1 Chapter 1

"All aboard for Crystal River University!!" yells the conductor. Jordyn rushes up to the platform, bag on my back, and suitcase in hand. This was my big day. My first day at Crystal River University. She gives the conductor her ticket as she jumps on and he smiles at her, stamping her ticket.

"Nice to see another Blackwell on this train," he says, handing her, her ticket.

She freezes at that as she takes her ticket and he chuckles at that.

"Don't worry. I was informed to be discrete," the conductor says.

She breathes a sigh of relief and smiles at him.

"Thank you," she says.

"Go ahead and take your seat. We'll be moving along in a bit," the conductor says.

She nods at that and moves to pick a good seat, slipping my ticket into my pocket. She slips into a random seat and placed my bag beside her and her suitcase above her. People start piling onto the train and finding seats beside their friends and everything, while she put my headphones in listening to music. After a while, the doors close and the train starts moving towards her family's legacy. She feels a tap on her shoulder and looks over to see a boy standing there. He had his bags on both his shoulders and smiles at her. She takes out one earbud and looks at him.

"Yes?"

"Is this seat taken? All the other seats are either taken or being used to catch up on sleep. I think it's bull." he says.

"Take a seat. I'm Jordyn," she says, moving her bag, giggling.

"Damien."

He puts his suitcases above them beside hers and sits down.

"So what are you studying at Crystal River?" he asks.

"Undecided right now. What about you?" Jordyn asks.

"I'm going to be studying Magical arts. Runes, theories, texts, all of it," Damien says.

"So teacher or professor?" Jordyn asks.

"Professor totally. Once I hit a junior year, I'll shadow one of the professors for credits," he tells.

"That sounds amazing," Jordyn tells.

They end up talking the whole way to Crystal River University and became fast friends.
