Into Her

Chapter 12

SKYLAR LEWIS MARSHAL

My activity in Nikki's class — again, comprises of giving a little attention to the lesson and more on fantasizing her as she moves on the suspended platform.

'god'

I'm crushing on her.

I lost count of how many times I checked her out from head to toe over and over again within the class' period.

Also, I'd been taking notes in my head with the every movement and gestures she made that seem to fascinate me.

Guess I looked like a creep since Todd has been nudging me from time to time to pull me out from my little fantasy world.

'ahem'.

[***********]

I was sitting with my friends in the school cafeteria eating my lunch when a guy approached our table, laid down a chocolate bar with a sticky note attached on it, smirked at me arrogantly, winked like he's someone to die for then left, swaying both his arms on his side more than necessary.

He looked so full of himself, boastful that I want to kick him right there.

'the fuck'

I pulled out the sticky note meticulously like it held a million germs and read what's written out loud, enough for my circle of friends to hear.

"Meet me at the back of the gymnasium after class."

I snorted, "What is this, high school?"

That was really funny and insulting.

Based on the chocolate, then someone's gonna confess and the hell with a sticky note.

'So damn unromantic!'

And the fact that we are already in college not in middle school nor in high school to be confessing at the back of some isolated place in the school ground made my blood to boil.

'grrr'

And—

'damn'

Me, in my senior year even spent a lot of scented stationaries just to write a damn love letter to a girl that my trash bin overflows as I kept on crumpling for I desire perfection in every word of my letter—

… and this 'gorilla of a guy' just gave me a sticky note? Not to mention how arrogant he acted and how the message sounded to me like he has some authority over me.

'the hell'

"That's Carl," Jhen said.

"He's kind of popular here with the looks and all the money."

'eh'

My brow lifted. There must be wrong with my eyes, I just described him a gorilla a while ago.

'hehehe'

And what's with money? Am I suppose to be threatened or blessed because he has given me interest?

'hmmm'

Only a fool and those who don't know me would dare to threaten me with money and power— I am a Lewis, a Marshal.

'tsk'

Then another guy dropped by. He was gentle, meek and respectful unlike that Carl. I gave him a really sweet smile.

"Hi," he greeted me and smiled shyly.

"Hi," I greeted back but my smile was wide unlike his.

I have perfect teeth which I took pride of, so why not show it.

'ahem'

"Would you mind if I take you to dinner sometime?"

'oh'

'smooth'

I put both my elbows on the table, clasped my hands, rested my chin on it and looked up to the him daringly.

Yes daringly—

I bet I looked so intimidating which I intend to anyway.

"Are you asking me out on a date perhaps?" I asked.

"Yes," he firmly answered, his voice deep but I could tell he is nervous as his chest rose and fell rapidly.

I sighed, "I'm sorry dude," I declined, politely.

"… but I don't swing that way."

"..."

"Eh…?" his mouth hung low and he looked confuse.

I chuckled, "I'm gay—"

'hehehe'

Mr. Nice guy just stared at me, dumbfounded. His mouth moved like a fish out of the water— no word came out.

"Thanks anyway," I said apologetically.

He just nodded, forced a smile and seemed embarrass at the same time then he left, unsure of his every step. He threw me one last glance in his way out of the cafeteria.

When the nice guy was out of sight, Jhen burst out laughing together with Jake. Seriously, these two have the same wavelength.

'duh'

After many laughs Jhen slapped playfully the back of Todd's head when the man seemed not to give any reaction in everything, especially in my revelation.

"What?" he glared at Jhen while rubbing the back of his head.

"Aren't you surprise?" the girl glared back.

"Of what?" Todd furrowed his brows.

"She's gay," Jhen pointed her finger at me.

Todd groaned, "I know," he affirmed and got his focus back on his burger.

Feeling that our eyes were on him, he turned his head, meeting each of our gazes with his brow lifted.

"What?" he curiously asked again.

"You knew?" Jhen asked with doubt in her tone.

Todd nodded, "She's always staring dreamily at Ms. Lacey the entire period, drooling in her seat that I find it creepy sometimes."

Everyone gasped, all attention shifted to me by then.

"You are into Ms. Lacey?" Jake asked in a whisper, his eyes bulged in disbelief.

I nodded then averted my eyes guiltily.

Both Jake and Jhen slumped their back on the chair and exhaled loudly. These two always have the most over acted reaction in everything while Lisa on the other hand, is the calmest one among them.

"So even at your calibre, you still fell under Ms. Lacey's charm huh?"Jake sneered.

"I should probably ask what her secret, or squeeze it from her that everyone in town are lining up in the doorstep of her heart," Jhen pouted.

My brow lifted, "What do you mean everyone?"

The girl rolled her eyes, "She's the most desired bachelorette in town duh—"

"… yet she never accepted one in the last seven years."

I choked from my own saliva, "Seven years?"

Jake leaned in and whispered, his palm covered the side of his mouth, "That's because her last relationship ended pretty bad that she's having a hard time moving on in life."

Jhen did the same, "Basically, she's building sturdy walls around her heart and no one yet in this town manage to tear it down."

I sat there shifting my gaze to the both of them while taking in all the information.

"Wait guys, how do you know all these?" I asked, when I realized it.

"I didn't know you are those 'gossip divas' lurking around town," I added.

"Hey—" Jhen eyed me, her tone reprimanding, defensive.

My head turned on my side when Lisa spoke, "You see here Sky—"

"… everybody knows everybody here, small town," she shrugged.

'small town'

Oh, that makes sense.

'Oh Verona'

And about Nikki, my curiosity about her skyrocketed from all the gossip or truth I just heard.

'Not in a relationship for the past seven years huh'

For seven years no one manage to break her walls and win her heart.

'hmmm'

Maybe, I can?

'duh'

I brushed away the idea, I'm just crushing on her— a week, a month, infatuation fades.

It's not like I'm falling—

'right?'

'duh'

Hey guys, I know most of you ‘readers’ here came from LU and I’m so thankful for that. So here’s a chapter, and guess we are back on track now as I ended LU few days ago. May I can pull this one just fine. Thanks guys. Enjoy...
