17 Chapter 17: Hero’s Chronicle, Breton’s Point of View (Part One)

Breton Hall returned to the academy after spending a week under his sister. He had completely given up on asking his step-mother to attend the engagement party.

"Good morning Jared, Yuri."

"Good morning, Berne."

"Hey, Breton. You didn't stay up late again to study, did you?"

'ladyship, only my sister's followers address her as a lady and not miss or young mistress' Breton thought.

"Ah! Jared, I was just talking to Breton and Anders about disbanding the military, since the kingdom is really peaceful" Yuri had a bright smile on her face as though she has thought of an ingenious idea.

"Ah, Yuri is so smart," Jared said from behind Breton as he had just come back with an entranced smile as if Yuri captured his heart multiple time with her smile that had a vastly different meaning to them. Jared and Yuri left in a happily.

Breton and Anders sat down in shock as they took in everything, their reality has been utterly shattered.

"Hey, Anders can you listen to my story" Breton felt like he needed to talk about it.

"Yeah," Anders said slowly as he looked at Breton trying to remain calm.

"When I was a child, me and my sister used to be somewhat close. She taught me swordsmanship and how to use magic, she was honestly the best teacher I ever had. But then the maids started pulling these pranks on me. I never told my father or my sister this, because I thought I could handle it. Until one day, I lashed out and nearly had beaten a maid to death. My sister saw this, I remember the look of disgust in her eyes when she looked at me, I stood frozen I wanted to explain to her, but she had just left, without a single word. Not long after she left the maid who was by her said to me when she left "Young master Breton, thank you for being so easy to use. Now our Ladyship won't bother with a pest like you" before she turned around and left happily, and Then I heard the maid who I had beaten laugh. That was when I realized I had been set up" Breton said slowly.

"…."

"Anders the only people who address my sister as "my lady or her ladyship" are her followers. Just right now Yuri had called my sister

"her ladyship."

"That doesn't make sense, why would someone who follows your sister, go after her fiancé."

"it makes sense to me because I have seen how terrifying my sister's followers can be. They would go extremely far for my sister. Glass never liked Jared, and he had always treated her horribly both you, and I knew this but never said anything. I should have realized my sister's followers would never have left Jared alone."

Anders started to shiver again as his expression was getting pale.

"Anders you may not know this, but most of the students of this school are my sister's followers. That's why I believed Jared when he said that Yuri was being bullied."

A few days later, Breton was in his father's office to move on to discussing some more topics ranging on the management of their territories.

"Breton, your sister received the invitation to the royal castle. To celebrate the funding of the empire, it is from the Queen Dowager. Meaning she can't refuse, I want you to escort her

"Jared and Yuri will be attending for sure."

"I'm surprised," his father said

Maxfield shook his head. As he looked out his window to see a carriage stop and his beautiful wife and daughter came out in an arm link seemingly still chatting before Glass looked up and met his eyes and nodded at him.
