"What?!" Summer felt her world falling apart at the news she just heard, her father and only family left, passed away that noon. "I'm sorry? You must be kidding me! We just had conversation last night! He couldn't be dead! No, he couldn't!" she broke down, thankful for the strong arms of her father's lawyer who comfortingly hugged her.

"I'm sorry, Summer," Derek said "I know it was so sudden. We all are shocked. But it's true. Wish it wasn't. But it is."

"No... He told me he's not going to leave me like mom did!"

She couldn't believe it. She was with her father last night before he drove her back to her dorm. They even ate dinner together and all the time they were together, there was no sign that he would just die and leave her.

"You are lying, Derek... Give me some joke but my dad's death!"

When she was 10 years old, her mother died in a horrible plane crash on her way to a business trip abroad. That was when she got her very first heart break. When she was 15, her father remarried giving her a completely wicked stepmother and a stepsister on the process. That was okay. She wasn't a bad person to get back to them at how they treated her without her father's knowledge. The important thing was, she has her dad and he loved her like no one else in the world. Now, two years later, her 2nd heart break unfolded like a bomb, totally taking her by surprise.

"He was alive last night! What happened?! Tell me!"

Heart Attack. That was just the answer she got and a cruel truth that left her with nothing but a choice to live under the mercy of her stepmother or go roam the streets. She was told her father was bankrupt before he died and left huge amount of debts her stepmother has to pay. She didn't believe that. How could they ever gone bankrupt without her knowledge? She may be young but her father never hide anything from her. Especially regarding business. John West often told her she would run their business someday so they couldn't be bankrupt and he didn't tell her.

But she couldn't do anything that time. Emma, her stepmother immediately stripped her of any fortune she had. She had her left school, took all her pricey belongings and made her a slave.

Now fast forward to present, three years after her life came crashing down at her feet, she was the personal maid of Georgina, her evil stepsister.

Landing on the Philippine soil once again after 10 years, Summer hadn't thought of returning to her mother's country again after she died. Apparently, Emma and Georgina were both Filipinas. Her American father just loved this country so much that he chose yet another Filipina to be his 2nd wife, believing the same kind heart as her mother's would take care of his child. He didn't had the chance to know she was maltreated, did he?

Sighing, Summer had really no choice but embrace the current life she has. She had a choice, of course. That is to run away and make a life of her own. But she promised she will find out the truth behind her father's sudden death 3 years ago. Unluckily, she has no answers yet.

She sat back quietly at the car that picked them up from the airport. The journey was surprisingly long and she's gone tired squeezing herself through giant travel bags. Emma didn't even give her a comfortable seat. That's how she despises her.

When the drive was finally over, Summer was surprised to see a really huge mansion standing before her eyes. She couldn't remember asking if Emma was rich before she married her father, so maybe she really was.

"Follow the bags inside, maid" Georgina said before going inside the mansion

"Yes, my lady" she answered through gritted teeth, she recalled how Georgina wanted to be called my lady. She refused to call her that way then but she got punished. She was locked up outside their house in New York while there was snow.

"Faster! You're so slow! Prepare my clothes. I need to get changed!" Georgina continued to scream

"Coming now, my lady!" she struggled getting the bags out of the car, thankfully, the driver helped her "Salamat po," (thank you) she said with a smile at the old man who returned her smile

"Faster!" the devil shouted again

Preventing herself from rolling her eyes, she went up the marvelous staircase that leads to the main door. She was so used to Georgina's attitude now after serving her for the last 3 years... She was the real life definition of evil.

"Ang bagal bagal mo talaga! Pagong ka ba?" (You really are so slow. Are you a turtle?) Georgina was speaking in tagalog now like she didn't have the slightest idea what she was saying. Maybe she forgot that she's half filipina and that she knew of the language well but never speak of it that much because she was born and raised in New York and only visited the Philippines once or twice when her mother was still living.

Georgina was a full blooded Filipino. She was very beautiful and if she didn't know her, she was almost an angel. Like how she and Emma made her father believe that they were the best people to complete her family then.

She followed Georgina up the long spiraling staircase she thought was the grandest she had ever seen. They were very rich and Summer thought Emma sure had enough money to pay her father's debt. She didn't even have to make her a slave for goodness sake!

When they finally reached Georgina's room, Summer was in real awe. Her room was very huge. She had wanted her room to be like that when she was younger. Her father had promised her one when she turns 18 and become a lady. Unfortunately, he died when she was yet to turn 18. But that's not important. She wouldn't trade any luxury in her father's place. She had wanted him to be with her now.

"Like what you see, Summer?" Georgina asked with pride "Too bad, this room is mine as well as this mansion. And you are just a maid, my maid. So all you can do is get envious." she laughed evilly "Poor Summer!"

"I'm really happy for you, my lady." she answered

"Oh, thanks for that, maid... Unfortunately, I couldn't be happy for you too. Because this means that you have to clean a much bigger room and a much bigger house compared to your house back there in New York." she continued to laughed at her

She had a point. And she had more reasons to hate her. Why was she even so evil to her? They weren't even real sisters except that she carries with her the same family name as she was, the once powerful name of John West, her father.

"Okay, stop admiring my room now... You have to get me prepared. There is going to be a big welcome party here tonight. I want to look my best. You know, my Zeke is coming." she shifted to look like a lovesick girl with her eyes almost dreamily

"Who is Zeke?" She asked curiously while unpacking her things

"My boyfriend," she said "My fiancé, actually."

"Why hadn't I met him?" she asked a little unconvinced, Georgina sure was a goddess but she was a bitch, at least that was how she was to her. So maybe if she really got a boyfriend, he must have the same bad attitude. No one can put up with evil but the one who is equally evil.

"Because you're poor. Rich people do not associate themselves with maids like you Summer." She said insulting her "Oh and don't you ever talk with Zeke, okay? You are forbidden."

"Okay," she shrugged, as if she cared.

"Now, get me ready... You should make me look nothing less but my best."

"You are beautiful, my lady Georgina." that was sincere

"I know," she answered, ungrateful with her compliment

She fought the urge to pull her hair when she started combing her.
