In a dark place, where not a bit of light can be found, a singular soul floats boundlessly. That soul is me. And I've been here for what feels like forever. I don't remember my name or if I had a family. The only way I've stayed sane is thinking about movies I've watched, books I've read, and games I've played. I always loved me some Dragon Age Inquisition. It was my favorite by far. I say movies I've watched but honestly I barely remember seeing any to tell the truth, I was always been more of a reader. I loved books more than video games and I would read my days away, sometimes to the point I would call off work just to read a new book I found or was re-reading an exciting chapter of one of the books I was reading yet again for the hundredth time.

Any ways that was me up until like thirty seconds ago. Now I've got this blindingly bright mother fucker in front of me giving me the whole "you died and I'm giving you a second chance" spill. I've read it a thousand times but honestly as cliche as it sounds I really never expected it to happen to me. I had come to terms with floating endlessly through the void for all of eternity but now that this is on the table how could I possibly say no.

"So what's it gonna be kid?" The bright light guy asked.

"Of course! Anything to get away from the void." I replied

"Good, now I'm going to give you a character creation screen like what you're used to from Dragon Age and based off what you pick determines where I send you, I'll even let you have a few wishes like in those fic's you read for shits and gigs when you were alive." The bright light said.

"Awesome, thank you!" I said hastily. 'Fuck yeah I already know what I'm going to play as.'

A screen appeared before me and the classic cards popped up with a human,elf, dwarf, and Qunari. I chose Elf male as my race and gender. I'm pretty sure I was a human male in my old life. When I played games I would always pick something other than human given the choice. There's no way I would pick a human, yeah sometimes they get extra perks for being human but hell that's why they call it fantasy! You can be whatever you want, and now that the choice has been given I want to be a damn elf so bite me.

Then another set of cards appeared for the class of character. Mage, warrior, or rogue. Obviously there were still two different types of warrior and rogue but those didn't matter to me. Every kid in the world has dreamed of having some sort of magic at some point in their lives and now that I have the chance there's no other option for me. So I chose mage.

"Okay kiddo, I'm not giving you a system or anything like that so I'm going to let you choose what specialization you want and then some skills. When we get to the skills you can pick one skill from each tree and once passive from each tree, the skills will automatically be the upgraded versions of the skills. Before you ask you can choose to pick two skills from one skill tree but you will have to decide which tree you want to get rid of. Understood?" The being said.

"Okay!"

The screen changed and I saw all the mage specializations. Without even looking at them I chose Knight Enchanter. It was always my favorite, so duh!

"Knight enchanter huh? Will The spirit blade skill will work without the handle since you cant very well go grind for the ingredients to make it where I'm sending you. Now the skills, you can also choose two passives from the Knight Enchanter tree."

A screen comes up with all the skill trees. Knight Enchanter, Spirit, Storm, Inferno, and Winter. So I made my selections

Storm:

Chain lightening> Arcing Surge [ you unleash a blast of lightening that shocks one target and arcs to nearby enemies, the upgrade lets skill arc further]

Static Charge (passive)[ you sheathe yourself in lightening while casting spells with your staff. Enemies that attempt to interrupt your casting are struck by arcs that leave them paralyzed]

Inferno:

[You chose not to pick any inferno skills]

Spirit:

Barrier> Elegant Defense [ You create an invisible protective barrier on your person that acts as a shield, the upgrade makes it easier and last longer]

Peaceful Aura (passive) [ your aura of tranquility makes enemies less likely to attack you]

Winter:

Winter's Grasp > Winter's Chill [You lock a target in a sheet of ice, freezing them in place, the upgrade now freezes nearby enemies and causes damage]

Ice Armor (passive) [ You draw on magic in the air to create an armor over vital areas]

Fade Step > Frost step [ You let invisible waves of magic carry you to desired destination, upgrade freezes enemies in your path]

Winter Stillness (passive) [ by standing still, you enter a meditative state that restores your mana at an enhanced rate]

Knight Enchanter:

Spirit Blade > Defending Blade [ You create a blade of solid mana to use in melee, upgrade spirit blade can deflect incoming projectiles in form of a shockwave back at caster]

Combat Clarity (passive) [the chaos of combat frightens some, but for you, its a comfortable rhythm. Your mana regenerates faster when in combat]

Knight Protector (passive) [Your defensive barriers take longer to naturally decay]

"As you've notices some of the skills are different than what you're used to huh?" The being says after I've picked everything.

"I did notice that."

"Well not everyone is an enemy and you don't want to hurt bystanders on accident so your spells will only effect people you determine as your enemy. And with the world you're going to you will have enemies, especially with the race you picked." The being said making me a bit worried.

"Uh... What world would that be?" I asked nervously.

"You'll be going to the Harry Potter Universe! Same age as the man himself. Now I gotta figure out how I'm going to make your existence work...Damn you're alot of work kid. Oh well, we'll just make it to were there are a few regular elves roaming around but they don't interact with humans. You'll wake up in the forbidden forest by Hogwarts and be found by Hagrid with your parents after you wake up. Your parents will have brought you there because of your magical talent being different than what they're accustomed to. I'll make their magic primarily plant magic and since you can do all Magic's they wanted you to be in an environment that you could learn to control it. What age do you want to be when you wake up?" The being laid alot of info on me.

"Fucking Harry Potter world.... You're right I will be hated there... But I stick by my decision, plus my magic still ought to give me an edge so I'm not that worried. Before I pick my age, will I have the knowledge on how to use all my abilities? And will I be able to use the spells of that world as well, and can my fade step be my version of apparition." I asked

"Yup, you'll just know how to use those abilities and yes you can use Potterverse spells, and since you're going to be an elf I'll even make it to where you'll have a natural gracefulness like the elves of Lord Of The Rings. So I've edited you're weak looking little elf body a bit to not look so... puny. I know you didn't ask for that but I added it anyways. Oh and yeah the fade step will be your version of apparition but you'll have to work at it, the more you use it the further you'll be able to move." The being said off handed like he was already growing bored of the conversation.

"Okay, I guess wake me up at 10 years old so I can have a year to get accustomed to my body and people can get used to my presence." I said. "And thanks! That's much better than before." I said looking at my improved looking elf. Where a scraggly looking man stood before now an elegant ripped elf now stood. This is what I'll look like probably by time I reach 16 or 17 years old so I can just kinda picture the kid version of him.

"Okay now for the wishes, just list some things off and I'll stop you when I've decided you've had enough. And don't bullshit around asking for godhood or infinite mana or anything like that." He said.

"Okay..." I then think for a bit. I don't want to be too OP to start with I want to be able to get stronger and grow and learn and really experience it. "Okay, first: I want there to be a wand at Ollivander's shop that has the ability to turn into a staff by my will so I can use the bolts of magic from inquisition. Second: I want natural Occlumency, since I'm going to be running into Dumbledore shortly after waking up I imagine, so better keep my mind safe from everyone from the get go. Third, I want to be a natural animagus, I want my form to be a snow white dire wolf..."

"Okay that's enough, well give yourself a new name then hit enter...Then enjoy your new life I guess..." The being says sounding more indifferent than he has this whole time.

I look to the screen and see the blinking cursor. 'I'm going to be an elf, so it'll have to be elvish sounding... and for a surname, since I have more ice spells so maybe something to go with that...' I muse before entering my new name.

(N: I know this first Chap seems rushed but I honestly didn't want to spend alot of time on it. I would much rather just get into the actual story part. Sorry if this bothers you guys and gals and other.. Thanks for reading)
