The first to battle was determined by the use of a crystal ball.

Each students name had been recorded on the ball, which would determine each person's opponent. The crystal took into consideration the battle power and magical style and made a random decision based on that.

The first battles were interesting and Izzy watched as the students battled with all their power. She was not surprised by their raw viciousness. But was somewhat disturbed because most of the students were younger than her.

There was a rule against killing your opponent, but there were times where accidents happened.

It was early afternoon when the first of the orange students were called up and paired against a green-rank student, named Mitch.

Leithi trembled with his sword in his hand, when he heard his name called.

Izzy wished him luck as he walked passed her. His eyes looked like that of a frightened rabbit and Izzy honestly pitied him.

When he walked up to the stage there weren't many people focused on his match, since there were two other matches taking place at the same time.

The facilitator stood in the middle, as reminded both of Leithi and Mitch of the rules. Mitch sneered at the small Leithi and felt that this type of opponent was an insult to him.

" Begin!' The facilitator shouted.

In an instant, Mitch shouted out a fire spell and blasted a simple fireball at Leithi. He was using basic magic because in his mind there was no need for him to put in much effort.

Izzy stood up hoping that Leithi would dodge. Instead, he stood still gripping his sword.

Filled with anxiety at seeing Leithi so still Izzy shouted, " Dodge!"

The trembling Leithi heard her voice, it snapped him out of his thoughts and by a hairs breath, he dodged the fireball. Some of the fire grazed his uniform but he was unharmed.

" Hmph! A simple dodge" Mitch yawned and conjured more fireballs hurling them at Leithi.

The facilitator stood by bored and waited for Mitch to finish the match.

When all the fireballs landed he already assumed Leithi was taken out. He raised his hand.

" Match end winner-"

" Hey, it's not done!" Izzy shouted from her seat.

The facilitator was annoyed at her, he looked over to the left where there was dust and smoke.

The dust cleared and there stood Leithi, unscathed.

None of the fireballs had touched him.
