Ren couldn't believe it. He certainly knew that it wasn't within the boss's good nature to actually give him a harsh punishment. But he did expect some words of disappointment, at least. Not this. He had taken hours to mentally prepare himself, for he truly thought that this would be the day that the boss would change his perceptions on him. That the boss might think that he wasn't as loyal as he wanted him to believe.

That wasn't to say he wasn't relieved after seeing the boss's reaction either. But that didn't change the confusion that swam inside his head, how he deliberated the thought of the boss letting this matter slip.
