Goodbye

After a moment, Camila threw the large book she was reading onto the floor in a fit of frustration, causing a thin cloud of dust to 'poof' into the air.

She had already read all of the books in the house and her parents refused to buy any more .They would say things like, "You need to spend more time outside" and "Pay more attention to your family, stop spending time and money on those books."Which in Camila's opinion was a stupid concept.

But after a long moment, she started to waver.Camila stood up and slowly walked over to the only source of light in the room, the window. She sat down on the window sill and looked at her family that were busy having fun by the lake. Camila really did wish that she could spend more time with her family, but she didn't want to get bored of them. That sound rude, but it's something real for Camila.

She found that after she did something for a while, like a couple of days, she would soon get extremely bored of it. Whether it was painting, gardening, or gaming, she could only do it for a few days before she lost all motivation.

And Camila was extremely worried that if she started being with her family more she would get bored of them.

It was, needless to say, the last thing she wanted .So every day, she distanced herself.

But she was so tempted to run down the attic stairs with a huge smile and join her family. Camila was, after all, only fourteen. 'But staying away from them now will probably allow me to be with them more in the future',Camila told herself .She thought that if she waited, she might be able to get over this.

But little did she know that it wasn't something she could ever get rid of. But she won't ever know that since she's about to die.

Anyways, Camila was still sitting on the window sill, daydreaming, when she felt a dull pain in her foot. She looked down but didn't see anything, so just thought it was a figment of her imagination .But upon closer inspection, she realized that the floor board was sticking up slightly .So Camila bent down and after a few minutes of struggling, she managed to pry the floor board loose

Looking in, Camila saw that the only thing under it was a excessive amount of dust, cobwebs, and a dirty old book.

When she picked up the old book, a single page fell out and drifted toward the floor .On the page was not a essay, instructions, or some magical ritual, but just one eerie word.

It said, in handwriten words that were scrawly and thin, Goodbye.

Confused, Camila was going to open the book and see what it's about, but her mother's loud voice that was calling "Dinner!" interrupted her.

She stood up, placed the book down, and without looking back, headed for dinner.
