Chapter 24

Felix didn't leave until I felt okay. He's just beside me. He's holding my hands to make me calm, just like before when we were kids.

Even if years passed, my brother knows how to calm me and to make me feel safe. We kight not be together for the last 8 years, but I know that the love they have for me will never diminish.

"You okay?" Felix asked.

I nodded. "Yeah..." he looked at me for a few seconds.

"Then... would you help me?" He said while fixing my hair with his hands.

"Help you with what?

"Our dinner." He smiled.

I know he's doing this to make me forget about my dream earlier. So I agreed.

"Sure."

We decided to cooked carbonara and grilled chicken for our dinner. I totally forgotten about my dream earlier and Felix told me to help but what I actually doing was just to watch him.

"I thought I'll help you?" I asked.

"I change my mind, just watch me, okay? Let me prepare food for you." He said while stirring the pan with carbonara sauce.

"Then why did you make me wear apron?" I said then showed him the apron that he made me wear earlier.

He stared at me then smiled. "So we're wearing matching aprons. It's cute, right?"

I chuckled and rolled my eyes at him. "Whatever."

When we, I mean when Felix finished cooking the food. We prepare for the plates. In midst of it, we heard the door opened, it was Calix who just entered.

"Right timing, we're done cooking the food." Felix said.

Calix removed his necktie and put his coat at the sofa. "Oh, yeah. I'm famish."

The three of us sat at the chairs at the dining room then started eating.

"Kyle," Calix called me. "After eating, I'll take you to Rewick."

'Oh, yeah. I forgot.' I felt sad because of that. I really forgotten about it. I'm too preoccupied of my reunion with my brothers.

I saw Felix lowered his hands down. "He's not staying here for tonight?"

'Shit, he didn't know about my real intention of going here.'

Calix spoke. "No, he's---" he didn't finish his sentence when his phone rang. "Wait a sec." He stand up and went at the living room. Leaving me and Felix alone.

Felix started asking me. "I thought your spending your night here?"

I shook my head. "Nope, sorry. It was a sudden visit, I can't. Though I really want to stay, I still have a lot things to do tomorrow."

"Is that so? I hoping to spend more time with you. I thought I could finally do it now." He tapped my shoulder. "Sorry Kyle, if you're brothers had no more time to be with you." He said apologetically.

"No." I shook ky head. "It's fine. I'm no more kid. I'm fine without you guys."

He just stared at me. "Oh..."

"Yep, so no need to be bother about me. Just focus on your life here at Laliola." I said then smile.

Well, if not because I thought I'm pregnant, I think I would never visit them. Plus the fact that mother and father won't allow me to live here. My sudden made me relize something.

'My brothers and I have our own lives to focus on.'

We're not same Calix, Felix and Kyle anymore. We're more individuals than brothers. And I thought, living with them would just put another change in their environment. They're used of themselves, I cannot do anything about it now.

Also, I can't help but to think about mother and father. It'll only disappoint them if I'll push throught my idea of living here.

"Yeah..." Felix whispered.

We continued eating without anyone talking, later, Calix entered the dining room again. I saw him fixing his sleeves and then he put his coat on. I went to him.

"Who's that?" I asked. "Ain't you going to finish your food?"

He shook his head. "Sorry, I can't." He said. "There's an emergency at the hospital. The other doctors requested me to be there. "

"Then who'll take me home?" I asked.

I saw Calix clicked his tounge. "Shit." He bit his thumb. "Come on, finish your food. I'll take---"

Calix didn't finish his sentence when Felix stood up and grabbed my arms.

"No, go ahead. I'll take him home." He said firmly.

"But---"

"It's fine Calix. It's not like Felix will trouble me right?" I said. "Now go, I know it's important."

He sighed and ruffled my hair. "I'm going. Visit us again, okay?"

I nodded. "Of course."

He tapped Felix's shoulder. "I'm going."

Felix just nodded. After that, we went with Calix to the garage and bid him goodbye. When his car vanished, Felix spoke.

"Let's finish our food." I nodded in response.

We finish our food. I'm fixing myself while Felix is washing the dishes.

"I'm not finish yet, go wait me at the living room." Felix said.

"Okay."

I did what I was told. While sitting on the sofa at the living room, I remember something which is very important.

'I forgot to call my alpha!'

I face palm. I grabbed my phone inside my pocket and try to call my alpha. I heard the call tone but it suddenly went off.

'Eh? He's not answering the call.'

I'm about to call him but my phone beeped. I received a message. I opened the message and I smiled when I saw the sender. It was my alpha.

'Sorry, I can't answer it. I'm in the middle of something. Why did you call?' That's the message contained.

I composed a reply. 'Oh, sorry. I'll just call later.' Sent.

After a minute, I received his reply. 'Sorry, I don't think I have excess time later. I have something to do after this.'

My shoulders dropped. 'Oh, it's fine. I'll call tomorrow. Goodnight.'

I let my body lay on the sofa and I covered my eyes with my right arm.

I thought he wouldn't reply but my phone beeped. So I immediately opened it.

'Text it to me, then I'll be the one to call you tomorrow. I'm kinda worried about you. How's the test? I'm really nervous. The thing is, I don't know what to say.'

I smiled, my heart fluttered. 'It's negative...' I replied.

After a minute, my phone rang. It was my alpha. I answered him.

"You said you can't call..." that was the first thing I said.

"Sorry..." he's familiar voice made my heart jumped. "I'm just really nervous earlier, I don't know what to say..." he added. "And... you're not pregnant, I don't know what to feel..."

"Are you happy that I'm not pregnant?" I asked him.

I heard him sighed. "Pregnant or not, I'll be always happy since now that I have you." He said.

"But having a child is not bad, right?" I murmured. I think he heard it because he answered immediately.

"I know, I know. Give this relationship time, I swear, I'll give to dozen of kids if that's what you want. Just soon, okay?" He said. I chuckled becaus of his words. The burden that I'm feeliing suddenly lifted.

"Dozen? That's much!" I said jokingly.

"It's fine, I have savings. I can take care of you and our future child." He said.

I sneered. "Wow, earlier you're like nervous about the possibility that I'm pregnant, now, you're you confident of yourself and savings. Wow, my alpha. Just wow."

"Geez, you're too sarcastic." He said. "But I mean it."

"I know." I asked. "I really love your voice..."

I heard him chuckled. "Oh, you're flirting with me?"

I rolled my eyes. "Ha ha ha. Funny." I said with sarcasm. "I'm serious, I love it." I added. "No... I love every part of you..."

He whispered something. "I love you too." But I can't hear it.

"Pardon?" I asked. "You said something."

"I speak nothing." He said.

A minute passed. "My alpha..."

"Hmm?"

"What if you really got me pregnant? What will you do?" I said.

"Well, I gonna ask your parents for your hand." he said. "And oh, I'm about to go at your house here at Rewick if that happened."

'Huh?'

"What are you---" the line went off. I'm about to called me when someone call my name.

"Kyle." I startled because of it. Shock was drawn over my face when I saw Felix behind, holding his phone and carkeys. "Sorry, did I startled you?"

"Huh? No..." I said. I composed myself even though I'm really shock.

'This is my alpha's fault! What the fuck is that?'

"Then let's go?" Felix said. I nodded. While we're walking out of the house, I composed a message for my alpha.

'What was that all about, my alpha? You're on your way to Rewick? What do you mean?' That was the message I sent.

I was putting my phone at my pocket when I heard Felix's phone beeped. I was looking at him when he's reading it. Then he smiled and looked at me.

"It's Calix." He said while smiling. "Let's go?" I nodded.

We're inside the car. The atmosphere we had at the dining room changed into blissful one. He started to talked to me again which made me happy.

"Have you played the game set that I gave you?" I nodded.

"Yes! It was the best! The graphics was superb! I never thought I could have it. I tried to looked for it at the Rewick but I found nothing. Even in the comic convention that I attended before, they don't have the stocks. Good thing you send me those!" I said in glee. "Thanks a lot Felix!"

He ruffled my hair with his free hand, his other hand is holding the car's steering wheel.

"I'm glad you like it." He said.

"Like? No, I love it!" I said.

He smirked. "Love, eh?" He said. "Do you want me to get you the action figures of that game set? I have a friend who's selling the collection."

"Su---" I stopped. "N-No need, hehehe. I'll just buy it after graduation."

Oh no, I forgot. I have the action figures at my alpha's place at Atlis. It was my alpha's gift for my birthday. He bought it although I'm wondering how did he knew that I loved that games set.

'What a stalker. '

"Eh? But I can't buy it for you." He said.

I shook my head. "I want to buy it as my graduation gift for myself."

"Oh then, I'll ask my friend to save you one collection set. Is that okay?"

I nodded. "Of course! Thanks Felix. You're spoiling me a lot."

"Those things were not enough to pay our years of absence." He said. "So just let me give you everything you need. Don't hesitate to asked anything from me. Understand?"

"Yes! I'll keep that in my mind."

A moment passed. Felix stopped his car a little away from our house. "Why did you pull over here?"

"It's little crampy there, my car won't fit." He said.

"Then I'm going out." I said. "Thanks for driving me here."

He smiled. "Of course, if my li'l bro needs me, I'm always here! 24/7!"

I chuckled. "What are you? Convenient store?"

He shook his head. "Nope!" He said, popping the 'p' sound. " I'm a convenient bro!"

"Corny. " I said. I removed my seatbelt. "Bye, Felix. "

"Bye, Kyle. Till next time."

I hopped out his car. I waited for his car to vanished before going inside our house. When I entered the house, I saw mother and father at the living room.

"I'm home." I announced.

"Welcome, home." Father said. "How's your day?"

"Amanda and Leo went with me at the library. We just study there for our entrance exam." I lied. They knew nothing about me going at Laliona.

"Oh, yeah. Have you thought your desired university?" Mother asked.

I nodded. "Rewick University, maybe." I said. I saw relief in their faces. My main choice was university in Laliola but yeah, they wouldn't allow me. "I'm heading to my room."

"Eat first. " said mother.

"I've eaten already. Thanks for ask---"

The doorbell rang.

"Kyle, can you looked at it?" Mother asked.

I sighed and nodded. I headed out and opened the gate. Strangely, I found no one outside.

"What was that? Prank?" I hissed.

I was about to go inside when I noticed something sticking at our gate. An envelope. I get it and opened it.

I was really dumbfounded when I see and read what's inside. I looked around, hoping that the one who delivered it was still around but I found nothing. There's no single person or even silhouette. Then, I looked at the paper again and read the letter once more.

'I love you. That's what I said earlier. I love you, now and forever. '
