1 Prologue:

Mako and Bolin are brothers that Pro-bend for a living, and after their Pro-bending match they walked to the store to get some food to make dinner and some for breakfast, but Mako was in deep thought when Bolin asked Mako what was troubling him.

"Mako what is bothering you? Is it because we won the match or that you saw that girl cheering for you in the audience that looked a lot like Athe-" Bolin was cut off by Mako putting his hand on Bolin's mouth. "Hey don't say her name like that because I heard from someone that she would be in Republic city" Mako said to Bolin as they walked back to the attic of the Arena, but then Mako bumped into a girl on which Mako thought that she was a threat.

"Hey buddy watch where you are go-" the girl looked up and met Mako's eyes then her eyes soften as her eyes had tears that was threatening to come out. "Mako is that really you?" She said as she hugged Mako getting him off guard as he hugged her back. "Athena I missed you so much also Bolin missed you as well" Mako said as he had tears in his eyes but he didn't let his tears threaten to spill out.

"Athena I'm glad that you are here!!" Bolin said with a big smile on his face as Mako released his hug and rolled his eyes at Bolin as Bolin hugged Athena as well. "I know guys I'm so glad to see you from all of the years and I have to tell you guys everything" Athena said with a big smile on her face, but then her smile dropped as she sees a man with a knife coming after Mako, Athena ran to Mako and shoved him out of the way as she used her Sacred Dragon bending as Black flames went out of her hands, but the stranger threw his knife at Athena as it hit her chest deeply then Athena kills the guy but falls to the ground, but Mako caught her just in time.

Mako looked at Athena with fear and worry written all over his face expression as he told Bolin to find Tenzin, then he looks back at Athena. "M-Mako I d-don't want to d-die-" Athena managed to say as her eyes went blurry and then she falls unconscious.

Mako was furious as he looked at the bad guy and got up as Mako looked like an angry fire dragon as the bad guy ran away after Mako took a punch to the guy's face then Mako screams as he falls to his knees crying. "Mako it's okay we can take Athena to Katara and she can heal her" Bolin said trying to comfort his big brother, but Mako shook his head as he didn't want his childhood friend to leave his side.
