1 The Chase

A village located beside a peculiar forest nicknamed Dark forest by the villagers, two children a boy and a girl around ages seven or eight could be seen playing with a small creature. Suddenly, as if showing its anger, the small creature bit the boy on his hand and snatched an item from his hand and ran in the direction of the forest.

"Ouch, my amulet!!!" cried the boy as he chased after the creature.

"Russ! come back its dangerous" Lisa warned him.

Russ continued without looking at her and shouted "its fine Lisa, I'm just going for my amulet, I'll be back in no time." Without waiting for her reply Russ disappeared into the forest chasing after the small creature.

"But there are strong.. creatures... in there." said Lisa realizing that he was already gone. "Please come back safely..." she muttered to herself.

Russ rushed through the forest skillfully in order to get back his stolen amulet, the small creature's figure could barely be seen up ahead.

'How can this creature be so fast despite its small build? I'm almost at the peak of the apprentice warrior level 9 and I still cant catch up to it, heck I can even compete with a wild wolf in speed' as he was thinking he suddenly heard a rustling noise beside him and saw a big creature charging over at him, he dodged to the side and caught his breath to look at this creature that attacked him.

"Gasp, speak of the devil, that's a very big wild wolf." Russ exclaimed while looking the creature up and down wondering 'since when were wolves this big?'.

"Howl!!" roared the wolf as it attacked again.

Russ was barely able to dodge this attack and pitifully landed on his butt "ouch, that was fast" he said as he stood up and put some distance between him and the creature.

'This doesn't seem like a normal wild wolf. is it close to breaking through to warrior level 1 magical beast or already a warrior level magical beast? our chief is only a level 1 warrior close to breaking through to level 2' after thinking till here horror dawned on his face as he immediately tried to run away.

"Roar!!" the wolf roared in anger seeing its prey running away, it chased after him.

A 4 meter long wolf could be seen chasing a eight year old boy in the forest. 'this stupid wolf doesn't know when to give up, damn I need to get out of this situation fast before it catches up or else it would be the end of me...' Russ thought.

Russ ran for his life dodging all the attacks the big wolf threw at him, while running he thought 'why wont this stupid wolf give up? at this rate I would get lost in this darn forest!' he dodged another attack, however he saw the wolf about to attack again. He decided to duke it out with the wolf since it wouldn't give up.

He dodged the attack rolling on the ground whilst picking up a sharp stone he saw earlier, he decided to counter attack by stabbing the wolf at its waist where wolves common weak spot lies.

'yes successful!' he exclaimed while dodging the wolves enraged attack.

He ran up a tree while watching the wolf bleed and attacking everything in sight down below. 'this wouldn't be enough be enough to kill it' he thought ' why don't I try to attack it?'.

Having confirmed this train of thought, he decided to climb down the tree and attack the wolf unaware of the cunning glint in the wolves eye and somewhat mocking smile.

He charged at the wolf with his sharp stone, he noticed the glint and mocking smile but it was too late, the wolf knocked him away with his claw giving him serious injuries. the wolf slowly walked up to him with its mouth wide open.

'guess this is the end... sigh I should've listened to Lisa, there are strong monsters in this forest' while thinking of this he noticed his amulet beside him on the ground shinning with a bright multi-colored light, he grabbed it without a second thought.

The last thing he saw was the wolf vanishing before his eyes before he lost consciousness.
