Moment of Truth

The trio went inside and were amazed of the coziness of the restaurant. They used to dine on cheap comfort food restos and this is one of those though it would come as top 1 in their ranking of the many restaurants they had eaten. This was quite huge but given the number of customers they saw when they walked inside, it justified the need for a wider space. A lot of people were dining in happily and many were also ordering take outs.

Alex was feeling dizzy in the crowded restaurant and Liam, seeing her being uncomfortable, led them upstairs.

"There is a second floor?" Jenny asked unbelieving.

"Well, given this crowd of customers the owner might thought of expanding to the second floor. I've heard that the foods here, aside from being cheap, were also delicious. Tastes uncomparable to the restaurants we usually dine in."

"Ooooh..."

The three were not poor. Their families were actually on the top 10 most elite families in the country. But the three were the same. They did not want to indulge with the riches their family had. They wanted to keep a low profile. They even go to the background and not show off their faces when their parents were being interviewed by the media. They wanted to keep a low profile and enjoy a normal life.

As they reached the second floor, they were in awe about what they saw. The customers were feeling at home with the short but wide tables where they can just do the indian sit while eating. There were also cushions and throw pillows for them to sit on or put on their lap for their comfort. Table games were also provided on the wall for customers to play while they were eating or waiting for their food.

There were also few soundproof KTV rooms if some would like to have a more privacy or a quiet place to eat or just to have fun singing while indulging themselves with their food. On top of the doors of the KTV rooms were two lights, red and green. If the green light is on, then the room is vacant but when the red light is on, it is the other way around. Lucky for the three, the room at the left corner near the stairs were not occupied. They went inside.

For them to order, they just need to use the tablet attached to the wall and it is already connected to the counter and the pantry. The crew already knew where to bring the food since once the orders were given, there would be a distinct number specific to a room that will be shown.

"Wow! This is really awesome! I never thought that there is such a restaurant here in the city. We often eat out of town, we neglect these ones in the city. Consider that the food are not too costly, i might eat here every day if the food passed my meticulous tongue!" Jenny giggled. She started to choose what to order for the three of them. She did not bother to ask the couple. Aside from they were having their intimate moment for the nth time, she already knew what they want. Adding to their orders were the best sellers and the food they haven't tried yet.

Once the order was sent, Jenny looked at the two and pouted. She just busied herself not wanting to disturb the two.

'They were 'quite' shameless huh!' she thought.

Alex laughed while staring at her bestfriend. She really thought they were doing something (like kissing so intimately). The two were just fond of teasing her ever since so she'll get envy and look for a boyfriend for herself so she could do those 'lovey-dovey' things that the two were always shamelessly doing in front of her. But they were always losing as Jenny just doesn't care. Instead, she just put on her headset and listen to her favorite songs while reading on her phone.

"Babe, we don't really have that effect on her, do we?" Liam asked and Alex just smiled while shaking her head as a sign of defeat from their goal. "Oh! By the way, you're not telling me yet the reason you went to Jenny's aunt! Did something happened?"

Alex let out a long heavy sigh and looked at Jenny who was busy. But Jenny felt her gaze and looked at her best friend with the face asking for help. Knowing what it could be, she signaled Alex to just tell him.

"What should I know?"

Alex looked into Liam's eyes as if pleading not to just tell him and he'll help in any way he can. She got something from her bag and gave it to Liam. She looked down not wanting to see his reaction.

It was the PT kit which she used and showed the result of her pregnancy and the results and prescriptions from her check up.

There was a silence. It was awkward actually. Alex was holding her tears for a reason she can't understand. Maybe it was her fear of rejection?

She looked at Liam who seemed to be sad about what was given to him. He looked up so he won't be able to his tears fall. He coughed so he would be able to speak clearly.

"I..I don't... I don't know... what to say... I'm sorry-"

Alex could not hold it any longer. She bursted out a cry. She knew he would reject it! She knew it! How can he possibly be happy for this child who will become a hindrance to his future!?

"Hey! Please stop. Please don't cry... You should not be stressed.." Liam pleaded.

"How can I not be stressed when I have to face this alone? I know you have plans and this can just block your way for a brighter future. How-"

"Hey, hey, hey! Babe!? Who told you that? You did not let me finish first eh!"

Alex looked at him confused. Jenny raised an eyebrow but not intruding to their personal matter.

"I said I'm sorry because I need to do this." Liam gently let go of Alex from his embrace and rushed to the door, opened it and shouted, "I'M GOING TO BE A DADDYYYYYY!!!!YAHOOOOOO!!!"

Liam kept on shouting those words. Jenny was the one who was embarrassed of Liam while Alex who was crying out earlier was now grinning and can't contain her happiness. She just can't believe that she was thinking it all wrong. Or, she was just overthinking that she'll carry this alone.

They heard shouts of congratulations and non-stop clapping from the outside of the room they were in.

"Hey! You stop that and come back here! My God!" Jenny scolded him.

"What? It just made me so happy that I wanted the world to know immediately!" he blurted showing a face that says he is the happiest on earth ever. But he followed Jenny though. He sat beside Alex again and hugged her tightly. After a few seconds of tight hug, he released her and kissed her passionately. But he cut the kiss shortly.

Alex was the happiest that moment. All her doubts and fears disappeared.
