3 I'm Fine?

Alistair did not feel good. He was sure he had died. But for some reason or another, there was an inane beeping noise, trying to jolt him awake. He opened his eyes. Wait, he could open his eyes? And was met with a brightly lit ceiling and hit with the familiar scent of a hospital.

Oh, so I didn't die? He thought to himself. He tried to get up, but he felt weak, his body did not seem to be very responsive. It took him several tries before he managed to sit up and even then, he felt slightly dizzy from the effort.

At that moment the door into his room opened and he was met with the shocked face of an Asian man. He looked to be in his mid-thirties, with short, cropped black hair and wearing an expensive looking suit.

Alistair watched as the stranger quickly closed the door and then reopened it a few times. He could not help but laugh at the antics of this strange man, but it soon devolved into a hacking cough. It seemed laughing was still beyond him. The stranger hearing the sound, immediately ran over in concern.

"Young Master, Young Master, you're awake. Finally. You have been in a coma for 3 months. The Master and Madam have been so concerned. Oh, why did I not stop you and the Young Miss from taking that damned bus. I am so sorry. I failed you." The man rushed out every single word, it was as if he had not spoken in three months, the sheer speed left Alistair in a slight daze.

Young Master? Young Miss? Who were they? At that moment a sudden rush of unfamiliar memories flooded his brain.

He had died. Alistair was no more. He was currently in the body of Lee Min-soo, the typical son of a chaebol family. Key word, rich. The Lee family owned Antares Group, one of South Korea's largest conglomerates. They dabbled in resources, electronics, consumer goods all the way to defence. If profit could be made in it, the Lee family more often than not had a hand in it.

His Father was the current CEO, however, the main decision maker was his grandfather, Lee Sung-ho, the current Culture, Sports and Tourism Minister. A powerful man.

The year was 2019, but there seemed to be strange gaps in his memories. The most jarring was the lack of K-pop.

It seemed he had not only been given a new life, but it had been done so in a different world. Or to be more accurate, an alternate world.

A world where the Hallyu wave did not experience the same success as his past world's. South Korea's number one cultural export was nowhere to be found in this world. From this body's memories it seemed to be the result of a lack of government confidence and a series of scandals amongst the nascent entertainment industry that nipped it in the bud.

That was not to say South Korea did not have an entertainment industry, but it was safe to say it was inconsequential.

Alistair, sighed aloud, he was very excited to go see BTS and it appeared even after being given a second life, it would be impossible. In a world where the light in his life was non-existent. A slight part of him even wondered why he had been given such a chance if the world was so dull.

Alistair was brought back from his melancholic thoughts by the panicked shouting of that strange man, no, Han Hyun-woo his personal assistant and close friend.

"Doctor, doctor, someone come, the Young Master is awake, but he is in a daze, could something be wrong with his head? Hello? Anyone?!" he shouted as he ran out of the room looking for what Min-soo presumed was a doctor.

He did not need to wait for long, as only a couple of minutes later barely enough time for Alistair to contain his laughter, a team of doctors and nurses came sweeping into the room. Their serious and slightly annoyed faces morphed into shock as they realised that Hyun-woo had not been lying.

They quickly rushed over and asked Alistair a series of questions. Do you remember who you are? Do you know where you are? Do you know what year it is? When were you born? These mundane questions he answered reflexively as Min-soo, that even he was shocked at how easily he had adapted to this new life.

The doctors and nurses tutted and nodded, whispering and exclaiming every now and then, before the head doctor simply told him, "Get some more rest, we will be back later to do a few tests. But the preliminary checks indicate you are perfectly fine." With that said the room was emptied in no time, besides Alistair and Hyun-woo.

Hyun-woo looked far calmer than he had previously, especially after hearing Alistair speak and confirm his identity. His prediction that Min-soo had attracted amnesia, being proven wrong had gone a long way to alleviate his concerns.

With an aggrieved expression, he whined, "Young Master, why did you not answer me earlier? You know how I can read too much into things sometimes. Honestly, you can be so cruel sometimes."

Alistair was speechless, Hyun-woo was acting like a jilted lover, he had not expected their relationship to be so close, he even began to question this body's sexuality. However, he was saved from his predicament by a phone call.

Picking up the phone in such a hurried manner, left him slightly breathless, the accident really did a number on him, not helped by being in a coma for three months of course.

Not even bothering to check the caller ID, Alistair answered the call.

"Hello?"

"Min-soo. So, you are awake, you ungrateful piece of shit. How dare you take your sister on a death trip. Huh, since when did you grow such big balls? If you wanted to kill yourself, go ahead, why bring your sister along? Are you fucking tired of living? I did not raise you for twenty-two years just for you to end my family like this. You better have a good fucking reason, or I tell you, there will be hell to pay. You better be home tonight and at the dinner table, or you can forget about this family."

Before Alistair could even get a word in, the call had already ended. In typical style, his father had made his thoughts extremely clear and had been as poignant as ever. Lee Sung-min was as straightforward and irascible as his memories had portrayed.

Knowing that he was in serious trouble this time, Alistair told Hyun-woo to get everything sorted so that he could be home for dinner. Having already guessed what trouble Min-soo was in, Hyun-woo was as reliable as ever and arranged for his discharge in only a couple of hours. Turned out the hospital he was in was one where Antares Group was the major sponsor, which made things go smoother.

However, he would need to come back in the next couple of days for some tests, after all he had been in a coma for three months. Other than that, they also arranged for some specialists to plan his optimal path to recovery.
