7 Omega and Stormy: Grieving and Moving Forward

Five days have passed. Magnus and Toni had organized the funeral service for Harry William, and buried him surrounded by family and loved ones. The news about the tragedy is abuzz on the news and social media. The existence of the Cult for Confederacy was revealed through a message from Magnus along with video footage taken from the concealed camera from Magnus' high tech sunglasses. The identity of the cult's leader, Alexander Stephenson has also been revealed, though he had disappeared before local authorities could apprehend him. Now the Fight for Change party is seen to be in shambles, with some members supporting the terrible tragedy. Within public opinion, though the majority condemn the cult along with Stephenson, a minority has taken to praise the actions of the cult, saying that their morals and on the nose standards are what the country needs. Politics have always been fickle, constantly changing with the times. But one thing that has remained since the dawn of time is the ability to resort to extremism.

In the Magnus Lair, Magnus sits at the computer looking over reports for the whereabouts of Alexander Stephenson. EJ sits idly by him, looking towards the far end where the MagnusMobile sits. where Toni sits by herself still grieving the loss of her dear friend.

"Do you think she'll be alright?" asks EJ, "Having seen that happen in front of her?"

"It's going to be tough on her. That much is true." answers Magnus, "I'm just worried about what she'll do."

Magnus stands up and proceeds to walk towards Toni.

He takes a seat beside Toni.

"Hey..." Magnus says calmly, "Are you okay?"

"It hurts so much." Toni says still weeping, "I miss him so much! How can there be such evil in this world."

"I ask myself that every time." Magnus answers, "A year and a half ago, I saw a young boy see his parents murdered right in front of him. The two criminals didn't even hesitate giving both parents a finishing shot. Makes me wonder all the time, aside from being angry."

"How do you deal with it? Being a vigilante I mean?"

"That's what the sarcasm is for. It keeps my emotions in check really. I'm not really the best person when it comes to being emotionally stable."

"Do you have times that you just want to let it all out?"

"Yeah, happened with Ariel."

The painful memory of Ariel turning on Magnus still resides in him. It's a pain that he will never lose, no matter how hard he tries to tell it to go away.

"How did you find me and Harry during all that?" Toni ask, "The coordinates weren't even close to specific."

"Ariel told me." Magnus answers, "I ran into her not long before that all happened."

Toni is shocked when she hears Magnus' answer.

"What?" Toni shouts, "She knew what Alexander was up to?"

"They're working together, or sort of." Magnus replies, "Though Ariel doesn't seem to like her working arrangements."

"I knew Alexander was definitely hiding something, but to think that he's the leader of a crazed cult? And now he's working with Ariel?"

"She said that both of them are answering to a higher authority. I asked Dad to check that out as well."

"Did he find out anything about our origin?"

"No, not yet. Maybe this high authority figure may know something."

A notification pops up on Magnus' phone.

It's a text message from a private number.

"Meet me at Alexander Stephenson's office." Magnus reads the text, "It's Ariel."

"So now you two are making amends?" asks Toni,

"No! But if I can find out more about Stephenson and what Ariel is up to, it's worth the risk." Magnus says.

A notification pops up on the computer.

"Damn!" EJ pops up, "We have reports of hooded figures hovering about the Gay Bar."

"That well known nightclub for gays?" Toni asks,

Toni looks at the report on the computer. Magnus begins to equip himself.

"What are you going to do?" Toni asks Magnus.

"I'll have to handle it one at a time." Magnus answers.

Toni is agitated.

"Toni, don't worry, I have this." Magnus reassures Toni as he heads towards the garage section. "Besides, what's the worst that can happen?"

"Oh I don't know… You and Ariel playing catch and kiss?" Toni does her best at making a joke as Magnus heads towards the MagnusMobile.

"Finally! I can take the MagnusMobile for a spin!" Magnus shouts excitedly.

"Please bring it back in one piece!" EJ exclaims as the MagnusMobile comes to life, and zooms out through the exit tunnel.

"Yeah whatever Miss Quartermaster!" Magnus smirks.
