
