After 100 years of peace, Earth prospered in many fields. One of them is science and technology.

From playing on a console, computer, and cellphones, games can now be played through Virtual Reality (VR). Games that can be played in virtual reality are hence called VR games.

Normally Lay wouldn't be interested in this kind of stuff but what happened earlier changed it.

"Are you sure you want to give this to me?" Lay asked as he tinkered with the black box in his hands.

Just from the packaging, Lay could tell that the contents of the box ought to have a value of thousands. He was reluctant to accept it since he didn't think what he did was a big deal. He only took care of two unruly thugs that's all.

However, the teenage boy who introduced himself as Tom didn't mind and was adamant about giving Lay the box which he claimed to contain a VR helmet.

In the end, Lay agreed when Tom told him about the uniqueness of the game.

The game is called Otherworld, a sandbox VRMMORPG game where players got to choose between 6 classes: Mage, Gunner, Rouge, Priest, Archer, and Warrior.

The game world is called Celestial Treasure World which the developers claimed to be twice the size of Earth. Just from this information, Lay was able to tell how ambitious the creators of Otherworld were.

In reality, the game itself received global popularity, and the number of players continue to skyrocket. As of now, the game had 25+ million players despite only spending a month in the market.

However, all of this is not enough for Lay to play Otherworld. Scrolling down the official website of the game, Lay arrived at the about us section. There, he was able to know the company behind the success of the game.

The company is called Honor which is a joint venture of the Alliance where Lay is and A Nation which resides on the west side of Earth.

Finally, Lay was convinced by what Tom told him about the currency exchange system of the game. How it works is whatever currency Lay had in the game he can trade for an equivalent value in the real world.

After a few taps, the monitor in front of Lay showed the current exchange rate of in-game and real-world currencies. From the cheapest bronze coins to silver coins and the current highest in-game currency which is gold, the prices are respectively 1 cent, 50 cents, and 1 Alliance currency.

To put these prices into perspective, Lay spends about 3 Alliance currencies a day to supply his daily necessities such as food, water, and grooming products.

Making up his mind, Lay stood up from his chair and paid his balance to the counter before going back home.
