17 Heil's Residence: Goodnight! (2)

Zero took a shower right after Lilith. Her body wrapped around with a towel which she borrowed from his mother. The two had locked their eyes and awkwardly produced a light pinkish colour beneath their faces in embarrassment. "Un..." She burrows her face deeply with a spare towel and rushes over on the other side of the room locking the door. It was a brief moment but nonetheless Zero, unintentionally, had a quick gaze on Lilith's stature. The perfect curves similar to a model, the ample valleys located at her front and her gorgeous wet hair neatly tied up with a secondary towel. She was indeed beautiful amongst any other. Zero hastily stepped inside the shower room, thus began hypothesising…thinking of a way to dispose these sudden weird ideas clouding in his head. He starts preparing the shower, turning on the warmer instilled in the shower. The gushing water was the only sound reverberating inside the bathroom, soothing or may be eluding his tired thoughts. He brushes off his mind as he mindlessly washes himself, for the time being.

The sound of the clock lingers inside the room. Both of them, Zero and Lilith, feeling refreshed and rejuvenated from the long bath that they have longed for. Two people from the opposite sex are sharing a room, Zero's own bedroom. It was safe to say that these kinds of actions are prohibited and could be acted upon only by married people.

The clock hits at 11, which was a great time for them to sleep yet they couldn't grasps any form of drowsiness in their mind; occupied by the sudden events that escalated too quickly.

Their apartment was limited to three different rooms: the bedroom, kitchen and the living room. The living room composes of a sofa large enough to attend 4 people, a painting right above the couch which gives off a magnificent feeling of comfort for the guests, and lastly an average sized table big enough to hold 6 round dishes. Further inside is the kitchen floor. Various kinds of stoves, cooking utensils and a sink aligned on the grubby dishware that had been used from their dinner. Their bedroom is located at the right side of the living room, creating a distant line, with a door, separating these different rooms. A lofty king sized bed is placed at the far end of the room just below the squared window. An enormous hazel coloured closet stands tall on the right corner of the room, accommodating their set of clothes.

A snowflake like clock hangs around the door paired up with today's calendar.

*January 15, Wednesday

It was a humble night. Zero's mother meekly requests Lilith to sleep on a bed, letting mrs. Heil to doze on the coach. She also stated that she had missed the rough texture of her sofa and quickly pushes Lilith towards the bedroom door. Giving her the option to choose wisely, Zero asks her a question

"I guess we'll be sleeping on the same bed…or would you rather prefer me sleeping on the ground? We have a make shift foam in case something like this would happen" giving her a slight shrug making himself thought he made a good point out of what he had said. With an utter disbelief, Lilith refuted

"Your mother forced me to sleep on your bed and she had no other choice and took the couch…then I'd rather take her up on her offer. And besides, I wouldn't let you guys provide any more help than necessary." Giving him a wry smile.

She has a good point. She suddenly barges in, despite our circumstances, and was offered to stay for the night. But, she is still our guests and we need to treat her right.

The ringing sounds of the clock was the only sound perceived by their ears. With backs faced apart, they forced themselves to meditate in their slumber but to no avail. The tension created by the awkwardness and the severity of the event made their tired brain running. Someone needs to start up a conversation. Somebody should strike and produce a reassuring atmosphere once again just for them to fall asleep.

"Hey… you still awake?" Zero mutters behind his breath panting in nervousness.

"I-if you're cold don't hesitate to use my blanket" he resumes.

A long pause greeted the statement, letting the young lady think of her next course of sentences would she speak.

"T-Thank you" an uncomfortable silence returned once again. Zero was losing his calm and starts shifting his position, facing Lilith's back.

"You know, when I was a kid I really hated the dark. I was AFRAID" she giggled. Zero's plan was indeed nearly perfect

"You're cool with dragons but couldn't handle the dark, pfft~" she continues to laugh which makes Zero chuckles back, receiving her reply

"Well, you can't expect me to be tough, you know? After all… I did wanted to save you"

Silence once again echoed in their room but this time, Lilith was able to break the next tension as she throws a rather surprising question.

"Would you laugh if I told you I'm scared with water?"

"No, why would I? Everyone's gotta be scared from something"

"Even though my attributes composes of water and lightning attributes…. I really feared water as a kid since then." She continues

"When I was, I don't know, around 6 years old may be, my sister, Tricia, would always force me to play with her in the swimming pool. There was this time that she was so excited and accidentally pushed my body hard enough for me to fall unconscious underwater. The water wasn't even that deep but…I was held unaware inside the pool. Tricia cried for the whole night…blaming herself from what she had done. I, on the other, consumed with fear that I… promised myself to never step foot on any other bodies of water." Her voice was trembling as she came to a stop, making such a result. Every human being have their own individual fear, and her case was Aquaphobia: the irrational fear and/or anxiety upon a body of water.

"Ironic, isn't it" Zero gave her a statement.

Lilith's point of view *****

I do not know what had happened to me that I gotten too soft for this guy beside me. He wasn't that special but he made me feel secured. I unintentionally told him a story of my pass and at least expected a laugh but… he didn't budged. He was now gazing at the window finding for the right sentences to somehow release the tension

"You know, you're such a strong girl." I rotate my whole body to observe his expression. From the thing he had said, I could just perceive it as a mocking manner, which made my face boil in anger.

"What I wanted to say is… you're a strong girl. Having these fears makes anyone stronger, strong enough to face their weaknesses and by the time that they would, that'll make them shine the brightest"

My anger, which had quietly accumulated, suddenly dispersed into warmth feeling that even I myself couldn't express. He finishes his sentence making my body shift to the sides, turning around, seemingly embarrassed from what had happened.

I took my time to think everything over and as time passes by, I heard something grumble and snore through my ears. I slowly turned myself on the other side once again which made myself a little bit calmer

gazing through his eyes, I somehow found myself asleep amidst from my previous problems.
