111 Chapter 3: Winter, Nine Months Before (Part One)

Rose is working at McDoodles. Slur as Rose filled the bright red cup with soda. She capped it and placed it on a tray full of fresh fast-food.

"Hey, Rose," Said Casey as she walked in very peppy.

"And Good morning to you to Casey," Rose said and then gave the tray to a customer waiting patiently "Thank you and Come again."

"Hey, I am going to a Karaoke party with some kids from Seikan. You know that rich kids' school." Rose nodded while still filling orders "And I want you to come with me."

Rose raised her head and smiled "I guess your finals went well for you."

"Yep, that's why I'm getting sto.." She pauses "I mean ah mmm.."

"I don't mind going. But, are you sure? I'm no Partier."

"Yep," Casey said excited "I'll see you at Palm St. then."

"Okay," Rose smiled and continued her work.

"You know Rose if you take off those glasses and let down your ha."

"And If you don't get to work Manger is going to scold you," Rose said pointing at the man staring down Casey

"Oh, Crap!" Casey hurriedly tries filling orders.

A few hours went by, and Cassie had already left while Rose was sweeping by the bathrooms when she is suddenly tapped on the shoulder by the manager.

"Rose, your shift's over," he said

"Oh, where did the time go," she said laughing a bit

"Keep working overtime, and I'm going to be the one with an ear full."

"I'm sorry."

"Well, get on outta here" He smiles at her as she goes to get changed leaves. As she was nearing home Rose sees a man in a suit leaving her house, he bowed lightly to her before getting in his car and leaving.

"What the hell were you thinking." David's voice roared so loud that even Rose could hear it. She rushed in to see that Coney was crying on the floor. Finding Jake, she tapped him

"What's wrong?" Rose asked Jake worried

"Mom used credit cards in Dad's name" he sighs "Were in debt again." Rose nodded her head and looked at David whose face is completely beat red. David flips the coffee table over in rage

"2 thousand, Coney, 2 thousand" he is screaming and was about to hit Coney. Jake stepped in

"Dad! Calm down." Jake said holding his Dad back while Coney begins sobbing. Rose runs over to console her.

"How are we supposed to pay that off!? How Coney!? How!?". David begins ranting while being held back by Jake.

"We were in debt for years, and after finally paying it off you put us back in." David kept yelling

"Do you want us back in that miserable position again."

Rose looks up at David while patting Coney's back. "There might still be a solution to this"

"Like what?" David

"I'll find a way. Somehow". David calms down and Jake to let's go of him.

"Alright," David said with his fist clenched walking to his bedroom. Still sobbing Coney walks out to the backyard to cry.

Leaving Rose and Jake in silence. "How are you going to fix this? 'Jake said breaking the silence.
