1 Born and Abandoned

In Z city's hospital, a woman was giving birth to a child. She kept on pushing and pushing until the child finally came out. She looked exhausted and then fainted.

Father Lin: "What happened to my wife?!"

The father almost panicked when he saw his wife losing her conscious, but the nurse's answer relieved him.

After a while of flirting with her, the man decided to gather all of his courage and ask her out. During this time, she didn't bring up the topic of having a child at home as she thought it wasn't that necessary for now. But during their first date, she asked him what would he do if she already had a child. Though she worded it in a way that would make it sound that she was just asking a question, in truth she wanted to know whether he would abandon her or not.

Rather than answering her question, he questioned her instead.

The guy: "Errr... Do you actually have a child?"

Mother Lin: "Well... Y-yes."

She worried if he would just leave immediately after hearing what she said. Though he was surprised to find this out, he didn't immediately leave her.

The guy: "Hais, you should've told me earlier. Because I am a CEO who is worth billions of dollars, if news got out that I married a woman with a child, things will get troublesome."

Mother Lin: "Eh? P-please don't abandon me like my husband did!"

Mother Lin really felt connected with this man. She didn't want him to leave her too.

The guy: "Well, there is a way we could be together."

Mother Lin: "Can you at least give me a bit more time to be with him before I abandon him?"

During that night, Lin Jie was experiencing his breakthrough to the Nascent Soul realm. His soul left his body and began to wander around. He checked to see if his parents were awake, but before he could do that, he was almost sensed by Xiao Kun so Lin Jie had to run away immediately. Instead of going back to his body, he decided to head up towards the sky.

Xiao Kun looked around to see if anyone was trying to spy on them. When Lin Jie's mother asked what had happened, Xiao Kun said it was just nothing and continued with their conversation.

"Lin Jie, the truth is, you won't be able to see mother again. We can't be together so this will be our final moment."

Lin Jie froze upon hearing those words. His own mother was going to abandon him now? Did he do something wrong?

"M-mom! Please, don't abandon me! Did I do something? Was I naughty? I swear I will be a good kid, just don't abandon me!"

So for her own sake, she was going to abandon him? Lin Jie felt as if some part of him died. He looked at his mother to see what she had to say.

Mother Lin: "I'm sorry, Lin Jie. I'm sorry!"

Xiao Kun: "We won't just abandon you like this. We will leave this villa to you and provide you a butler to take care of your needs. We will secretly fund you until you reach 18 and for school, the butler will be your guardian."

Lin Jie looked at Xiao Kun hatefully and said, "No need. I don't want the pity of the trash."

Xiao Kun held back his anger as he was next to the mother of the child. If he took action against him, then she might leave him so he had to endure.

Mother Lin: "Lin Jie, watch your mouth."

Lin Jie didn't want to keep on talking with them anymore and got up from his seat and went upstairs. Though his mother called him back, Lin Jie ignored her and went to his room.

Inside his room, he cried and cried until tears he ran out of tears. His mother was just a normal person so she didn't have improved senses. She wasn't able to hear him crying but Xiao Kun did. He really pitied the child, but he wasn't going to adopt him. If the truth got out, it wouldn't be good.

Xiao Kun: "Come let's go Yun Xin. You said your last words and you need to uphold your promise."

Yun Xin nodded and left with him. Lin Jie watched them from his window as they boarded their car and drove away. Watching them leave, Lin Jie had a deadpan face.

He couldn't be happy nor sad anymore. What could make him feel sadder than having both his parents abandoning him? What could make him happy when his sadness was just too great.

Sighing in his heart, Lin Jie fell went to sleep. He wanted to forget everything and just remain in like this.

The school system was designed so, in elementary school, kids would be at or be able to reach Qi Condensation realm and at middle school be at or reach Foundation Establishment. That was why all the adults who went through elementary and middle school had reached the foundation establishment realm. You would need to be at the peak or late stage of Foundation Establishment if you want to go to a good high school.

In the all whole nation, there were 100 high schools. The high schools received better treatments if their graduates could be Golden Core realm. Those who produced a lot of golden core realm cultivators would be promoted from a normal high school to a noble high school. The noble part is a title indicating that these high schools have better facilities and high-quality formation arrays.

In Z-city, there were only 2 high schools and no noble school. Though Lin Jie wanted to stay and attend one of the high schools, he couldn't remain in this city. There were just too many bad memories he had with this city so he decided to leave and headed towards S-city. The butler who was told to take care of him called Xiao Kun and told him about what had happened.

Late at night, Lin Jie appeared on top of the rooftop of the apartment. He stared at the sky and watched the stars shine. Since the day he had reached Nascent soul and saw the stars, it became a hobby for him. What he didn't realize is that his soul and body keeps on getting stronger and stronger whenever he goes to watch the stars. After a while, Lin Jie laid down on his bed and fell asleep. Although he can stay up for days without sleep, he just sleeps anyways.

After waking up, the sky has already brightened. He got up and took a shower. After getting ready, Lin Jie headed towards high school No.33 to register.

At the front desk, the lady asked him what he was here for and Lin Jie told her that he wanted to register for the school. She asked for his guardian, but he remained silent. He forgot about the guardian part so he left the building. Outside, Lin Jie went into an alley and used his powers to create a clone of an adult him. Then he went back into the building and the lady didn't question him this time.

After registering for the school, Lin Jie applied for a job at a convenient store. A week after applying, he was called in for an interview and he passed. After receiving the job, Lin Jie went home feeling happy in his heart.

Though the abandonment of his parents truly traumatized him, he overcame his sadness, but his deadpan was semi-permanent.

Lin Jie walked on the street absent-mindedly. People who saw him couldn't help but mutter under their breath "He looks so cool." Due to Lin Jie's amazing hearing, the people's mutterings brought him back to reality. He felt a little embarrassed being watched by the people around. Immediately, he went through an alley and headed home.
