Chapter 9 – Adventure Within the City

I woke up on the hotel bed while trying to open my eyes. I was always bad at waking up in the morning, but this was at a different level altogether. I really wanted to snuggle in the sheets and sleep once again.

But I can't, I must wake up and enjoy this world to the fullest. It was such a waste that I had not yet to look around this city to the fullest.

I enjoyed the fight yesterday, I enjoyed it. But adventuring into the city of Magical Giants was a different story.

I was sleeping while wearing my hoodie and shorts, that was why I just went into the bathroom and washed my face to get ready to walk around this town again. My hoodie and shorts were made of Magic from the earring, that was why it will not get wrinkled or smelt bad.

It will always smell like newly washed clothes with orange-scented detergent, which I really love. After I washed my face and wiped my face with a warm towel, I exited my hotel room.

All my stuff was inside my inventory mirror, so I am not worried about leaving anything behind. When I checked out of the hotel, the receptionist somehow looked at me with a strange gaze. I decided to ignore her and exited the hotel without glancing back at her.

I have learned something from my previous life. Don't be so kind and don't be too courteous, just do what you wanted to do. Kindness will only serve you with something unpleasant, that was why I will do what I wanted to do.

The receptionist earlier, I recognized her gaze. Her gaze was so similar to the adult who looked at me as if I was a rare animal, an anomaly.

"Umu, where should I go?" I muttered as I looked around to the left and right in front of the hotel.

I decided to go to the left, as it was the direction to the market of this city. I love the food that I bought yesterday, and I wanted to eat varieties of foods in this city before I left. I planned to leave this city before that, as I hate getting pulled by problems! Even when I played as Zmeya in Magical Giants, I always ignored the event and played as I pleased because I had experienced the trouble of the event from the Good side or Evil side.

I must say … because this game was an eroge, every defeat event will come with a lewd CG. Now I was wavering, should I stay and watch? Or should I continue my adventure to the second city? But well, no one could stop me so I will decide later!

I reached the market that was located on the left side of this city. The market was bustling with the crowd and a lot of stalls were set on each side of the road.

The stalls' roofs had various colors from white, blue, to red. It was like a festival, but this sight was normal in this city.

There were various items sold in these stalls. From food, clothes, vegetables, even jewelry and figures of Magical Girls. That was why a lot of parents brought their children to the Market. So let's get started, my culinary hunting!

I visited one of the stalls that sold a round-looking food that was fried in a pan that looked like created for solely frying this food. This was one of my favorite food, and I have always enjoyed it occasionally. This was Takoyaki!

This world was really strange. Where did the stall owner get these octopuses? The endless sea on the edge of this world was really dangerous, it was filled with Sea Beasts and Tsunami happened occasionally because of the Giants' steps.

But that doesn't matter. I approached the stall and looked at the owner. The stall owner of Takoyaki was bald, and there was a piece of cloth tied on his head. When he saw me, he gave me his best smile and asked.

"Young girl, do you want to buy Takoyaki?"

Again, another one called me a young girl. I was an adult! I will reach 20 years this year, and yet he called me a young lady because of my height! Didn't they realize that the normal height in this world was strange! I am 155cm, and yet I looked like a loli in this world.

'Keep your calm, Zmeya. You are Zmeya now, the Independent Magical Girl. You are not Yumei anymore, don't get mad with anything that hurt your pride.'

I looked at the stall owner with a frown on my face and raised my index and middle fingers.

"Give me two boxes of Takoyaki."

The stall owner closed his eyes for a second and shouted, "Alright, two Takoyaki coming up!"

With a skilled hand, the owner made the Takoyaki. He flipped the Takoyaki from the pan with ease and put the diced octopus inside. After waiting for a while, he put the Takoyaki on the boxes and handed it to me.

"Two Takoyaki, that will be 20 Deep Coins!"

Deep Coins, the currency of this world. The name of the Coin was adapted from the name of this world, Deepland. From the price of 2 Takoyaki, I understood the worth of 10 Deep Coins here was equal to 500 Yen in Japan.

I took 2 silver Deep Coins from my pocket and handed them to the stall owner and took the boxes of Takoyaki.

"Thank you very much! Come again next time!"

There were 4 types of Deep Coins. A copper one that was worth 1 Deep Coin. A silver one that was worth 10 Deep Coins. A gold one that was worth 100 Deep Coins. And lastly, a black one that was worth 1000 Deep Coins.

I had a lot of Deep Coins in my inventory. I mean, I don't know the exact amount, but I had over a million Black Deep Coins and millions of the other types of coins.

My bad mood from being called a young girl was gone after I got my Takoyaki. I went to a park near the Market and sat on one of the benches. I opened one box of Takoyaki and smiled. Inside the box was a pricker to eat the Takoyaki. I took the pricker, stabbed one of the Takoyaki, and put it into my mouth.

"Hmm~ This is delicious!" I hummed happily as I put my left hand on my cheek, enjoying the taste of Takoyaki.

I ate another Takoyaki and enjoyed it to the fullest.

'This is a bliss~'

When I was enjoying the Takoyaki by myself in the park, a girl with long straight black hair and a white dress passed in front of me while glancing at me occasionally.

Maybe it was my imagination, so I continued eating the Takoyaki. But, surprisingly, the girl stopped after a few steps and turned to look at me. No, she was looking at my Takoyaki.

I looked up at the girl and asked, "What do you want?"

'Again… well, as I said earlier, let's just accept it' I thought inside my mind. If I can't get rid of my haughty tone, then I just need to accept it.

The girl looked at me shyly before she played with her hair in embarrassment.

"W-well, I wanted to ask what do you eat? Is that tasty?"

The girl pointed at the Takoyaki on my laps with her index finger. I looked at the Takoyaki for a while before presenting it to the girl, "Want to try some?"

Previously, I said that kindness will not do anything and I will do as I please. But, spreading Takoyaki was not kindness, it was a brainwash! Or so I wanted to say, but even Zmeya's personality wanted me to give the girl my Takoyaki.

The girl walked towards me slowly. I was a bit pissed by how slow she was, so I stood up and put the Takoyaki inside her mouth using my right hand.

She was surprised when I did that, but when she tasted the Takoyaki inside her mouth, her eyes widened, and a smile formed on her face.

"It was delicious!" Exclaimed the girl.

I put the box of the Takoyaki on the bench and looked at the girl while putting my hands on my hips, "Right?!"

I smiled smugly at the girl and asked her, "By the way, what is your name, girl?"

The girl looked at me with a smile on her face and said, "My name is Aria, nice to meet you."

"Umu, you better thank your fate for meeting me. My name is Zmeya!"
