After everyone tasted the wine, they began to eat. As usual, Lu Jueyu helped Li Chenmo first. She scooped up a bowl of bone soup and put some noodles in it. She also added a few slices of fatty meat, two pieces of tempura, and two meatballs to the noodles. Then she scooped two spoonfuls of spicy meat sauce and placed it on top of the noodles. After that, she put the bowl of noodles in front of Li Chenmo.

At first everyone thought noodles were less fragrant than steamed buns. But when they saw Lu Jueyu put so much meat on the noodles, they followed her example. The tempura becomes soft and chewy after being soaked in the soup. With the addition of spicy meat sauce, the noodles are even more fragrant. The more Li Chenmo ate, the greater his appetite became.

Lu Jueyu was worried that he would suffer from indigestion if he ate too fast, so she reminded him in a low voice, "Husband, eat slowly."
