4 Connor

"Cody!" he yelled racing over. The guy lay on the floor clenched up in a ball. Suddenly it hit him. This guy was a duo mage but was still alive. What on earth was someone even supposed to do if a duo mage collapsed. He didn't know enough about them. He could hear voices of the teachers above starting to come down. Great he'd ask them.

"You killed it got that."

Connor looked down in surprise hearing Cody actually able to speak. "Wait what." He hissed back.

With a clear amount of effort Cody rolled behind a mat and muttered "Get them to leave me alone."

Connor was shocked but a duo mage probably knew what was best for themselves, hopefully.

"Hello" He greeted the teachers as they arrived.

"You did this" Gasped one of the teachers. They were very surprised at the giant rat to say the least. Since he was an ice mage and no one else was around they took it for his work without too much question. Then they carried off the dead body of the rat with them. After going above floor with them then managing to break back off he quickly returned to the basement.

Cody had gotten pretty pale, even he could tell that in the dim light. Maybe he should notify the teachers after all.

"Don't you dare" Cody muttered as if reading his thoughts. "I just need a few minutes." He closed his eyes again.

Connor grimaced slightly at the clearly not okay Cody lying on the concrete. He grabbed one of the small mats in the corner and brought it over, then dragged Cody onto it. He then pulled off his jacket and put it over him. He ran his hand gently through Cody's hair.

"Sorry about earlier" he muttered, "I was in a bad mood and kind of took it out on you."

Cody just grunted slightly in reply. Connor mentally decided that if he wasn't better in an hour he'd notify someone. After about a half hour Cody moved to a sitting position. He was still pale as a ghost though.

"Are you sure you're okay" Connor asked.

"Yeah…" Cody stumbled trying to get up which clearly told Connor he wasn't.

"Lay back down for a bit more." Connor muttered.

"Make me." Cody muttered back taking another shaky step.

Connor decided to just take him literally and easily forced him back onto the mat. Cody shot him a glare but decided to just stay a bit longer. Cody ended up leaning his head against Connor's shoulder.

At first Connor was surprised but then realized that Cody just didn't want to lie back down. He smiled and thought that Cody must have gotten 5 times cuter in the last hour. When his blond hair fell over his eyes, Connor felt his heart speed up a little.

Another ten minutes passed and Cody fell asleep against Connor. Seeing as he had regained a lot of the color in his face Connor decided to just let him sleep for a bit. He slept for two hours before waking up with his head in Connor's lap.

Connor gently brushed the hair out of his eyes, "Feeling better yet?"

"Yeah uh….thanks." Cody muttered awkwardly. He got up no longer stumbling like a drunk person. Connor also rose to his feet.

"You should still probably get yourself checked out." Said Connor. Cody collapsing had scared him a lot.

"Hmm happens often enough." Said Cody, "long as I'm not unconscious it's not a problem."

What kind of logic is that thought Connor. Did this guy seriously not know how to look after his own health. If he was a duo mage he'd probably have a personal on call specialist on hand at all times. He thought of his brother who was a doctor. He had the healing subset of the sky magic. Didn't he say in the past he had looked at several duo mages although almost all of them had died?

"Come on" he muttered grabbing Cody by his uniform, "You're going to meet my brother."

"Wait what?" said Cody, "Yeah no." he turned to leave when Connor remembered a way to force him. Although he felt bad using it.

"Well that photo might find its way onto the school board." Connor said lightly. Of course the photo didn't actually exist. Cody glared at him finally letting out a annoyed growl of defeat. Connor then dragged him out of the school and toward the parking lot.

"Hey come on I need to head home already its practically dark out!" Cody muttered as Connor dragged him along. Was it kidnapping if you dragged someone to see a doctor? Well Cody's not a kid so there. Cause that logic worked? Connor had multiple thoughts as he dragged Cody to his car and drove off with him. Blackmail was definitely an efficient means to an end, but long term effects could end badly.

After all his joke about boyfriend had started as a joke, but the more he thought about it the more he wanted Cody for his own.
