29 First Practical Exam (1)

Chapter 29

The sky blue, box-like system, appeared before his eyes, in sync within the attention form the classroom's crowd. Both Lilith and Zero we're crawling their way towards the edge of the nearest available seat. But their roundabout schemes had been eventually found by the new professor. With the aid of the few students, which he had caught them gazing to the two worms, the professor finally registered the two figures attempting to escape in his sight. He shifted his attention and flings the whole black marker on to their direction, creating a large *clank* against the cemented wall. The new professor didn't intend to target the two students, but nonetheless completed his objective, hoarding all the gazes from the class to a single point.

Their classroom symbolises a theatre in which every student, curving like a circle reaching closer to the middle, with the professor on the stadium just beside the entrance door. These seats allocated from the students are intact with lengthyyyy wooden tables to accommodate their necessary instruments aiding for their class. Notebooks, books, various pens and the like are all scattered on each of every student, creating a hormonal study room, enabling the students to learn efficiently and effective.

The professor, who had thrown the marker stood proudly on the platform, fixes his slightly bent glasses gallantly making an embarrassing yet authentic pose. He's wearing a seemingly classic stygian suit and tie, with its matching leather shoes and the like, creates an outstanding gentleman aura.

He coldly gazes at Zero and Lilith, seemingly awaiting a reasonable excuse for their current situation. Cold sweat runs through Zero's spine, observing the marker thus switching his sight slowly to the man who threw in question.

Harnessing this experience would tremendously wound them of their high school memories, especially to Lilith, who had just been elected as the youngest student council president.

As if releasing all of her anxiety and nervousness, she gapes right behind Zero, making an awkward smile, hoping to save her current embarrassment.

The professor slowly approaches the duo, walking confidently, looming their doom.

"You're Zero and Lilith, are you not?" raising his right eyebrow and waits for their response.

Zero, gazing on the man with the suit, gives a reluctant nod, affirming their statement. Lilith, on the other hand, was too lost on her thought and smiled blankly like a mad man she was. Unfazed by this girl's weird response, the professor squats on his knees, aligning himself, from the height of the crawling students.

"We'll talk later, after my class. Did I made myself clear?" he inquires on a commanding tone which they couldn't reject.

Upon hearing their reply, he just stood up, picks up the fallen marker, and walks back towards his previous position. Zero pulled Lilith hastily, as his mind could possibly think, whilst randomly finding some open seats near their blackboard. Fortunately, there were 3 available seats just around the centre, which they hurriedly sat and claimed their position.

Observing his two late students finding their appropriate, rather, free seat, he recommences his talk from where he had left from before, whilst summarising every points which Zero and Lilith had missed last twenty three minutes ago

"Repeating myself for the late comers of our class, my name is "Snake Clevantine". Call me whatever you like, I don't care. If you would sleep, eat or bored from my class, you can just go out and I wouldn't even bother charging you for any absences. If you feel like listening and learning in my class, then so be it. I hope we could get along…I really do" he brushes off the bed hair from his head, and looks at everyone with his boredom eyes. A girl who's seating right beside Zero awfully glares on their professor, moreover mumbling an inaudible cursing voice. Her eyes twitch, and so does her glasses, upon hearing the latter part of Snake's speech, a typical nerdy girl excited to learn in a prestige academy shattered her broken heart due to her high expectations to their first professor in class.

Zero held out his shock, staring gallantly both to her and Snake, collecting his thoughts. As for Lilith, she was still recovering from her embarrassing emotional share, still haven't given up from her eluding dream.

"That's all I wanted to say. You're all free to go" said the professor, as he marches down the entrance door. He locates our presence and signals us to follow him shortly, which we nonchalantly comply. Pulling Lilith from the rumbling crowd from their shock, they made their way towards the door.

Professor Snake was found leaning down on the other side of the hallway and resumes his current route upon seeing them both. Technically speaking, it was not humanly possible to travel unto a different location in a short period of time, nonetheless that that person has been studying magic, uniquely from the selected few. Dashing from left to right, still holding and pulling Lilith's hand, desperately catching up the pace that mr. Snake had created.

Somehow, mid-way from their journey, his very shadow robbed them from their sight and disappeared from the nothingness. Recalling their setting, the stone walls and marble floor was replaced by a distorted dimension, which was highly similar to the starry night painted by van Gogh. Re-awake from the colourful yet scrambled hues of colours above, Lilith regains her composure as the two of them makes their way towards the illusion of space and time.
