It sucked that while Georgina looked like Belle of Beauty and the Beast in her gown, she made a point that Summer looked every bit a maid with her black and white lacy maid uniform. Summer stood 5'3, shorter than what is expected of an amgirl. But she was beautiful in her own way. Her hair which she pulled back into a ponytail was black and shiny like her mother's. Her brown eyes were a lovely pair. And though in a maid uniform, she knew she looked pretty, but then again, she's a maid.

"Come now, maid. The party is about to begin in few minutes."

Sure because they already started hearing the noise from below. Georgina would have to make her grand entrance through the grand staircase. And Summer would have to be in the background taking care of her long gown to make sure she does not slip or whatever while going down – way to show the world that Georgina was the princess and she was the maid.

She sighed as they waited for Emma to announce the presence of her daughter. As she did, the lights were turned off as they approached the stairs. And then there was a spotlight focused on the goddess Georgina as they went down.

'Good thing,' Summer thought that she was camouflaged in the dark as Georgina enjoyed the attention and the oohs and aahs from the crowd below.

Then another spotlight was on someone from just below the staircase. When she looked, she saw Georgina's prince waiting for her. He must be her boyfriend, Zeke, from their conversation a while back. Summer must admit he was stunning and gorgeous. And probably the most dashing man she had ever laid eyes on. His smile alone was fascinating enough and for a while Summer wished she was Georgina.

When they were near Zeke, his gaze shifted to her. He could probably see her now because she was just 3 stair steps away from him. Their eyes met and locked for about 2 seconds. Then she saw the corner of his mouth twitched up to a small smile before pulling away his gaze to the gorgeous Georgina who now stood right before him waiting for him to take her hand.

"Welcome back, my Princess," he said kissing her hand, then all the lights were now on and Summer realized how huge the crowd was as they all clapped their hands in delight of seeing Georgina and Zeke together

"I missed you, Zeke!" she hugged him and they kissed

'Eiw,' she thought, 'PDA,' she nearly covered her eyes. The crowd seemed to be more pleased with that.

Georgina had her back on her so that Zeke was facing her direction. After pulling away from the kiss, she was surprised when Zeke winked at her. It had to be her, not Georgina because he was looking past her. She prevented her eyes from rolling as if she didn't see the act.

"I missed you too. Good to see you again," he told Georgina and they faced the crowd together

All night long, Summer stood by the corner away enough from Georgina and Zeke. Georgina just signaled to her through a hand wave when she needed her. That obliged her to watch them the entire time so she wouldn't miss a signal or else she's dead.

"Get us drinks, maid." Georgina said, she had called her

"Right away, my lady," she answered going to the bar counter and ordering their drinks

But when she got back, the two were already at the dance floor. She watched with both interest and boredom. She wanted so much to take rest. Why did they even need to hold a party now when they supposed to have a jet lag? Emma and Georgina were sometimes party freaks.

At least 15 minutes passed when they finally stopped dancing. She can say that Georgina was exhausted at the way she clung to her boyfriend.

"Get another one... This had gone warm," she pushed her drink back to her almost spilling it on her uniform

"Okay then," she said calmly, trying so bad not let her get into her nerves

She returned to the bar counter and this time there were lots of people ordering so she thought she might wait a little. She sat on the high stool next to her.

She watched the people around with less interest. Rich people are snobs and think highly of themselves. She learned that because nobody dared talking to a maid like her since the party started.

"Hey," Summer nearly jumped off her seat when a hand touched her shoulder. When she turned to see the owner of it, she came face to face with Zeke. "So, what's your name?" he asked wearing a rather cute smile and she noticed how he was even more handsome up close

Summer's eyes automatically searched for either Emma or Georgina around. But it was hard to see due to the crowd.

"What are you doing here?" she asked, surprised he was even talking to her

"I'm asking your name?" he frowned

"I'm Georgina's maid," she said "And I am not allowed to talk to you." she turned her back and asked if the drinks were ready, luckily it was. She did not mean to be disrespectful of him but she wouldn't want to get caught breaking Georgina's rules.

"So, Georgina's maid" he wasn't giving up yet as he prevented her from leaving by getting into her way "I believe you have a name,"

"Of course I do," she said smiling sarcastically, earning a smirk from Zeke

"So, what is it?"

"I'm not going to tell you," she walked past him

"Why not?" he followed behind her

"Orders," she said nonchalantly, thankfully though she saw Georgina returning to their seat, Zeke pretended to have come somewhere else as the two returned to where she left them a while ago

"Where have you been?" she heard Georgina asked Zeke

"Oh, I talk to someone I recognized from the crowd," he lied and Summer couldn't help but roll her eyes this time

'Men!' she thought, she saw Zeke looking at her while trying to suppress a smile 'What's with this man?' she thought again, leaving the two

The party lasted for another couple of hours before the guests left one by one. Of course, Summer had to help in cleaning the house. It's not like she was free to go and have some rest. Luckily, they were around at least 10 other maids and a couple of boy helps other than her. So they finished cleaning rather quickly.

She never saw Georgina nor Zeke again after they had said their goodbyes to the guests. They must have went somewhere private and Summer could just care less. That meant she's free for the rest of the night.

She found her room at the farthest corner of the mansion.

"At least you're still inside the mansion," a young maid who probably her age told her "Our rooms are in the servants' quarter." She added rather struggling to string her English sentences together giving away a visayan accent, then smiled at her "I'm Sara,"

"Nice to meet you Sara, call me Summer." she shook her hand "And I do understand Tagalog" she laughed at how Sara's face brightened

"Dapat sinabi mo agad! Buti na lang kasi hindi talaga ako magaling sa english!" (You should have told me at once. It's good because I'm not really good in English!)

"Sorry, I just don't speak Tagalog that much," she laughed again when Sara rolled her eyes, 'I'm loving this girl' Summer thought

"So paano ka natutong magtagalog?" (So, how did you learn to speak Tagalog?) Sara asked as she opened Summer's room, it was so tiny and dark. It consisted of a bed without mattress, one cabinet, a table and one chair. She was just happy enough that she had her own bathroom.

"I'm half Filipino" she put her bag on the bed

"Really? Akala ko nag-uwi talaga ng amerikanang katulong sina madamme" (I thought madamme just brought home an American maid)

"Nope. I live with them... I'd love to talk to you Sara but I'm really exhausted now," she yawned "I'm sorry... Jet lag."

"Oh no, no. So sorry Summer. I'll go now." Sara said

"Thank you. Goodnight, Sara."

"Goodnight," she left and Summer drifted to sleep

She was so tired that the hard bed didn't bother her a bit.
