The Showdown

"Why are you here?"

"Can't I be here?"

Lisa was surprised to see Lance in the basketball court of Peninsula Estates. She is a Zumba instructor every Sunday for the residents of Peninsula Estates and she's been doing this for a year already. She also holds dance classes every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. She teaches ballet, dance sports, folk dance and hip-hop to kids from 3 to 16 years old. Parents of those kids want to pay her for the classes but she declined saying that she just wanted to continue her passion.

She asked Lance what he was doing there and why he suddenly joined the group but she was pissed off being answered by another question.

"Whatever!" She rolled her eyes and continued setting up the sound system and scrolling on her phones to create a playlist.

"What's the matter?" Lance asked and Lisa just sneered. "I can be here, too, right?" She turned to the other people in the court grinning widely to get their approval.

"Yes!" they all yelled except for Lisa.

She looked at them with wide eyes. Seriously? It was obvious for them that she was pissed with this guy who suddenly popped out from nowhere and they still agreed for him to stay?

'Where are your loyalty?' she cried in her thought.

She glared at him for a few seconds then a thought came into her mind that made Lisa change her expression. She wanted to laugh but they might think that she's gone crazy all of a sudden so she just smirked.

"Okay, if you really want to be here then fine. Everyone, please meet our new member, Mr. Lance Chua!"

"New member huh?" Lance seemed to know her plan but would not accept defeat. "Hi everyone!"

"Hello!"

"Hi Lance!"

"What a nice name!"

"And a great body too!"

"How about your number?"

"Are you single?"

He was welcomed by different greetings. A lady who's as old as Mr. Philip was the one asking for his number and a gay was the one asking if he's single. He just scratched his head and smiled to them making the ladies and gays giggle more.

Lisa couldn't help but laugh. She started to play a song and automatically, the people fell in line and she faced them so they would just mirror her moves. She instructed Lance to stand in the front and just follow her. She purposely did that because she knew that Lance had two left feet. She felt victorious already when she saw how anxious Lance is.

She started to do first some basic warm ups on the first five minutes and after that she went on with energetic steps that could really make everyone sweat and lose those unwanted fats.

When she looked at how Lance was doing, she was awed. Her jaw almost drop to the floor. She almost lose her cool and focus on the dance steps.

'Am I seeing things? How on earth did he learn to dance?!'

Lance is effortlessly jiving with her groove. He dances so manly yet so sexy. Being the only straight guy in the group, he made the moves suitable for men also, catching the attention of the guys who just joined the jogging but separated themselves in a corner of the court to just do some warm up and intense workouts. Seeing Lance do the moves of Lisa in a manly manner made them want to join the group.

They do 30-second break to drink water, relax for a bit and have a breather. They have six sets and on the last one, Lisa cannot admit defeat. She changed her moves, making it more complex. She did not notice that the group was not able to catch up with her because they have never seen her do those moves of a higher level before. She was having an intense staring competition with Lance who by that time was not copying Lisa's moves but doing his own that made him look sexier. He won't accept defeat either. No one wants to be beaten by the other. Both aiming to be the better one.

The spectators (the zumba dancers and the workout boys) sensed the heated competition between the two. They gathered around the two, encircling them but giving them enough space for the showdown.

"Whooooooooooaaaaaaa!" The crowd goes wild as they do some exhibitions like back flips, single-hand cartwheel and hand stand.

"Eeeey! Eeeey! Eeeey!" They were cheering along with the beat of the music. Even a few oldies were very much entertained and joined the yelling.

By the end of the music, Lance and Lisa did very great that the crowd could not determine who is better than who. They were both panting as they finished strong. The crowd kept on shouting and clapping. That was the first time that that happened in the Peninsula Estates.

"Lisa! Lisa!"

"Lance! Lance! Lance! Lance!"

"Whooooooooo!!!"

The crowd were cheering for both.

Lance spread her arms. He intended to hug Lisa for a great showdown but Lisa signaled him to stop.

"You wish!"
