1 Chapter 1: New Identity
I open my eyes and in front of me is a smooth ceiling, that has the typical light dead right in the middle of the ceiling.
It's in the middle of the night at around midnight so the light is off. But even so, the room is quite bright. The reason being the window shines in a myriad of colors. Colors coming off from the city outside. Colorful and full of life. On the signboards outside my room are signs hung up with japanese letters written all over them.
I walk to the bathroom and wash my face then look at the mirror. In the mirror I see my face, the same face that I had in my last life. But I know this isn't my previous world but a another world altogether. Although similar to my previous one but not quite.
"Status."

A world similar to my previous one... so similar but... there are death gods that can take the life of mortals at the stroke of there pens...

"So this is easy mode. Or maybe this is the so called tutorial of this system?"

Laying down on the bed I shut my eyes and think about what to do, what should I do with this year of preparation time.
Death Note is something I must get my hands on that is the item I will take with me after leaving this world. But the Shinigami's are worrying.
I currently don't have anyway of killing those monsters.
The main character is easy to get rid of, but if I kill him I'll lose my preparation time so I can't yet...
What can I take from this world that will be useful to me after leaving for another universe...
The strongest weapons of the modern world is a Nuclear Bomb... If I can get my hands on the way to create one... hmm... that would be useful in the future indeed...
But the problem is the Death Note, Ryuk is the owner of the book dropped for light so I can't take that one. Meanwhile the second book is in the hands of Misa Kira #2 but she's in love with Light...
Sigh* so many problems... I need to solve...
I'm already missing my comfortable life of retirement...
