26 Chapter 26: That's no moon

" Send a ping to my brothers, Telling them to come to the command deck", Magnus ordered the AI.

" Yes", The robotic voice replied as the computer sent messages to both Race and Sione.

5 mins later a tired and sleepy Race walked in followed by Sione as jolly as ever.

" Ok guys we are going to reach The Office in about 6 hours. So Sione Master said that she had something special planned for you. Master said to drop you off there", without even letting Sione respond Magnus continued; " Race you will accompany me to complete a mission assigned to us. After which we too can go back to the Office".

" You told me that it would take about 2 weeks to get there", Race immediately caught on to the fact that he had been lied. " What was the purpose of keeping me in space for all this time", Race was angry, because the brothers' he had began to trust was lying to him from the very beginning.

" Race, I do understand your feeling. Every disciple taken in by an Enlightened had to go through a 2 week observation period", Magnus continued as he saw that Race was still listening and not just fuming, " Enlightened Mechanics are important personals, Each of them an important asset, people who can let humanity win Wars. So, everything about them is kept under wraps. So there are various procedures the new students must undergo before you are even allowed to meet their respective master."

Race sighed, " I get it, but being lied to is never a good feeling. But yeah, I guess i should be the one to apologize. Sorry"

" Well, although it was because we had to follow the rules, I did lie to you. Sorry Race ". Magnus also gave Race a heartfelt apology.

" Now tell me about the mission", Race was eager to get the awkwardness from the earlier altercation.

" Not now, I will tell you about it after we drop off Sione".

" Why can't I come, huh". Sione was bit disappointed.

" Master said that she had something special for you", Magnus was able to diffuse that situation quite easily.

" Really! ", Little Sione was really excited. " Have fun brothers", Sione said as he hopped his way back to his room to pack his bags.

After they made sure Sione was away from them, Magnus decided to tell Race all about that he knew mission that they were going to take part in.

" You are kind of lucky Race, You just have complete the the entire observation procedures. you just have to complete this mission and you can just skip to becoming an official disciple."

" Does this mission have anything to do with Sione, Is that why we have to drop him off ", Race was able to find the exact reason why Sione was excluded from the mission.

" Yes, It is. We were able to find another lead. A lab that is allegedly conducting various experiments on human, Illegal experiments. I don't know much about it. We will receive a briefing when we rendezvous with the squad that is supposed to be heading the mission. From what master said this mission was forwarded to us because of there being possibility of it being related to Sione".

" So when do we meet them." Race asked.

" In about 12 hrs. We have to go back to your home world after dropping Sione off. According to what I was told the employees at the lab has a frequent dealing with people on and around your home world".

" I've been leaving in my home world without knowing the existence of such an evil so near to me." Race kind of terrified on knowing about that fact. " Wait, If not for the stupid rule I would have met my new Master in 6 hours ".

" No the only reason we can reach 'The Office' in six hours is due to the insane warp engine on the Minotaur. This was developed for the exclusive our use by Master." Magnus said matter of factly.

" Yeah whatever, call me when we reach ' The Office'" Race was felt grumpy so he left the command deck to catch up on the sleep that he lost trying to learn Magicule Manipulation.

6 hours passed by before Race was once again called to the deck.

" We are here Race." Magnus spoke to Race pointing at a dark grey moon through the command deck window.

" The Office is on that moon", Race was quite interested in knowing what Made an enlightened set up his/her home on a moon.

Hearing Race's question Magnus's laughed hard.

" Haha...hahahaha... That's no moon, That is 'The Office'. The Home of our Master.
