2 Chapter-2 Alex Norton: Part 1

It was nearly noon, and the sky was cloudless, with sunlight shining across the horizon. A few birds were flying at a high altitude.

However, the Earth's atmosphere was not in good shape due to rising pollution from industrial waste and harmful gases.

Despite all of this, people continued with their usual activities in this modern age. It was the beginning of the Interstellar Age, and the very first space station was under construction, though it was still far from being complete.

Scientists were searching for a planet similar to Earth that could serve as a second home for humans due to the depletion of Earth's resources. There were a lot of satellites roaming outside the solar system and some nearby galaxies.

A few planets had been found which were named as the second or third home for humans, but they weren't able to travel in space at the speed of light to reach those planets. So, preparation for the relocation was just a pipe dream for them until now.

Humans were limited in their space exploration due to technological constraints. Even until now, no human was able to set foot on any other planet except the Moon.

The depletion of resources led the countries to wage war against each other out of desperation, which had resulted in uncountable casualties.

Top countries which were America, China, UAE, Australia, and Russia held the true authority over the world, maintaining the superficial peace.

All the remaining countries were under the control of T5C-Union (Top Five Countries Union). They had deterred the other countries with their military power and it was because of that reason, wars had come to an end.

One day,

In a Space Research Lab, many scientists were staring at a big screen. A few minutes ago, they received that a satellite, far away from the Milky Way Galaxy, had detected a tremendous amount of energy wave spreading in all directions.

Just as they were trying to find the source of the energy that was being released and to make an assumption of the location in space, all the electrical devices stopped working at once.

With that, the Sun started to dim and darkness spread across the sky, causing panic among people. There was no light from the moon either, and the sky was completely dark. Nobody was even able to see any stars up in the sky.

With that, the Earth began to shake, resulting in the largest earthquake ever recorded in history which caused widespread destruction and the result was a high death toll.

The situation remained grim for more than five minutes, but then, a blinding light illuminated the sky which blinded everyone for a few seconds. Everything started to return back to normal and all the electrical devices started to get back online.

After this incident, scientists theorized that a massive energy wave detected millions of light-years away which was probably caused by star explosions or collisions of two black holes, which were the cause of this phenomena.

Satellites stopped working right after detecting the energy wave which resulted in not finding any true source of this cause.

Even though all of it lasted for a few minutes, it took months to a year for the world to recover from such a massive disaster. People named that day as one of the darkest days in the history of mankind,

"The Blackest Day".

More than 14 months later, people began to move on from the dark memories, but this was just the beginning of another larger disaster that was on its way toward the Earth. But then, this day was later referred to as,

"The Day of Beginning and Awakening."

The new disaster turned the view of the world upside down and brought a new era for everyone, humans and non-humans alike.

At present time, a slender teenager is walking down the street, making his way to the academy. He stands at almost 5'3" tall with jet black hair and blue eyes.

He is dressed in a uniform consisting of a white shirt, black pants, a blue tie around his neck, a blue coat over the shirt, and black shoes to match his pants.

There are dark circles under his eyes and numerous bruises on his face which are the result of falling down the stairs on the previous day.

He had been running when he slipped near the edge of the stairs and tumbled from the top to the bottom. It was his own fault for not being cautious of the slippery floor near the stairs.

No one had come to his aid at the time, only offering mockery and sneers as they watched him fall, not like he expected anything from them at the first place. But after he came out of the school, a guy had taken him to his home.

He is walking slowly and steadily, keeping his head down to avoid any unwanted attention. He could hear the murmurs of other students heading to the academy.

He arrives at a tall, wide blue gate with the height of more than 20 meters. There was a signboard above the gate.

''Blue Heart School''

He reads the sign and enters through the gates along with other students keeping his distance from them.

Inside, there were three separate buildings having 5 floors each. He heads toward a five-story building and makes his way to the stairs, climbing to the 5th floor and arriving at room B-7.

The room has two doors, one near the front row of chairs for those who seek attention, and one at the back for those who prefer to avoid it.

The front door is mostly used by the teachers and students with high attitude and the backdoor is exactly opposite to this one.

Our MC enters through the back door and takes a seat near the window. He habitually cleans the chair with a small piece of cloth.

As he sits down, he hears a male voice greet him with "Good Morning, Alex," from a handsome guy with yellow hair and green eyes sitting in front of him, smiling and extending his hand, Jay.

''Good morning, Jay"

Our MC greets him back with a smile and shakes his hand.

"So, how are your wounds? Still hurting? Why were you even running so fast? What was the hurry, anyway?"

Jay asks a number of questions at once after taking back his hand. Jay had been Alex's friend since his childhood. In the past, they were always seen with each other playing outside the school and eating at the cafeteria.

All of this stopped when Alex lost his parents in a car accident 3 years ago. Ever since then, he has been living alone in his apartment not so far from the school.
