6 A Flight

Irene was woken up by the loud alarm clock at 5:30. She felt like dashing it again the wall but changed her mind.

"It's just doing it's job" she thought.

When she was about to leave the house at around 6:30, she woke up Jamie, left him some money and hurried out of the house in order to get to work early.

At around 7:00 Irene was already at work. She settled down into her office and placed a framed picture of her, Jamie and Aulia on the desk before proceeding to go through the files handed to her the day before. When she was at around 9:00, while sitting leisurely she got a call from Aulia.

"Why didn't you call me when you got back yesterday?" Aulia asked

"I was really tired, my boss made me go to this party and my heels were killing me" Irene replied.

"Speaking of your boss, Is he as hot as he looks in the pictures?" Aulia said.

"Yup, but he's quite unapproachable, I wonder how he's friends with that guy" Irene said as she rests into her chair.

"What guy, is he good looking?" Aulia asked.

"tell me about him" she added

Irene rolled her eyes as she proceeded to tell Aulia about her encounter with David.

"So in a nutshell you think he's annoying" Aulia said

"Yup" Irene replied.

Just then the telephone on Irene's desk rang.

"I'll see you later" she said as she cut the phone and picked up the telephone.

"Hello"

"My office,now"

She didn't even need to think to know who it was. Irene instantly got up.

"Come in" Kevin's voice rang out from his office. Irene made her way into his office.

"What's on today's agenda" he asked

"You have a few investee and investors to meet" she replied

"There's also reports of the embezzlement investigation from the security team, there are evidences of embezzlement"

"Fire the employees, blacklist them and sell assets that have been confiscated from them" he replied

"Sir you also have meeting with the management team at 12:30"

"After you also have another meeting with the trading department at 2:00"

"I have also booked your flight to Malaysia for the meeting with the president of Rose plum resort, on Friday" she concluded.

"Did you just book a flight for just me" he asked

"Yes sir"

"It says in your job description that you travel with me when needed on business trips, so pack your bags" he said

"Yes sir" she replied

"Do some research on the hotels I'm about to send an email about, you should get it right about..... now" he said

"You can go" he ended

Irene wordlessly walked out. She unconsciously let out a long sigh.

"Why is he so tense?"

"How am i gonna get used to this?" She though to herself while opening her emails. She set alarms for 12:25 and 1:55.

After the meeting with the trading department, Irene took out her lunch as she felt a bit famished from the different meetings she had to sit through. She was barely halfway through her food when the telephone on her desk rung.

"Where's my food?" The voice demanded.

"I didn't think I was in charge of your food sir" Irene replied, confused.

"Well you are, so hurry along and get my food" he replied

"Yes sir" Irene replied as she puts on her shoes

"What should I get sir?"

"Check the file that was given to you and memorise it"

"Yes sir" Irene replied as she reached for the file at the edge of the table.

Having skimming through the food part of the file and having an idea of where to go get food Irene hurriedly went out to get his food.

At the end of the day Irene trudged home to her brother.

"Sister the light is still out I thought since you got a job you could pay for it?" Jamie asked

"I'm gonna pay when I get my salary at end of the month, please bare with me till then"

"I only have money to feed us till the end of the month and we have to be frugal" she added

"What's for dinner?"

"Leftover rice and stew"

"Also Jamie on Friday I won't be here I'm going on a business trip with my boss I'll be back on Sunday. You'll stay with Aulia, I'll talk to her"

"Where are you going" he asked

"Malaysia"

While eating Irene got a call from Aulia.

"Yo girl, how was your day" Aulia's voice rang out of the phone.

"Pretty good" Irene replied.

"You're so lucky that you get to spend the whole day with that eye candy"

"It's not all bed of roses, he's so tense and cold".

"He literally made me go get him food while I was eating" Irene added

"Couldn't you have just told him you were eating"

"And fired"

"You could have just ordered"

"Omg you're right, i'm just gonna do that next time"

"Aulia could you let Jamie stay with you on Friday, I'm going on a business trip to Malaysia with my boss. I'll be back on Sunday"

"Yeah sure anything for you babes"

"Thanks"

"So how was your day" irene asked

"Boring as always"

After talking to Aulia for a few minutes, Irene headed into her room.
