1 Chapter One - Is it after the end of the original?

Main characters never die? What a bullshit! Of course, they die when the reader's attention is elsewhere, after the story ended and everyone got their happy ending who deserved it in the writer's opinion. Like everyone else, the main character dies eventually. They are not always immortal or invincible.

That's something I had to experience myself. But let's start at the beginning.

I lived an average, happy and normal life like a lot of people did on Earth. During summer vacation, my family and my boyfriend's family went on a cruise ship but we met with a misfortune. The ship started to sink and my last memory is falling into the water from that time.

The next thing I knew was that I was looking up at a luxurious ceiling adorned with flower motives. I wanted to talk but only heard some strange sounds and when I wanted to get up I couldn't move as freely as I expected. I was really confused. Am I injured that terribly?

But then I almost forgot to breathe. A gorgeous man appeared before my eyes. He was extremely handsome with black hair and sharp, cobalt-blue eyes. He had a noble nose and nicely shaped lips. He would have looked scary if he hadn't smiled as sweetly as he did when he looked down at me.

I guess I died and he must be an angel. But I had to throw that delusion away the moment he picked me up and took me in his arms. He was huge and I was really small. That was the moment when the realization hit me that I was a baby. So I died and reborn? Is this some kind of fantasy novel? I do like to read them but personally never wanted to experience it. Or is it a fever dream? Maybe I lost my consciousness and it's just a dream? Or maybe I am between life and death and it's a hallucination?

My god. He kissed me on the cheek. How the hell should I concentrate on this weird situation if he acting like that? I am weak against handsome men.

„We have such an adorable daughter." The man said affectionately to someone I couldn't see. Don't tell me... Is he my father?

„Of course, she looks just like you." The woman's laughter was similar to a wind chime.

„Her eyes are like yours and her hair colour is mine, but she definitely inherited your features. She is just as beautiful as you." The man sighed. „I would have been happy if she looked exactly like you but I am just happy that both of you are well and healthy." Well, I can understand that. In Fantasy-Novel-Land childbearing women have a penchant for death. Especially if they are the wife or the mother of a main character.

But I still don't know what happened. Did I reincarnate? Is it possible? What kind of world is this? Based on the ceiling and his clothes I can tell that this must be a very different world and that this is a rich family.

„Damren." The woman's voice became very gentle, it was obvious they loved each other deeply.

„Here you go, darling." The next moment I was in someone else's arms. A beautiful woman beamed at me. She had dark violet hair made up in some difficult hairstyle that I couldn't even comprehend and her pale yellow-coloured eyes shined with happiness despite her tired appearance. She had a cute, little nose and her lips curved like cupid arrows. She wore some kind of neglige. Is it her bedroom?

„She is such a sweet child. Our little princess." She pressed her lips to my cheeks. Getting a kiss from such a beauty... makes me feel weird. I may be in the body of a newborn but inside I am almost nineteen. And I am straight but it still feels like an honour.

„I guess she didn't inherit your temper then, Anliliana." He said in a teasing voice and the woman looked at him pretending to be cross with him.

Wait, wait, wait! Wait just a moment! Damren and Anliliana? And their appearance... Don't tell me I am in the ' Hands off my knight' novel. Their names and looks match so if my name is...

„Lirietta." Exactly that. The novel ended with their marriage but the writer hinted about their daughter and her name on a forum.

I must missed something because the man, Damren was sitting next to the woman, Anliliana, hugging her with one hand and holding me with the other. He said my name to get my attention.

 „Oh, you are such a smart child." He smiled at me and it was destructive. I would allow myself to melt if I didn't have so many problems.

So I am really in the novel called Hands Off My Knight. It was the novel I read recently while my boyfriend played video games. It was nice to spend time together and still do our things. I miss him but I can't....

Anyway, it was a pleasant story without annoying happenings. Of course, a lot of problems can keep the readers on their toes but sometimes it is nice to read something less complicated and that was that kinda of story.

These two were the main characters. Anliliana is the precious daughter of a high-ranking family and Damren is an apprentice knight at her family at the beginning of the story. The young lady at the age of ten met him and decided that he would be her husband. Naturally, her family didn't take her seriously and thought it was just some silly child thing. But the years passed, she grew up and she still didn't want to hear about any marriage plans if it wasn't with Damren.

So her family sent him away with a recommendation to the royal palace. Honestly, he didn't care where he was working as long as he got paid. Guarding a wealthy family or the royal family was the same to him. But since he was a hard-working and talented person he rose through the ranks and became the vice-captain of the third division.

During this time you would think that Anliliana was heartbroken, and it's true that she was sad and missed her knight and his handsome face but she knew with patience and careful planning she would get what she wanted. She wasn't willing to consider marriage and her family would never force her so she decided to bid her time. She pretended to forget about Damren and two years after his departure he requested her family to enter the royal palace to learn manners and socialize before her debut. She was 18 years old and Damren was 23.

She had a silly plan to seduce him. She wanted to seize every opportunity to tempt him, the only problem was that she had no idea how to do that. She was inexperienced but she wanted to get closer, feel up his muscles and kiss him senseless. Fortunately, she didn't act upon these impulses. She had her desires but respected and adored him so she only gave in her wicked thoughts if he seemed fine with being seduced.

And he wasn't indifferent to her beauty and her kindness. But to him, she was a young lady whom he served once. He couldn't see a future for them and didn't want to just play around so he tried to discourage her from approaching him. Not like he ever had a chance. Anliliana would only give up if he found someone he loved and she would have stopped trying to get closer to him if she felt he was bothered. Damren was sometimes cold, sometimes curt but he always took good care of her and never indicated that her attention felt bad.

Of course, the readers see things from her perspective, but in the end, he married her so she probably was right.

They maintained a friendly relationship for a while, which was kind of annoying for me, as a reader because I wanted to see them together. It was obvious they had feelings for each other, but Anliliana was afraid that if she was too pushy or crossed any boundaries she shouldn't have he would tell her to leave him alone and Damren knew her family would never allow them to marry. And even if they disregarded that he couldn't give her any luxury which she was used to. He felt it better to have this relationship than go deeper only to become despised by her because of the hardship of a commoner life. They could live well on his salary but it would have been a very different lifestyle to her.

But things changed when the neighbouring country attacked and he was called to war. He was strong, smart and was one of the best knights but you can never know what could happen on a battlefield so she was very worried. Anliliana was afraid she never see him again so she wanted to be clear about her feelings.

She invited him out for a midnight, stargazing walk in the royal garden and confessed to him. She told him that since the first time she saw him determinedly gripping his sword and facing a much bigger enemy without fear she wanted him as a husband. She wanted someone as brave, firm and resolute as him but as she got to know him better and learned about his consideration and kindness it couldn't be anyone else but him. His handsome face and muscular body were just a bonus. A very nice bonus.

She told him if he didn't want to marry her then she would never get married at all. He knew about her feelings but she was surprised how deeply and strongly she felt. He felt for the first time that maybe they do have a future together. It may not be easy but if they are both determined to spend their life together there is no way not to succeed. However, he was about to go to war so he couldn't promise anything. If he die she will mourn but it would be so much harder if he made any promises. So he just briefly hugged her, kissed her forehead and left for the battlefield.

 But soon it was discovered that the first princess colluded with the enemy and her supporters didn't send any army to fight against them, so the country was in danger. Anliliana loved her country but she loved her knight even more so she couldn't just sit still. He was very strong as well as his comrades but they couldn't do anything against overwhelming disadvantages.

She had saved her monthly appanage since she met him so she had plenty of money. She wouldn't mind living modestly as long as it was with him, but she thought it better to have money if something unexpected happened. So she decided to spend this money on intelligence. She hired an intelligence agency to uncover the secrets of the princess's supporters. She threatened them with secrets that would ruin their marriage, their business or their social standing so in the end they sent their army to the border. She promised to speak on their behalf after they win against the enemy country and the princess but of course she lied. She felt nothing towards people who endangered what she cherished.

The last step was to speak to her father. She didn't plan but she discovered something regarding him. He was a passionate wine collector and he spent much more money on it than he admitted to her mother. They weren't in love but had a good relationship and her mother hated lies.

Her father wasn't with the princess, her family was neutral so that's why he didn't want to get involved. But after her daughter's threat and the fear of his wife's wrath, he gave in. Anliliana rode to the battlefield with her family's army.

But by the time they arrived, the fight was over. Damren's wit and cunning won the war for them despite their army being smaller. And he was very upset that she came to such a dangerous place, but she was equally annoyed because he was injured. They had a yelling competition in front of everyone and then hugged. After getting some privacy they kissed for the first time.

Readers were screaming in joy and they thought the end was close and they weren't completely wrong but there was one more hurdle in the way. After the war, Damren was awarded a rank for his achievement. He got a mansion and land to govern over, even though he had no idea how to do it. So he travelled to his new domain without promising anything. He wanted to feel stable before proposing.

Anliliana went home and started learning how to manage a household. Because she planned to marry her knight, she never had any interest in it but now his knight became a count and she needed more knowledge.

They were apart but never stopped thinking about each other. It took about a year for Damren to fit into his new role and after that, he went to propose to Anliliana. But she lost her patience and planned to meet him in his new home. Of course, they missed each other. When Damren returned home he found her sitting in the salon drinking tea like she was at home. And she was. He proposed and naturally, she said yes, they got married and since that day that has been her home. 

So this is the end of the story. Everything is over. There is no point reincarnating here because there is nothing to do. At least that was what I thought....
