31 The First Meeting of Anti-Entropy, Wendy's Dead?

In the heart of the Hyperion battleship, Theresa paced anxiously, her hands clasped behind her back in a gesture of deep contemplation. Her mind was a whirlwind of questions, the most pressing of which was Wendy's inexplicable lack of reaction. "What should I do? Why is Wendy so unresponsive?" she muttered to herself, her voice echoing in the vast expanse of the deck.

Himeko, observing Theresa's distress, stepped forward to offer some words of comfort. "Theresa, you need to remain calm," she advised. "The medical facilities on this battleship are not fully equipped. We should wait until we return to base before we conduct a thorough examination and treatment."

Luo Mo, however, did not share their concern for Wendy. He had knowledge of the events that had transpired in a previous world - Wendy had merely fainted after an encounter with the Titan. Moreover, he was aware of Wendy's transformation into a Herrscher due to her research with the Herrscher Gem at the Oceania branch.

"If Herrschers were so easily defeated," Luo Mo mused aloud, "then humanity would have nothing to fear." He paused for a moment before adding, "Wendy has fully integrated with the Herrscher Gem. She is practically a Herrscher herself now."

The thought of facing such a formidable opponent was daunting. Luo Mo knew that his current system could not withstand that level of Honkai energy. As he pondered this, he realized that he should have an emotional value now. Opening his system interface, he found a slew of message reminders awaiting his attention.

Before he could delve into these messages, Himeko announced their imminent arrival at St. Freya Academy. As the massive battleship descended towards the academy grounds, Luo Mo was captivated by the breathtaking beauty of the campus.

"Hyperion can dock directly inside the academy?" Luo Mo marveled at this revelation, once again impressed by Theresa's resources. A sudden thought struck him - was it too late to curry favor with Theresa? The realization that Theresa was incredibly wealthy left him feeling somewhat overwhelmed.

In the heart of St. Freya Academy, Theresa cradled Wendy in her arms, her steps quick and purposeful as she headed towards the academy's internal medical room. However, she had barely taken a few strides when she came face to face with a sight that left her stunned. "Grandma?" she gasped, her eyes wide with disbelief. Her gaze then fell upon the members of Anti-Entropy and Einstein. "And you guys? What are you doing here?"

Before she could get any answers, she noticed Kallen standing next to the red and blue duo. "Take Wendy to treatment first," Kallen instructed calmly. "Saving lives is important."

Dr. Red Lobsterhead chimed in, "Let's help too. After all, this situation involves Anti-Entropy as well." He then turned to Theresa and frowned, "And you, Theresa, why do you only remember Mophead?"

Caught off guard by his question, Theresa quickly apologized before realizing the oddity of the situation. "Wait... you're from Anti-Entropy... our rivals! Why are you inside Schicksal?" Despite her confusion and anxiety, she knew she had to prioritize Wendy's wellbeing and hurriedly continued towards the medical room.

As Theresa disappeared down the corridor, Einstein commented lightly, "Dr. Tesla is always obsessed with visibility." The red-haired doctor seemed to have a retort ready but instead chose to follow Theresa.

The group soon arrived at St. Freya's medical room. The pristine white tiles of the corridor gleamed under the bright lights, reflecting their shadows. The red lights on some of the doors flashed continuously, a stark reminder of the harsh realities of a Valkyrie's profession.

Inside one of the emergency rooms was an array of state-of-the-art medical equipment. Tesla couldn't help but exclaim in awe at the sight of the latest model of K-785 healing machinery. "We at Anti-Entropy are still in the process of procuring it!" she exclaimed.

With such advanced equipment at their disposal, their chances of success seemed even more promising.

Kallen watched Theresa's retreating figure with a faint smile on her face. "Theresa truly cares for her students," she remarked, her words echoing in the silence of the room. It was a well-known fact that Theresa was generous with her wealth, especially when it came to her beloved students. She was never wasteful, and the large sums she spent were always for the benefit of her pupils.

This was perhaps the reason why St. Freya Academy continued to thrive. It was an Eden of dreams, a school that every student aspired to attend. The promotional videos painted a picture of beauty, simplicity, and fragility that was hard to resist. It was no wonder that individuals like Durandal chose to train at the headquarters.

The academy attracted idealistic individuals who were passionate about teaching. The headmaster led the school with unwavering dedication, hoping to inspire more Valkyries to understand what they were fighting for. It was a somewhat naive and whimsical notion, but who could fault such noble intentions?

Einstein sighed, breaking the silence. "As expected, Wendy's head trauma wasn't the key issue." Her words sparked a wave of anxiety in Theresa.

"Then what happened? Why hasn't Wendy woken up?" Theresa asked, her voice laced with worry.

Einstein frowned, smoothing back her blue hair as she contemplated her response. "Wendy had an unstable chip implanted in her brain. The blow she received has made the already unpredictable chip even more erratic."

What Einstein didn't mention was that the chip bore traces of Anti-Entropy technology.

"So will Wendy wake up? She's not going to...?" Theresa's voice trailed off, unable to voice her worst fears.

"Death is not an immediate concern," Einstein began, her voice steady despite the gravity of the situation. "The Herrscher Gem is currently repairing Wendy's body, but it's also causing damage. If we were to remove the chip..."

She was interrupted by Theresa's anxious query, "What would happen?"

Einstein sighed, "She would likely become a Herrscher. If we were to remove it abruptly, she could end up in a vegetative state."

"Is there any chance of her returning to her original state?" Theresa asked, clinging to a sliver of hope.

Einstein shook her head, "The likelihood is negligible. The power output of the Herrscher Gem is too high. If we remove it hastily, her body will erode directly. The best course of action right now is to lower Wendy's body temperature to slow down the conflict between the two forces. The strength of the Herrscher Gem's output should still be based on Wendy's body until we figure out the role that chip plays and find a suitable replacement."

Theresa looked surprised, "Isn't that a good method?"

Einstein nodded, albeit somewhat reluctantly, "Granted."

Tesla chimed in, "Let me clarify something. We only developed a sample of that chip recently. I didn't realize that Cocolia had already implanted a modified version into a living person. To fully understand what the chip does, we need at least half a year. Even if we delay her body's deterioration by lowering her temperature, under the influence of the Herrscher Gem, she can only last for a month at most."

She paused for a moment before adding, "This is partly our fault at Anti-Entropy. We acknowledge that and are willing to make amends."

Luo Mo interjected with a question, "Can't she be completely frozen?"

"The Herrscher Gem can't be frozen," Dr. Einstein replied calmly. "Her body currently maintains a delicate balance."

Luo Mo pondered for a moment before speaking up, "If it's a matter of technological capability, give me a month and I can resolve it. Just provide me with a sample of the chip." He was confident in the technology of the World Serpent. Even if not much was preserved, they still had the formidable Thirteen Flame-Chasers. Moreover, he had been planning a trip to the World Serpent anyway, considering Fu Hua's situation and Kevin's return.

"Theresa," Luo Mo said, turning to face her, "trust me with Wendy's situation." He took on the responsibility with an air of confidence.

Tesla seemed taken aback by his declaration. "You?" she began, her tone skeptical. She was about to voice her doubts when she remembered that Luo Mo wasn't part of Anti-Entropy and held back her words. "Mophead and I couldn't do it. Are you sure you can?"

"Of course I can't!" Luo Mo replied without hesitation. "But I know people who can."

Theresa looked at Luo Mo with gratitude in her eyes. "Luo Mo, thank you. Feel free to ask for anything."

Luo Mo couldn't help but smile at her words. "Really? That's great! Then besides Theresa's request, how about giving me the compensation for Anti-Entropy as well?"

He had his reasons for taking on this task. He didn't have any particular feelings for Wendy, but he believed in doing what he could to save her. If he looked at it from this world's perspective, Wendy's death seemed inevitable under normal circumstances.

But what if she survived? He was curious to see if this was an anomaly or simply an accidental situation. After all, there was still Himeko-sensei to consider...
