93 It's reading Time

"On the left side you find the Alchemy section, it's the largest collection of the Library, many of the books there are notes from my research over the Centuries, if you live as long as me, you begin to forget things, and will need to start making ordered notes." Introduced the Immortal Alchemist, "But there are also many books from famous alchemy masters or former students of mine. You should start with one of the introduction books on the shelf on the right side, there you will find a systematic approach to alchemy."

'Nice this part of the Library will be full of new pieces of information, Hogwarts had only a few Alchemy books and all of them had very specific topics with no background information. Now I can fill in the missing pieces and form a basis for alchemy.' Thought Matthew as he nodded.

"On this site, you will find the rest of the topics, my main interest was always alchemy so I have fewer books on other branches of magic, but I always kept the most interesting or useful ones. You will find many esoteric and exotic books among them, I would be very careful with the Dark Arts books. I only kept the darkest ones, I never had a reason to use the Dark Arts a lot and only need them if I come across a particular dark Wizard and don't know how to beat him."

"Okay, I will be careful with them." Said Matthew while thinking, 'Maybe there is the Horcrux creation method amongst them, then I don't need to wait until I can access the Black's Family Library.'

"The Books in the Glass Cases are Original Versions and very rare. Many of them are the only remaining Copy, written by the author himself. Don't use them, on the Shelves below them you will find a copy I created with the same content. The Originals are there to show off their Collection Value." Said Nicholas with a no-nonsense tone in his voice.

"No Problem. So can I start reading?" asked Matthew with anticipation in his voice.

"Yes, enjoy your time here. Make the most out of it. Don't forget your time is limited here and there are many books in my Library." Said the Old man with his annoying grin.

'Just see Old man!' said Matthew as he approached the alchemy introduction section and took a book into his hand, "Don't worry Mr. Flamel. I am a very fast reader." He said with a grin himself as the book in his hand glowed and all the Information appeared in his mind. "See already done with the first book, I long since developed this method of reading with my Occlumency so I wouldn't waste so much time with learning the basics." Gave Matthew a half-true explanation.

The grin on the old man's face disappeared, "You knew what I was doing… That's why you didn't bargain for more time with me. Oh, you brat well played, and here I thought you were still naive. Well, I will leave you alone, even then you have a lot to do." Said the old man as he left the Library, the look on his face said he was annoyed but his eyes showed that he was actually impressed.

Matthew was now alone in the Library and earnestly began to scan one book after another. For now, he focused on the Alchemy section. The Introductory section already took him the rest of the afternoon, there were hundreds of books introducing the basics of alchemy. The whole Library had a bit fewer books than the Hogwarts Library, but in general more on magic especially alchemy. This is probably the largest and most complete collection of Alchemy books on the whole planet.

Once it became dark outside, Matthew had to leave the Library. His Parents were after all expecting his return and probably were already worrying for him. He would continue tomorrow. He looked for the Flamel's and received the Portkey from them, it was an old French coin. After saying goodbye to the Flamel's he used the Portkey he just received and arrived back in his room.

He changed into a fresh set of comfortable clothes and headed downstairs, where his mother was currently preparing dinner and his father watched a game show on TV, "I am back!"

"Hey, Matthew how did it go? Did you get the apprenticeship?" asked his mother excitedly.

"No, Nicholas Flamel doesn't take personal apprentices anymore. Even with his Immortality he can feel the age and doesn't feel so fit anymore." Said, Matthew.

"Don't worry son. You will get other opportunities." Comforted his Father him.

"But I did get a one-week internship for the next week. He will help me learn the basics and answer all my questions. And I will get access to his Library for that time." Half lied to Matthew, 'Sorry Mom and Dad, but I need a reason to visit the Flamel's without sneaking out of the house for one week. So a half-lie is the best choice.'

"Ohh, That's nice. Congratulations Mattie. I am so proud of you." Congratulated his Mother him.

"Mooom, stop using that name. It's embarrassing." Said Matthew with a slight blush the emotions of the previous owner of the body were already a part of him so that feeling came naturally, "So can I go? I will come every night back and would leave in the mornings again. They gave me a Portkey specifically for that reason." Explained Matthew with the cutest eyes he could make.

"Of course, you can go that is a nice opportunity for you. But don't forget to prepare for your non-magical exams they are happening in two weeks." Said his mother.

"Thank you, mom. You know me I am always prepared for them. I've already studied everything for them. Only a bit of repetition the week before the exams and I am fine." Said, Matthew.

~ Scene Break ~

The next week was very busy and stressful for Matthew, he had a lot of work to do and not much time. He awoke every day at 6 am in the morning before his parents were even awake, and used the Portkey in form of the ancient French Coin to visit the house of the Flamel's in the outskirts of Paris.

The Flamel's let the door for him open and he would instantly head for the Library since he didn't want to misuse their trust and lose access to the Library. They would absolutely know if he did something else, their wards were on the level of Hogwarts just with only three people inside. They could monitor wherever he was.

He would spend the whole day scanning book for book in the Library. And head back late in the night, the only break he had was lunch breaks with the Flamel's. At night he would eat the food his mother left for him and then head instantly to bed before falling asleep, just to repeat that whole thing the next day.

But it was worth the trouble, Matthew gained a lot of new knowledge. While the Library in Hogwarts targeted Students and a wide range of topics, to give them a basic understanding, the Library of Nicholas Flamel consisted of advanced books in many branches of magic, especially Alchemy.

On the evening of the last day of the week, he finally scanned the last book of the Library. "Yes, I did it. I read the whole Library." Cheered Matthew as he put the last book back on the shelf. He was currently completely exhausted. 'I really need to upgrade my scanning spell. With all that new knowledge I just gained it should be possible. Not only that the memories of Voldemort were also processed during this week and are ready to be integrated into my database.'
