72 Chapter 41: Pendragon, Character Development

Avalon had Finally won against the Saxons, peace, and celebrations wrapped around the Capital. Once this happened, Arthur awarded Faith with the title of Duchess which she had no choice but to accept. After her efforts in saving their lives in Barton Hills.

Faith doesn't want to get into too much detail. But those idiots got themselves into huge trouble this time. Faith her brilliantly countered the enemy and actually got Avalon its final victory against the Saxons.

That's why she was awarded with the title of Duchess.

Days continued on like normal with Gawain always trying to flirt with her, Terry asking to be clean, Kai talking nonstop, Pavall vowing he will protect, Lancelot being his gentle-self, and Arthur as always an idiot.

While She also gave time to play around with Mordred and Celine.

One day Faith was playing a card game with Celine and Mordred. When Lancelot, Kai, Terry, the two brothers Pavall , Gawain, and even the newly joined recruits, Sir Bors and Sir Bedivere walked in.

"What is going on?" Faith asked

"Fay, you've been under the weather recently. Everyone's worried sick. You can come tell us if you're troubled. Everyone here is your companion." Lancelot told Fay honestly

'huh' Faith looked confused. Gawain took a few steps towards Faith and pulled her out of her chair and into a hug.

"Sir Marquess, please stop fooling around."

Pavall stared at Gawain seriously as he said this. From his point of view, Gawain, a Marquess, is being rude towards Faith who now bears a higher rank.

"Sir Marquess, do not forget that Fay's rank is higher than yours."

As Lancelot smiled gently, he helped pulled Faith out from Gawain's hands. Faith had a blank expression, both Mordred and Celine merely watched.

Fay drop your pretense already! Everyone knew the reason behind your listlessness. It's about the Duke's daughter Guinevere! You don't have to worry about this. You're the only person best suited for His Majesty! Although you're not as smart as her, not as beautiful as her, not as versatile in skills than her, not as big-hearted as her, not as---"

"Kai!" Pavall yelled.

Kay finally realized his mistakes and quickly tries to recover. He then reaffirms his stance on this matter.

"Fay, don't worry. His Majesty treasures you."

Pavall feels guilty for not protecting Faith well. He even allowed her to be kidnapped right in front of him. It is because of this guilt that he is the second to declare who he sides with.

Kai has his eyes locked on onto the two who recently joined.

"I have nothing but appreciation towards Duchess Fay for her achievements in the battle at Barton Hill. I do not think there are any other women more suitable for His Majesty." Bors' eyes too, flashed the same sentiment. He praised Fay much.

Bedivere did not utter a word. He merely stared at Fay with a complicated expression.

"I object!"

Gawain cried out all of a sudden.

"The one most suited for Fay ought to be me! Even if Fay is a Duchess now, I will not give up!"

The group argued for a while as they have completely forgotten about her existence. She sneaked out with Celine and Mordred and into the Kitchen to eat some snacks made by Rievres.

'this chapter felt more like Character development then anything else.' She thought.
