Magical Girl System in Another World

"Do you wish to be a Magical Girl?"

Such were the first words that Liam Strife heard when he gained consciousness from his peaceful slumber. When his vision recovered, what he witnessed shock him to the very core.

Because the voice of the speaker was anything but human, mind him.

It was a pink floating cat-like creature with its tail split into double, basically turning it to two. Its… her uncanny yellow eyes pierced directly at Liam with a cheerful smile on her seemingly adorable face.

"What in the actual fuck?" Liam rubbed his eyes to see that perhaps the thing in front of him was just a figment of his imagination. When his vision was clear once more, the cat was still before him, as clear as day and was just amused by his reaction.

"W-what are you?" Liam could not help but ask while peeking a glance at his surroundings. When he saw that he was not in the comfort of his home and instead was in an open grassy field surrounded by numerous trees, the young man immediately proceeded to his next question, "and where the hell am I!!??"

"My name is Nekowa, and I am a Female Magical Cat." The creature introduced herself, "As to where we are, well… your guess is as good as mine."

"Wait, you don't know?" Liam said with a surprised expression, "I assume that you were the one responsible for bringing me here!"

"You assume wrong then, human." Nekowa crossed her arms with a frown on her face, "I too was brought here away from my home. I tried to sense and connect with my Magical Girls, but my efforts prove to be in vain. Either my magic is malfunctioning for some reason or what I fear the most… we are in another world of a sort."

"Another world? Surely not. Maybe we are just far away from civilization?" Liam rejected the notion of being whisked away like those Isekai Protagonists from some animes that he was watching.

"We are indeed in another world regrettably. My magic allows me to communicate with my Magical Girls no matter how far they are, and none heeded to my call." Nekowa shook her head in disagreement.

Liam was in disbelief at the dire situation that they were now in. If they truly were in another world, then most likely, there were some unknown factors that may prove a threat to his life. If this other world was like any of the Isekai anime he watched, then fantasy elements were of the norm around here. On top of that, Liam was certainly no overpowered protagonist, and if he were to encounter an otherworldly creature, then his chances of survival were slim to none.

"Fuck me, what are we supposed to do then?" Liam eyed Nekowa with concern, hoping that the flying cat possessed a solution to his dilemma, "I'm just an ordinary human, mind you."

"True, I don't sense anything extraordinary out of you." Nekowa nodded in agreement, "In truth, I too share the same concern as you. Alone, I'm nothing but a powerless cat who can't even pose a threat against low level monsters. But with my magic, I can bestow you the means for survival."

"By turning me into this Magical Girl, I reckon?" Liam caught up quickly at what Nekowa was trying to say, earning a look of approval from the cat.

"Indeed. While you were unconscious, I scouted around the vicinity and witnessed some foul creatures lurking nearby. Thus, it is imperative that you turn into a Magical Girl, for the sake of both our survival." Nekowa responded with a grim look.

"A Magical Girl, huh. Wait…" Liam said while sounding unsure, "Will this actually work? You do realize that I'm a man, right?"

"Fufufu, whatever occupies below your groin is of no issue." Nekowa giggled mischievously and conjured a diamond shaped white gem with pink outlines that covered the outer part of the jewelry and gave it to Liam, "Sometimes, it takes a real man to be the best girl."

"Right, a fucking excuse to be gay, I reckon." Liam was conflicted about the cat's quote, but received the gem, nonetheless. Survival was their top priority right now and if he was going to live another day by turning into the opposite gender, then so be it.

"To transform, simply say or think, Magical Girl: Defolta, while clutching the gem in your heart." Nekowa instructed him.

"Alright, here goes nothing." Liam followed the cat's instructions and uttered the words, "Magical Girl: Defolta."

In a flash of bright white light, what followed was a sequence of events that involved Liam's clothes disappearing, followed by his biological appearance shaping to womanly figures. After that, his attire, a simple set of school uniform, was replaced by a sleeveless white gala uniform and white skirt with pink frills occupying them, followed by a pair of long pink socks with pink heels.

When the transformation was finally over, Liam felt different, as if he was constantly overflowing with energy and remarkable vitality that exceeded any athlete of their prime.

"Woah, this is amazing." Liam marveled at (her?) new power and was brimming with excitement. Not to mention, she was also shocked by the change of her voice, and instantly blushed as soon as she saw her own pair of breasts when she looked down below.

Liam unconsciously stroked her own hair, the same brown color as her male counterpart, but longer.

Then suddenly, a text box appeared and voiced the following words:

"Magical Girl: Defolta. Jack of all Trades, and Master of None. Derived from the word, Default, Defolta is capable of using every weaponry, martial moves, and magic spells up to their B+ level. As a result, this grants Defolta a lot of versatility and adaptability to different situations at the cost of spreading all her skill sets and attributes thin."

Attributes: Each time the Magical Girl levels up, she may allocate 5 Attribute points to her liking.

Strength (10) – Determines how physically strong the Magical Girl is, allowing inhumane feats such as carrying and throwing heavy objects without effort, shoving foes around, and demonstrating intimidation tactics against weaker-willed individuals.

Dexterity (10) – Determines how agile the Magical Girl is, showing unnatural levels of athleticism unlike any other, and increasing her Stamina as a result. This attribute also governs a Magical Girl's stealth capabilities, such as sneaking and assassinating unaware foes like a true ghost.

Endurance (10) – Determines how healthy the Magical Girl is, increasing her overall Health and immunity against diseases and other physical ailments. Higher Endurance allows the Magical Girl to withstand more physical punishment and wear Heavy Armors with little to no consequence.

Intelligence (10) – Determines the Magical Girl's gift in the magical arts, increasing the potency of her magic spells. This attribute also demonstrates her intellectual prowess, particularly in situations where knowledge is required.

Mind (10) – Determines how vast a Magical Girl's overall Mana pool is, allowing more spells to be cast. With a Higher Mind, the Magical Girl can withstand mental punishment and horror that would otherwise break the average person's state of mind and leave them like a hallow shell to be casted away.

Charisma (10) – Determines how well the Magical Girl deals with social interactions and bend the will of individuals to further her agenda. Furthermore, people are also drawn in to her the higher her Charisma is.

Skills: Skills or Spells can be learned by interacting with Skill or Spell Books found throughout the world. The Magical Girl may also acquire Skills from discovery, natural progression of her level, or immerse herself to study from a tutor. Each Skill is ranked from E to S+ depending on their strength or usefulness. Skills are also categorized based on their Attribute and are more potent if their designated Attribute are higher.

Summon: Defolta Blade (B) (STR) – Conjures a magic steel sword and wield it to battle. Mana cost: 30.

Quote: "Magical Girls are known for possessing their very own signature weaponry, and despite being arguably the weakest of them all, Defolta's Blade is still powerful and possessed versatility unlike any other."

Magical Bolt (C) (INT) – Fires an arcane projectile from your hands, inflicting significant damage at your adversaries. Mana cost: 10.

Quote: "One of the most basics of spells from a Magical Girl's arsenal use to fire at enemies from a safe distance."

Lovely Heal (C) (CHA)– Conjures a wave of healing energy to heal yourself or others. Heal: 5 / second. Mana cost: 10 / second.

Quote: "Magical Girls are known to be a beacon of hope among her people, spreading love and health whenever she is around."

Assassinate (B) (DEX) – Ambush an unaware foe and strike the killing blow or deal massive damage should they survive the onslaught. Stamina cost: 40.

Quote: "A necessary evil and considered dishonorable, some Magical Girls stray from the usual path of justice to deliver swift judgment to villains without any ounce of remorse."

"Well, this is new." Nekowa commented in slight amazement, earning Liam's undivided attention, "When a Magical Girl is inducted to our ranks, there certainly were no elements of this video game thing whatsoever."

"Wait, you mean this is not normal?" Liam was flabbergasted while still all eyes on the digital presentation.

"Hmm… for now, no use in overthinking about it." Nekowa answered, "Besides… we have company."

"What!?" Liam turned alarm when she heard a series of loud growls coming from behind. Turning to her back, she saw a group of short, green-skinned monstrosity who leered at her with perverse smile on their faces.

"Goblins!?" Liam witness five of the monsters beginning to gang up on her with their primitive clubs sheathed.

"Huh, the bright light when you transformed must have attracted their attention." Nekowa concluded, "Anyways, perfect timing then. Time to put your mettle to the test, Defolta."

"Very well." Liam… Defolta said as she now faced the goblins cautiously, "I guess I better play this safe first, Defolta Blade."

Responding to her will, the magic sword was conjured on her right hand, causing the goblins to widen their eyes in slight shock and backed away a bit.

Defolta recognized their body language and grinned sinisterly.

"Magical Bolt!" Defolta chanted the spell and a blue bolt of magic energy appeared from her left hand as she sent it flying to the goblins.

The projectile was quite fast and one of the goblins was not able to react, causing a small explosion and sending it prone to the ground. When the other goblins saw their comrade heavily injured, they now reacted with fury instead of fear and charge right at Defolta with reckless abandon.

"Magical Bolt! Magical Bolt!" Defolta was somehow surprised by herself that she can calmly fire her spells at the terrifying creatures that was trying to murder her. She focused the bolts on one Goblin, effectively killing and leaving it a charred mess.

Three Goblins remaining, they were now in melee range and Defolta swiftly slashed one Goblin in an arc, cutting off its body in half.

"Ugh, disgusting." Defolta made a small comment about her foe's gruesome end and jumped away from a club strike courtesy of another of the Goblins. She then fired another Magical Bolt while she was airborne and pinned the said Goblin to the ground. With her sword in hand, Defolta then plunged right at the downed Goblin, gaping a hole on its head as blood splattered on her own head.

While distracted and vision blurred from the blood sputtered, the remaining Goblin seized the opportunity and strike Defolta's back.

-10 Health.

When the Goblin saw that Defolta reacted minimally to the pain, it dropped its club and was about to run, seeing that he was the only one who was breathing.

Well, for now that is. Defolta wiped the blood from her face and immediately turned around to quickly grip the goblin's neck and send it to a chokehold.

"That was foul." Defolta relished the look of terror coming from the goblin's face as it was about to meet its demise, "For your vain effort, your death shall be the most painful."

Defolta then plunged her fist at the goblin's chest, boring a hole as she grabbed its still beating heart and crushed it with her own hand.

Skill Unlocked: Heart Crusher.

Heart Crusher (B+) (STR) – A finishing move. When an enemy is weakened or caught off guard, the Magical Girl may grab her foe's heart from their insides and crush it to a pulp. Inflicts Fear among weak-willed enemies within the vicinity. Immune against enemies without a heart.

Quote: "A unrestrained move employed by brutal savages who savored in eyeing their opponent's fearful eyes before relinquishing what they hold dear."

Skill Unlocked: Sadist.

Sadist (B) (Passive) (STR / DEX) – The Magical Girl revels in the heat of battle, restoring 40 Stamina each time she deals the finishing blow.

Quote: "The thrill of combat awakens both adrenaline and excitement for the warrior, rejuvenating them so they can keep with up with their ferocious onslaught."

Note: In a case where two attributes are designated in a skill, the higher attribute takes into account to determine the skill's potency.

"Oh, I almost forgot." Defolta spoke with a terrifyingly chirpy voice as her depraved demeanor never ended yet. She turned a 180 and eyed the one and only goblin who was injured by her first Magical Bolt, "I wonder, perhaps I can utilize Defolta Blade… like this."

The fallen goblin could only stare helplessly as the new Defolta Blade was summoned from above and immediately fell right at its head, ending the monster with a sword stabbed deep on its cranium.

When the skirmish was finally concluded, Nekowa now eyed her new protégé with newfound dread.

"T-this is wrong on so many levels." Nekowa gazed at Defolta's bloody form who was all butterflies and sunshine despite the gory violence she inflicted, "Magical Girls are supposed to be all cute and cuddly, not sadistic psychopaths who are battle maniacs."

"What's wrong, Nekowa?" Defolta said with a gleeful expression, startling the cat a bit, "You look troubled?"

"Ahh… it's… nothing." Nekowa would never dare to reveal her true feelings about the mentally deranged young lady in front of her, "You did good, yes. You certainly prove that you have the strength and prowess as a bona fide Magical Girl!"

"Heh, you got that right." Defolta wholeheartedly agreed, "This power… it's quite exhilarating. Thank you for giving me this gift, Nekowa. Oh, and don't worry about me going evil or anything. I shall only use this power to rotten scum who totally deserve it."

"I'm glad to hear that." Nekowa breath a sigh of relief and thought that perhaps her worries were just misplaced. The man is still new and at least he accepted and embraced his power rather than panic like some of the Defolta Magical Girls who she inducted in the past.

And such panic and loss of control over their powers even got themselves killed.

Nekowa shuddered and shook her head away from bad memories. No time for such dark thoughts and they should be thinking on what their next course of action should be.

'Well, if nothing else, things should be interesting with him around.' Nekowa brimmed with positivity, looking forward to a bright future ahead with this new magical journey of theirs.
