Chapter 14

Our research group already finish collecting the 80% of our the respondents' answer. We also encoded those answer. The rest of the respondents' answer will be gathered this day.

"See you Kyle after 3 days!" Anna said, one of my research groupmate.

"Yes! We'll handle it!" Angelo said, also my other groupmate. "I don't want to taste your wrath if we fail to accomplish it." He said jokingly... or not?

"Thank you guys, don't worry I'll do the interview with the last dominant alpha respondent. " I said.

"Sure, here's the clear copy of the questionnaire." Andie, also my groupmate, said. She gave me the copy.

I took the paper. "Thanks, Andie."

"You guys going home?" Leo asked. The three of them nodded. "Oh, take care. Kyle and I still waiting for someone."

"Okay, we'll go ahead. Bye, Leo. Bye, Kyle. " Angelo said then the three of them left the room, leaving Leo and I alone.

I was fixing some paper when I talked. "I'm really sorry, Leo. I really can't help you guys with the rest of respondents. I want to but I can't risk." I said to Leo.

"I told you already, Kyle. It's fine. You had your reason and we understand that. It's better than sorry." he said. "The rest of the group can handle the encoding of data, so no need to worry. I handle the whole group."

Tomorrow was the start of my heat. I already apologized to Leo and the group about it because I won't be at the school for the next three days. Good thing they'd understand it.

I sighed. "I really don't know what to do without you."

He narrowed his eyes. "Are you falling for me?" He asked.

I showed him my middle finger. "Hell no, fucker." Leo laughed because of it. We went out the room after packing our things.

We waited for Amanda at the Academy front gate. We're in the midst of talking about our research when Amanda arrived.

The first she did when se saw us was launching herself at me. "Kyle-kun! I'll miss you! I can't take not seeing you for three days!" She said while rubbing her cheeks on mine.

"Amanda, let go!" I said but I can't remove her grip at me.

'Damn her and her alpha strength.'

"Nooo~!" She clinged herself more. I sighed and let her.

"Defeat." Leo said then laughed.

We went outside the school, looking like that, Amanda's clinging on me. The three of us went to the waiting shed, to wait for our buses. We entered different buses. Amanda and Leo went on same bus. We bid goodbyes to each other. Amanda send me flying kisses.

"Kyle-kun! I'll miss you! Don't forget about me!" She shouted from the other bus. I just showed her my middle finger.

While sitting at the bus' seat, I grabbed my phone then compose a message. I gathered my courage to continue typing the message.

'Meet me tomorrow. It's been three months, my alpha.' I stated then send the message to the unknown number that texted me before.

'It doesn't sounds like I'm aching to see him, right?'

I sighed then leaned on the chair. Minutes passed before the bus stopped in our street. I went outside the bus then walk to our house.

When I arrived at our house, father and mother still aren't home. So, I went straight to my room and dumped myself in my bed.

I'm so glad that our research paper progresses smoothly. Credits to our unwithered desires to finish it and our hardwork. Good thing, I got reliable groupmates. Everything's okay except one.

"What should I do to escape?" I whispered while straing at the ceiling.

Mother and father knows whenever my heat comes. They always ensure that I locked up myself in my room. Sometimes, they even take leave on their work just to keep eye on me.

I shut my eyes off. I think of the possible 'ways' to escape.

'What if I told them I have projects to do in my classmate's house?' No, they already called the school that I'm taking a leave.

"What if I told them don't bother me tomorrow and don't enter my room then escape?' No, they've stubborn asses, they still open it for sure.

'What if I told them I'm sleeping over Amanda's or Leo's place?' No, they're alpha, they won't let me for sure.

'What if I told them that I already had mate and we're going to fuck each other all day tomorrow to relieve my heat?' There's no fucking way they'll let me. They'll kill me if I'll tell them that.

I sighed. I'm screwed. I really wished I still have my brothers or John by my side to cover me up. I know they'll understand me like they always do.

I'm still thinking some ways to escape and go to mine and my alpha's place when I heard my phone rang.

It was mother. I answered it.

"Hello, mother?"

"Kyle, are you at home now? " He asked.

"Yes, almost half hour already." I answered. "Where are you mother? Usually, you're here by this time."

"Oh, well, I called for that concern." He said. I heard few noises at his background. "Wait, it's noisy here. I'm gonna take this outside." He said. I heard someone said 'OK'.

"Where are you? Who's that mother?" I got up from the bed. I grabbed my bag and get my bottled water the started drinking it.

"That's your father, he's talking to some employees." He said. "Anyway, like said I called to inform that we can't go home tonight and maybe until next week."

I almost choked myself with water. "For real?!" I said. Oh shit, I can't hide my happines within my voice.

"You seem happy, Kyle." I can hear suspicion in his voice.

"N-no." I lied. Sorry mother. "What I mean is, for real? Why?" I tried to changed my tone in to solemn one.

'I'm really sorry mother.'

"You're father and I are going to look over the second building that were making. There's some misconceptions in the plan. The engineer said that we badly need to look for it."

"Oh, that's sad." I tried my best to sound forlorn but deep inside I'm damn happy.

'Thank you plan misconceptions, you fucking save my ass.' I thought.

"Yeah," he said. "That's why I called. We can't keep you accompany with your heat. We feel bad about it. Is it okay to leave you alone---?" I didn't let her finished.

"Yes! I'll be fine! I'm old enough to handle myself! No need to worry about me! I just locked up myself in my room! Promise. I'm going to be okay." I said with certainty. I'm being pushy, I hope he didn't notice.

"Okay. We're really sorry Kyle. We didn't thought this will end up like this. We're really sorry. " he said with apologetic voice.

'Common, don't use that voice! My conscience is eating me!'

Mother told me some warnings like to close the door, bring food in my room, never go out of my room, to ready the medicines near me and to bring baseball bat near me for protection. He even told me that he'll call me every hour which I declined because its to time comsuming and I don't want t9 be bother by them.

"Just focused on the company's problem. I can handle myself. No need to worry."

'Sorry mother, I don't think I'll do what you told me to do.' I thought.

He sighed. "Okay, if that's the case, I'm hanging up."

"Bye mother, send my greetings to father."

"I will, bye son. I love you."

"I love you too, mother." The phone call dropped.

Seconds passed before I realized that I don't have to think how to escape.

"Fuck shit!" I said then plopped myself at the bed. "Yes! Yes! I'm alone! I can now go!"

Funny, I can feel the guilt of not telling my parents that I'm going elsewhere but the happiness I'm feeling is more than that. I never thought that fate will help me go to our place.

I packed some clothes, medicines and foods. I also drink some precautionary suppressants so if ever I accidentally release my pheromones, no one will know. After that, I checked the house and ensured that it's totally locked. When I finally assurw that it looked, I went out and walk throughout our street. I hailed a taxi

"To the grand bus terminal, please." The taxu driver nodded. It took 10 minute before I arrived to my destination. I paid for the ride and went out the taxi.

I went to the ticketing area took the ticket for bus heading the next city.

"A total of 100 bill, sir." I nodded at the ticketing officer.

"Here." I said then gave her the money.

When I settled my ticket, I went inside my assigned bus then sat on the seat at the window. I looked through it. It's just 5:30pm, there's a lot of people around, some were waiting for the other buses, some were buying something at the nearest establishments and some were just walking around. People seem busy even though the sun almost fall asleep.

I was still looking at the people when I felt chills in my bones

"Shit..." It feels like someone's observing me from afar. I tried to looked for that person but I can't locate any one due to the ocean of people.

'Maybe I'm just imagining it.' I just shrugged it off.

"Tickets, please." The bus conductor said.

The trip was not that long. It took 45 minutse to arrived. Usually, it'll only take 30 minutes to arrived but it's rush hour by this hour, so the pricate and public vehicles are eager in driving around.

"We're at the Atlis City! For passengers who's heading to Atlis City, prepare yourselves for arrival." The bus conductor said.

Atlis City, this is my destination. It's the next city to ours which is Rewick City.

I grabbed my bag, then stood up when the bus stopped. The bus stopped few meters away from the house that alpha gave me.

I walked through the house. I stared at it for a moment when I finally got there.

'I'm back.' I smiled for my thought.

Tomorrow is the day of my heat, and I told my alpha to go here tomorrow. I really hope to spend more hours with him, but I never thought that I would be here this early. I really thought I would escaped from my parents sights before I go here. But luck on my side, I now here.

I sighed and hold the key at my neck.

I was about to go inside when I felt a string hands suddenly held my waist and covered my eyes.

"Who---" I felt hysterical about it but I smelled his pheromones. "You..."

"You got here early, huh?" He said. "Miss me that much?" He added then planted kisses on my nape which delivered chills through my bones.

I nodded and smiled. "Yes, I miss you so much my alpha."
