Streaming is hard alright?

Streaming was never an easy thing to do. For streamers who were actively trying their best to entertain and attract new viewers, they had to put in a lot of hard work into their careers if they wanted to become successful one day. Miko was no exception to this.

On the table before her laid a piece of paper filled with seemingly random scribbles and confusing words. This was the result of the discussion between Sora and Miko last night, a script to better prepare them both to make the collab more entertaining. The script included the approximate flow for the whole stream, a series of topics that both of them will be engaged in, and a few jokes here and there.

After all, this was their first time working together. It won't hurt for them both to be better prepared for today's steam.

Miko looked towards her senior, Sora, who had been streaming for about a year. She was indeed more familiar with the affairs in VTubing. Miko recalled the night before where they were discussing the collab. Sora's gentle voice still lingered in her mind as she guided the whole discussion while keeping her comfortable. Miko was glad that her first time was with Sora.

But...

'Everything will be fine right?'

Doubt sets into Miko's mind once again. She had a bad feeling for today. Something was off, she felt unsafe, insecure.

She hoped she was just overthinking.

Sora meanwhile continued her stream without noticing Miko's strangeness. After finishing a few minutes of small talk with her viewers, she began to introduce her important guest for today.

"I'm glad so many people came for today's stream! Seems like everyone is excited about what we will be doing today. You guys saw the thumbnail for today's stream right? Aren't you all curious where did that someone go?"

The vtuber model showed a smile as Sora used the stream deck that she brought along to Anemachi's house. Meanwhile, the chatbox of the stream continued to be flooded with messages from her viewers.

(Hmm? There will be another person for today's stream?)

The viewer from both streamers was excited too it seems. And with a reassuring look coming from Miko, Sora began to introduce her into the stream.

"Well then, we wouldn't want to keep our guests waiting. Let us welcome…Miko-san!"

"Morning everyone! Thanks for having me in the stream!"

"Nya-hello! It's a pleasure to be able to come for today's stream, nice to meet you all!" Miko's unique voice entered the ears of the audience.

"Yeah, I've always wanted to stream together with Sora senpai. And also, thanks for inviting me to your stream too! My name is Sakura Miko, I'm a virtual shrine maiden who after following God's order has arrived in Japan and became a virtual shrine maiden, nice to meet you all!"

Behind the screen, Miko tried her best to sound as energetic as possible. Your first impression to the viewers was important as it will establish the generic feel you gave to them. Most people won't bother to give the streamer another chance if they find that the personality wasn't what they are looking for. So she had to do her best.

"So, today me and Miko-chan will be playing Minecraft together! This is our first time playing this game, so hopefully, we won't die that easily."

Sora isn't confident in her gaming skill despite Minecraft not being a combat focus game. Miko seems to agree too.

"Yeah, I've seen some videos about Minecraft from time to time. People can build big and pretty buildings, it seems. Maybe we can make something like that eventually," Miko agreed.

Minecraft at this time has gained quite a big following now. With millions of players around the globe, it has become one of the mainstream games nowadays. Suitable for players of all ages, the element of allowing the player to be as creative as possible without surprise made it a gem among the many limiting rpg games nowadays.

Also, they allow their gaming footage to be publish freely.

"So Miko-chan, I will be hosting the server this time, is that fine for you?"

"Ah sure, can you send me the address and password in discord?"

"Sure, give me a second."

And as Sora began to set up the server, Miko proceeded to check on the chat while keeping a topic going on. A streamer should never let the audience wait too long.

"So, Sora-chan, what will be our goal for today's Minecraft?"

"Goal huh? Hmm...Ah! I remember seeing some video about a village in Minecraft. Maybe we can try to find one and live there?"

"Ohh, sounds cool! I think maybe we could build a pixel art or something though. I remember a post on Twitter where one of your viewers built a giant pixel art of you…"

And as the two continued to focus on streaming, Anemachi in the back silently watched the two as she was still doing her own work.

'Looks like Miko had recovered quite a lot already.'' Anemachi nodded to herself as she delved her head into her laptop. She had to type out the report for last month's Miko's performance.

Until now, Miko's channel has been growing steadily. Although the number of subscribers was still at around 30k, Miko's membership was quite high with a ratio of 3% membership to subscriber count. Average viewer count and time of view were also increasing overall.

'Maybe I could request for an additional publicity chance if this continues onwards?" Anemachi's mind began to think about how she could bargain with the management to provide more resources to Miko. Any little bit help. If she manages to get the momentum going, it will greatly accelerate Miko's growth.

She remembered that Miko hadn't had her first song cover yet.

Anemachi began planning in her mind.

There were some songs in her mind, some that might fit Miko.

"Nyan!"

Helka on Anemachi's thighs meow again as it used its head to lean against Anemachi's soft tummy, rubbing it with its soft fur.

"What is it? You're hungry again?"

"Nyan!" Helka responded positively.

"Wait a second then, let me get some milk for you."

Her eyes turned to the two streamers who were now having fun before heading to her kitchen.

"SORAA!!! HELP ME!!"

"SORRY MIKO! DEAL WITH THE GREEN THING FIRST BEFORE I LET YOU IN!"

From the screen, Anemachi can see Sora blocking the entrance to the dirt house she had just built from Miko who was busy fighting back off a creeper with her fist.

"Don't leave me here! Please! I don't want to die!" Miko said while having a muffled sniff, clearly terrified by her first night in Minecraft.

"Sorry, Miko! I can't! Kill the green thing first!" Sora continued the cruelty.

Miko witnessing the betrayal happening before she released a war cry never seen before in the VTuber era. And with a determination to bring down everyone else with her, she ran towards the poor dirt house that Sora had built.

"Don't come near me!!! Go away!" Sora looked towards the creeper and Miko in horror.

"If I'm going to die, then you are also going down with me then!"

And with the charge towards Sora's dirt house done, the creeper began expanding at the presence of the two newbie players, welcoming them to the friendly world of Minecraft.

"NOOOOO-"

To say the least, Sora's house didn't survive the blast.

'Both of them are having fun, it seems.' Anemachi nodded to herself and went into the kitchen, leaving the two girls to enjoy themselves.

She was hungry too, just like Helka.

Meanwhile, Miko looking at the respawn screen gave off a laugh of joy. Her cheek turned red from the blood concentrated on her face

'Who knows that collabing with someone else can be this fun?' Miko thought to herself as she observed the viewer's response. With the chat box now being spammed with words like kusa, www, and yabe, she knew that her viewers enjoyed the stream.

"Mikoooooooo!" Sora's cute angry voice meanwhile entered her ears, trying to intimidate her. "Why did you do that!"

"It's your fault for not letting me come in!" Miko countered back with her reasoning, although she was still recovering from her intense laughter.

"Hahahaha...god, ok, we should focus now."

Miko turned her eyes to the chat once again as she slowly calmed herself down. One should not stop on a single topic for too long.

Yeah, nothing was out of the ordinary.

Until she saw some weird messages.

(Why did she do that? Didn't Sora already say to not get close to her? That looked selfish not gonna lie.)

"Anyway, what should we do now Sora?"

'This person is a bit sensitive huh? Well, I guess it's alright, I can't make everyone happy'

(That wasn't funny, I don't know why is everyone else entertained, that just look idiotic overall)

"Miko? Are you alright?" Sora, realizing something was off, asked Miko.

(What is she doing here? Can't Sora find another person to collab with? Her presence disgusts me)

Anemachi in the kitchen heard the sound of items dropping.

"M-miko?" Sora's voice came right after, confused.

Miko's laptop together with her webcam was now on the floor, with small pieces of plastic and glass sprinkle all over the carpet.

And Miko was standing there silently, her hands were covered with scratches from her broken laptop presumably.

"..."

The air was silent, the chatroom went wild from Miko's sudden disappearance, and the loud voice they heard when Miko swiped everything on the table.

"...Miko?"

Still not clear what was happening, Anemachi asked carefully, trying her best to not trigger the girl.

"...I'm sorry."

And without taking away anything, the girl ran outside of the house like a kid caught doing something wrong.

Sora and Anemachi were stunned.

"I will go after her, Sora."

Hesitating for a while, Anemachi left Sora alone in the house and went after her.

In the end, Sora was left alone with Helka, and the confused viewer.

"A"

She looked at the mess and gave off a sigh.

"Everyone! Miko has some urgent things to do just now, so we will end the stream today, very sorry about it! I will update you later regarding what has happened!"

And after apologizing to her viewers, Sora immediately ended the stream. She can't continue the stream without Miko afterall. Meanwhile, she discovered the possible reason for Miko's reaction.
